Chapter 44: Encounter with Harvey

Chapter 44: Encounter with Harvey

“Name’s Harvey by the way. You’re…”

“Ivo, Ivo Graham.”

“So… Ivo Graham? Your name is quite unique. It’s very similar to my Master’s. Seeing you here, you must want to enroll in the academy.”

“Of course. Isn’t that the goal of everyone who comes to this remote island?” Ivo stood up while straightening his clothes. The warm scarf around his neck was stored inside the interdimensional artifact.

As for the snow orchid… Ivo looked at the students who were looking at him with intense gazes mixed with envy and jealousy. If he had thrown it away now, everything would have turned into a more troublesome problem.

With mana surging from his body, Ivo burned the snow orchid to nothing. He completely ignored all the gazes that seemed to want to kill him as if they never existed.

Since when did a small matter like this bother him. Even without the Heart of Fearlessness, Ivo wouldn’t be afraid of those insignificant people who stared at him from afar without daring to act.

Harvey, who didn’t understand the meaning of the Snow Orchid flower, didn’t know why the people around him became so fierce and filled with such strong hostility. His eyes could see the Intent directed at Ivo and most of them were formed into black lines.

As for Ivo, he ignored all the lines and didn’t care about them. What caught his attention was that Ivo didn’t emit a single Intent or emotion. He seemed colorless in his eyes and was unconsciously pensive before Ivo’s voice woke him up.

“Hey, don’t look at someone’s Intent without their permission. It’s rude.”

“You know?”

“Of course. You stood there staring at me in a daze and looking up at the sky. And looking at the magic tool you’re carrying, it’s not hard to guess what specialty you’ve formed.”

Ivo pointed at the magic tool hanging and bound by chains. While people didn’t know who this man was, Ivo knew him very clearly.

In White Snow Academy, players must at least know 3 important characters that they must stay away from during the final test to survive. Several veteran players after 9 years of release started to discuss this and finally, 3 names came out as the winners.

Neilson, Veronica Ashburn, Harvey.

The 3 players, one of whom was himself, discussed this for 3 full hours. In the end, it was concluded that they were troublesome characters that if someone decided to start from Ernest's town when they managed to get the nameless alchemist's inheritance, try to kill Neilson or Harvey.

Veronica is impossible to target for a very clear reason. Even so, don't get close to that crazy woman for whatever reason.

If you think you can fix it, God have mercy on your soul.

Interestingly, Raven was not even nominated as a character to avoid. Ivo and one of the users in the community even suggested approaching Raven if possible. Raven is a Regressor who has many secrets and it can be a good weapon if the player manages to dig up the secrets she has.

Ivo with User ‘LOVE_DESTINY_WITH_MY_HEART’ and the person who supported his argument ‘Supereme_Emperor_Of _This_WORLD’ had a heated debate with user ‘NO1_Hater_Of_That Damn Regressor’.

If he remembered the past, Ivo could only laugh silently. It wasted 3 hours of his precious life just to argue with Raven’s hater no 1.

In the end, Raven was removed from the nomination because neither party wanted to give in. Ivo even wrote to other players that Raven was put into a special category where there would be a special post that would discuss it.

Regarding Neilson, most players know who he is. They met Neilson even if they started from another region or must have heard about that person. Veronica is famous for her icy beauty and can be found after all the incidents on Ernest Island are over. Veteran players must have met Veronica even if only once.

While Harvey, not the new players know who he is. Even many veteran players didn't know who Harvey was. As for the person who nominated Harvey…

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

That was me.

The person in front of him was really a problem. He was a crazy maniac fighter who knew no mercy and had no compassion. There were many crazy maniacs in this world, but Harvey was truly unique.

And that was reflected in what he was about to do now.

“Can read Intent and can hide Emotions, Stay calm even when under the gaze of many people, and lastly…” Sharp eyes analyzed Ivo so accurately. The upright posture he displayed and his two feet that were firmly planted on the ground but seemed too light to move.

Every movement behind his muscles and Ivo’s habits were clearly visible in Harvey’s eyes.

“Not only did you perform the core form of the cloud step technique as well as stepping through the void, even though you didn’t use any martial arts this time, the form was never wrong.” His lips lifted as he looked at Ivo.

“...!!!”

Ivo calmly circulated all the mana within his body and took a step back. His body seemed as light as a cloud as an air fist that penetrated the air wall and chased after him.

The moment his foot touched the ground, Ivo performed an acrobatic move as he stepped through the void in the air. He dodged the attack by a hair’s breadth causing his black hair to flutter.

Ivo gave a gaze like a calm ocean without ripples. The third manifestation had already ignited at full power and his head began to calculate and predict Harvey’s attacks.

“How interesting. I thought you were just showing off that martial technique on purpose. But seeing you do it so perfectly, you really are the Real Deal.”

“Not just two types of foot arts, you even used the Rooted in the Earth Footstep.” Harvey accurately saw the slight change in the position of Ivo’s feet. In the eyes of others, Ivo might not have done anything, but Harvey saw it clearly.

Against someone who could hide his Intent and emotions, it meant that no amount of insults or insults would affect him. Perhaps a direct confrontation was the only way to see the depth of this person’s waters.

Harvey retracted his fist and assumed a fighting posture. His posture did not seem to change, but Ivo, who had known this person during his playing days at the White Snow Academy, knew that the person in front of him was serious.

Stone Mountain Fist…

First Manifestation…

The first to move was Harvey. It was not an air fist that broke through the air wall. But rather a prelude to the attack of the Stone Mountain Fist form.

‘The beginning of the journey.’

Ivo saw clearly the first form of the Stone Mountain Fist that Harvey used. His head instantly guided his body through instinct to step back away from Harvey who was taking large strides towards him.

Assimilation.

Under the influence of the first Manifestation, his body moved as his feet took root on the ground. In his eyes, the shape of the entire movement of the rock mountain fist was reflected by Harvey's figure and another martial art appeared reflected by Ivo's figure in there.

The two martial arts assimilated each other, and the loser would eventually merge into a stepping stone to a more superior martial art. At the end of the reflection...

"I lost." With a faint smile, Ivo admitted this. In terms of technique, the end of the reflection showed a martial art that was superior to the rock mountain fist. But with the physical strength he currently had, he would never be able to defeat this monster.

Ivo retracted his stance and did nothing.

Even so, Harvey didn't care and was already in front of him.

Harvey's fist was right in front of Ivo's face. Even under the pressure of an attack that could kill him if hit, Ivo remained calm without the slightest intention of dodging.

A thin wall that looked like a membrane surrounded Ivo and prevented the fist from reaching him. When Harvey's hand began to enter the Membrane, it felt as if Ivo was far away at the end of the world and made his attack miss. Meanwhile, Ivo, who was protected by the membrane, remained standing without moving an inch.

“Hooo… I didn’t think I would miss. Too bad… too bad.” Harvey waved his hand as he looked up at the sky. Although there was nothing up there, someone must have stopped the attack.

“As the saying goes, there’s a time for everything and it seems like now isn’t the time to be having fun.”

“Yeah, we’ll meet again, Ivo Graham. Don’t fail here, or else…” Harvey paused for a moment and patted Ivo’s shoulder. His words didn’t match the handsome face this man had. “A person I made a friend who fails is as good as dead in my eyes. And you know what happens if you fail, right?”

“Well, if you don’t know, you’ll find out soon enough. So don’t fail, okay?”

With that, Harvey left, leaving Ivo alone.

“What a troublesome person.” Ivo left the people who were still amazed at Harvey’s attack. His goal was now clear, he had to complete the registration to enter the White Snow Academy.

"I didn't expect to meet him so soon."

Harvey's words, Ivo didn't really care. Since he had already decided to enter the White Snow Academy, Harvey's threat would not affect him.

Halfway through, a young man's voice rang in Ivo's ears.

‘Kid, release the magic you used on that guy. Don’t make me take unnecessary action.’

Oh right. Ivo glanced at the sky and his surroundings. The entire space seemed quiet but based on what happened today, he must be watching everything in White Snow Academy.

The thin threads that were almost one with the light disintegrated into Mana particles. The connection he had with the threads was cut off and Ivo let out a sigh of relief.

Now, should I kill that guy or not?

While thinking this, the calm eyes Ivo had slowly returned to normal. The third manifestation was released and lightly, Ivo walked.

Maybe not. Although that guy was on the list of people to stay away from, and he was a madman who really had a bad obsession, Harvey wasn’t that bad. Moreover, he might be able to put on a good show before the incident happened.

“With his nature, I wonder how Raven will react.”

Ivo laughed and couldn’t wait for the show.
