Argh so false alarm, Daniel was just getting excited over one of his simulations doing something unexpected. No, sorry, because it did something expected. He got all excited because his simulation did exactly what he thought it would.
I may never truly understand my brother.
"Did you turn the LUS on?" Daniel asks me.
"Yes, it's recording now. C2, are you turning yours on, too?"
"Do you think I should?"
"It couldn't hurt," Daniel says. He's smiling at C2. "It'll help with my debug stuff, too, there was some weirdness when Charlotte rezzed last time, I think I got rid of the glitch that was causing that but it's always good to have multiple sources of debug data. By the way, C2, you might notice some weird stuff with the LUS at first, I know we went through calibration together but even so—basically, the more you use it the better it'll get, you remember our discussion about the feedback cycle. I've actually made a few changes since then, the processing time in particular is a lot quicker now—not that you'll notice that. Well, hopefully not, if you notice it then that means there's a problem, haha. Um, right now there's a three second buffer to get around a couple of messy parsing issues, which incidentally helps make the 'style' of the entries smoother. It's kind of brute force but the way it works turned out to be pretty elegant, if I say so myself. Actually, maybe I should just keep that ... well, I'll check the reports and make a call later."

Now Daniel's fiddling again, how long does it take to set up a stupid teleporter anyway? HOURS it seems.
"Now," Daniel says, "I'm aiming pretty high because I don't want you two to rez into anything solid, so you should go out-of-phase for your entry, Curls."
"What about C2? She can't go out-of-phase!"
"Ah, I've anticipated your concerns and have prepared an excellent buffer that should ensure C2 comes to no harm."
Pillows. He's got pillows and he's duct-taping them around C2. She doesn't seem NEARLY concerned enough about this.
"C2, you don't seem NEARLY concerned enough about this!"
"I trust Daniel."
So do I, but that doesn't mean I'd let him teleport me somewhere with only a couple of pillows for protection.
"There," Daniel says, after checking the pillows. C2 looks kind of funny. "That should do it. You both ready?"
"I've been ready for HOURS."
"I am ready, Daniel."
Daniel grins. "So what are we waiting for? Let's get you to Powerstone. I'll be in contact with you through your Opals, I predict a four to nine second delay in audio due to all the routing I'd have to do to get a voice channel open, so let's just stick to text, okay?"
