Powerstone City at night is AMAZING. We're driving through the busiest part now, there are lights EVERYWHERE, I am UTTERLY aware that I'm acting like some kind of simple unsophisticated backward girl in the 'big city' for the first time and I TOTALLY DON'T CARE. There are trees with glowing blue lights on them! DOZENS of them! All along the street! And the buildings are all blue and gold and green and purple, they're all lit up, not just by the lights inside the buildings but by ... by I don't even KNOW what! And there are people EVERYWHERE, all along these big wide roads, crossing at big wide crossings, hundreds of people, thousands of people, the noise is incredible, even inside Dad's car. Now we're driving through like a tunnel, except it's also a normal street with shops at the sides and people and cars and a roof over the top with these underwater scenes painted on it, and all lit up in swishy swirly blue

Whoops, forgot I was writing this. Powerstone City at night is AMAZING, I think I wrote that already but I don't care, it's worth saying twice. We're out of the central area now and heading towards the business district, it's quite near the industrial part of town (Dad's just saying now) which is where the georod plant is. Good! If something happens there tonight, we'll be able to react! I almost hope something DOES happen, because we'll all be together, those supervillains won't know WHAT hit them, Trigger Harpy and Forte and Lightning White and ShyFire and EVERYONE all coming down on them like a bunch of super-bricks. That was a terrible simile but I'm way too excited to

Is this it? THIS IS IT! Oh wow, it's a brand new building, it looks like it's just been built. Okay, apparently it hasn't EVEN been built (Dad is saying), it's still in the middle of construction but most of the lower floors are 'done', it's just the upper levels that aren't. One of Mr Falchion's buildings apparently—hah, I knew he was involved—all construction's been halted on it for the past week while his architects 'check' what's been done, except of course there's no checking going on, just super-secret super-meetings of super-heroes!

"You're being very careful."

That was C2. Hang on—

[Auto-Transcribe: ON]

"—have to be," Mum said. "Any slip now could prove fatal."

"Forming a fellowship like this is risky, especially in these fragile early days," Dad said. "Just bringing everyone together has taken months of careful planning, we can't afford to let anything go wrong—can't afford to be anything but totally paranoid."

"That explains your frequent communication blackouts," C2 said. "Charlotte mentioned them to me."

"Yes, we've done everything in person, with as much anti-monitoring equipment and surveillance countermeasures as we could employ—which, believe me, was a lot. If things go well tonight then we can relax a little, start to recruit some of the outliers, but to begin with ... so many of these things collapse before they get going. We need everyone we can get, but we have to be careful in how we go about getting them."

The lower levels of the building are mostly parking, it seems, Dad's been driving up through them. There aren't any other cars around, but I can see lots of security robots—they're all active, too. I've never seen this kind before, they're big and square with no visible weapons, but I guess they've got stun-batons or some other non-lethal thing, pop-out guns with tranq rounds or something, I don't know. If Daniel was here he'd probably go nuts over them. We're on the third level now, Dad's parking the car, there must be two dozen security robots on this level alone—and they're definitely doing their job, because I feel totally secure. Gotta finish this entry now because we're getting out, they're already telling me to hurry up—more later!
