So weird to just be sitting in Motoplasm's house eating toast and drinking tea. Mum and Dad are out doing something mysterious, 'final preparations' apparently. C2's still sleeping, when I woke up I was kind of draped over her. It took ages to untangle myself. Really didn't want to wake her up like that, I bet she'd get really embarrassed. At least I learnt something about myself. Apparently I'm a sleep-hugger.
Anyway, after I took a quick shower and got dressed (Mum and Dad brought clothes for me and C2 with them) I came out to the kitchen thing. Motoplasm was (is) sitting reading a newspaper with all of this breakfast stuff already laid out, it looks really nice actually. So now I'm having breakfast and writing this. Motoplasm is reading an article that he doesn't agree with, he's doing the same thing Dad does, arguing with the paper.
...
This is WAY too normal.
...
At least Motoplasm looks better today.
"How are you feeling?"
"Oh, just fine. Advantage of plasmakinesis, I heal up fast."
He seems to be in a good mood. Maybe he's excited about the new superteam thing too, even though he said about just concentrating on this neighbourhood he must miss the old days.
"Where's The Force?"
"Still sleeping. Never been an early riser, that one."
...
This tea is really nice. It's kind of thick, that's the wrong word but I can't think of a better one.
"Is there vanilla in this tea?"
"Could be. Mal buys all sorts, they're a weakness of his. Let's see now ... today we're having Hornian Brushwood with—ah, you were right—vanilla and grace."
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Grace?"
"It's a herb. Helps with digestion."
"Oh."
Whatever it is, it's nice. At home we just have, well, 'tea'.
"Whoa, nice hair! You ever hear of something called product?"
Apparently Shade is around. He looks irritatingly happy. I won't dignify his comments with a reply.
"What you writing?"
"Private thoughts. Stop trying to see."
"Hey, just taking an interest. Any bacon left?"
Now Shade's helping himself to all the food. Motoplasm's just letting him, I really think he gives him too much freedom. What, exactly, is the relationship there, anyway? He comes in and out of Motoplasm's house as he likes, eats his food, argues with him, scatters sarcasm and stupid jokes around the place and generally acts VERY disrespectfully, what's all that about?
...
Tea's finished, toast's finished. Shade's still stuffing his face. Motoplasm's still reading his paper.
"Good morning, everyone."
Thank goodness, C2's up. She's wearing some of the clothes Mum and Dad brought, a baggy sweatshirt and loose jeans.
"Hey, Ceet! Come sit next to me—"
"C2's sitting next to ME. C2, sit here. Would you like some tea? It's good!"
"Thank you, yes."
...
Maybe I'll have another cup too, just to accompany my best friend.
...
"Hey Moto, you done with the sports section?"
...
...
C2's just about finished her tea, thank goodness. I'm getting restless.
"We should go take a walk! C2, you and me!"
Motoplasm is looking at me.
"Oh, don't worry, we'll be fine—I've still got Dad's super-strength and toughness, and Mum's super-agility, and your plasmakinesis, and The Force's power—"
"Child—"
"Motoplasm, please. I've never been in a big city before, not properly, last night I didn't get to appreciate it at all. We'll be back before you know it, and if you're worried about those gangers coming back don't be, seriously, they're not coming anywhere NEAR this place after Mum and Dad sorted them out, those two are totally terrifying to bad guys when they're together."
"Don't have to tell me."
Motoplasm is weakening, I can tell. Maybe if I give him my 'look', the one that works on Dad...
"Fine. If you head on left out of the house you'll get to a village down the road. You've got half an hour, any longer and I'm sending Mal out looking for you."
"Okay! Come on, C2, you finished eating, right?"
"Yes."
"Hey, I'll come with—"
"NO. This is me and my friend doing friend stuff together, there's no room in my plan for a third wheel."
"Perhaps another time," C2 said.
"Yeah, whatever. Whatever."
Shade's not happy but who cares, I really need to get out and take a walk. For a few reasons. Hang on, I'm going to switch to LUS. Just in case.
