A ball of light hit Lake Superior with enough force to throw water high into the night air. Immediately, the light sank and sped southwest. Two ships hauling iron ore saw the impact and reported the sighting to the Coast Guard. They thought an airplane had hit the water.
The underwater light speeding away, however, remained unmentioned.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
There were strange things on Lake Superior, strange sights, and sounds. Legend said the Lake did not give up her dead. The sailors on the ore haulers tended to not really talk of such things.
This lake was an ocean more than a thousand feet deep and damned cold at the best of times.
Airplanes had disappeared over this lake. Ships vanished on this lake.
The men on the ships plying the waters of Lake Superior would have a different view.
In all simplicity, they would call the lake, bitch.
