Chapter 41: strange world

Ivo replied to that with a calm gaze. He raised his hand and gave Meryl a gentle push.

“Ms. Valentine, people will misunderstand if you get too close to me.” With a slightly high voice, Ivo took a step back. While holding Meryl’s hand back, the mana flow flowed and changed so quickly.

Before the magic was finished being cast, Meryl immediately pulled her hand back and looked at Ivo with a strange and disbelieving gaze. Very clearly, she could feel the death energy slowly fading from where Ivo had held her hand.

“You really have interesting magic. Besides, you are crazy enough to use this magic in White Snow Academy.” Meryl said while hiding her hand behind her back.

“You praise me too much. What I have is just a magic that is not even worth mentioning.” Ivo smiled slightly. His calm eyes without the slightest ripple slowly began to lose their shape and returned to his normal eyes.

A blue screen appeared in front of Ivo forcing him to stop the third Manifestation.

[The constant use of mana energy that you use slowly changes the structure and direction of development that you can go. Specialty begins to form and will develop at a plodding speed due to the influence of the player's extremely pure mana.

Mana development direction: Martial artist (0.1%)]

[Warning, once the path of mana development has reached 10% development it cannot be reversed. Please think carefully about the direction of growth that you want to go.]

Specialty has begun to form. I plan to advance as a Magician, so development towards Martial arts is Unnecessary. As long as the development stage is still below 10%, the nature of the mana in the player's body is so pure that it will return the direction of mana development back to 0%.

This can be said to be one of the advantages that players have. With the information panel, players can monitor the development and direction that they really want to go.

Ivo closed the screen and looked at Meryl who was looking at him with a curious gaze. This girl never took her eyes off him even for a moment.

I really want to get out of here.

Ivo sighed softly as he raised his hand. The subtle magical energy flowed and formed a wall inside her head. Like a fortress made of wood and completely closed, the spectrum of thoughts that flowed out would be blocked. Although it could not completely block what this woman did, but this was enough for now.

At least this would give this woman a little trouble to read my mind right now. Too bad weak magic like this would not work for Observer Ary. Even with the third manifestation, Ary would still be able to read her mind directly if He wanted to.

"Oh, interesting." Meryl's lips lifted slightly when she saw the magic Ivo used. Rather than that, what interested her more was the pure form of mana that Ivo had.

It did not escape her senses. Her eyes saw so clearly with her high level Mana sense. She was about to touch the cheek of the man in front of her but Ivo took 2 steps back and kept his distance.

"You are really full of surprises, Mr. Graham. I really look forward to how the 6 years we will spend in this place will be." Meryl smiled as she said and stepped beside Ivo.

She did nothing and just stood beside him. Her cheeks were slightly red like a peach that emitted a sweet aroma. When people were about to melt at Meryl's behavior…

Ivo had goosebumps all over his body. No matter what he did, Meryl would continue to walk beside him without saying anything else. She just stood beside him while occasionally looking at Ivo and showing a blushing expression like a couple who had just fallen in love.

This…

Ivo didn't know what else to do. After walking for 1 hour, Ivo sat on a tram that was heading to the White Snow Academy administration building. Beside him, Meryl also sat down while showing a sweet smile.

Damn. If I could use teleportation magic right now, I wouldn't hesitate to get away from this woman. Ivo sighed softly and saw the gazes directed at him.

In the carriage next to him, dozens of students were gathered while peeking out of the windows. They would occasionally look at Meryl as if she were the woman who would illuminate their world.

But when all of that was directed towards Ivo, the gazes of everyone in this place changed.

This is probably what they would say if they didn’t cast the sound barrier spell.

“FUCK!!! Who the hell is that guy? Did you see how that girl next to him kept sticking to him from the beginning until now?”

“Me too, bro. I don’t believe there’s an angel like her in this world. I’ve been a student here for 3 years… this is the first time I’ve met an angel like her. Even my girlfriend can’t compare to her.” One of the men shouted while wailing.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

“What did you say!!!”

The man was dragged by a woman with a face full of anger.

Bro… your heart’s voice… we will remember it until the end of your life. Thank you for voicing what we couldn’t say out loud.

The men there prayed for the poor man’s safety. They looked back at Ivo and Meryl who didn’t speak much after getting on the Tram.

A strong feeling of jealousy arose in their hearts. If it were them, then there wouldn’t be a second that they wouldn’t spend except to attract the attention of a woman like Meryl. They wanted to scream ‘Why does someone like him have to sit next to an angel like her? Why not me?’

‘Why…’

While people were watching with jealous gazes, Ivo felt a chill that he couldn’t explain. He glanced at the empty carriage that only contained him and Meryl without anyone else besides the two of them.

‘I don’t know why I feel like someone is watching me so intently since I got on this tram.’ Ivo touched his neck and could feel a warm feeling but the feeling he felt from his surroundings was so cold.

“Are you okay?” Meryl was about to touch Ivo’s neck and grab his hand but Ivo quickly dodged it. She could have forced Ivo because her physical strength was much stronger than this man’s, but seeing Ivo dodge it so nimbly, only admiration grew in her heart.

She wrote all of this down in her mental notes. ‘The mind shield he cast earlier was quite troublesome. It was a simple spell but the effect was truly amazing. Almost like an intermediate stage spell.’

I can tell my father about this. Not many people can do something like this. Meryl was even quite interested in learning the method Ivo used.

Raising low-level magic to intermediate might be an amazing achievement for a Magician in the first awakening stage. But reversing magic from intermediate to low-level without destroying the foundation of the magic itself, only Masters could do it.

Her father could definitely do it. It was natural since he was someone in the third awakening stage. But for a kid who wasn’t even 20 years old or had reached the second awakening stage to do it?

I can’t compare myself to this person. I don't know what my father saw, but he seemed very interested in Ivo.

After more than 10 minutes, Ivo and Meryl walked out of the carriage and immediately headed to the administrative building.

There were several people like Ivo and Meryl who were about to register for the White Snow Academy. Although not too many because it was the last day of registration. Some of them were guided by senior students from the White Snow Academy who were in their second and third years.

If the student who registered was male, then the female senior would approach him and guide him. Conversely, if it was a female applicant, then the male senior would guide her.

This was a tradition that had developed at the White Snow Academy.

"Isn't this a unique tradition? Only in this place will you find a sight like this." Meryl said while looking at the administrative building. After a while, she continued. "Do you know what the reason for this tradition is, Mr. Graham?"

"I know."

The two of them walked together and attracted the attention of many students around. Among all the applicants, only Ivo and Meryl did not have a companion from a senior student. Even when someone tried to offer both of them, Ivo immediately refused firmly while Meryl moved closer to Ivo.

The two of them looked like a completely mismatched couple. Ivo was more like a worm who wasn't even worthy of the woman next to him.

Tsk… don't look at me with that face. Do you think I want to be in a situation like this?

Ivo complained in his head when he saw a small change in the expression of the senior who had just offered both of them. Ignoring everything around him, he walked into the administrative building.

When the large door made of white stone opened, the view inside was like a curtain that opened a different world. The cold wind from inside flowed out making some snow spots on his arms. What Ivo first saw in the middle of the room was a large statue carved with a transparent blue Jade like a diamond.

With the White Snow Academy logo carved on his clothes, the Human who stabbed his sword into the head of the terrifying Monster seemed to smile triumphantly. The carving was very fine and the details were so precise. Even the small wrinkles on his face were not missed.

“No matter how I look at it, this statue is truly amazing,” Meryl commented as she looked at the beauty of the statue. This was not her first time coming to this place and as the daughter of an Observer, she had come with her father several times.

“Don’t you think the statue is beautiful?”

“Everything in this place is just a waste of money if you ask me.” Ivo shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Without thinking, Ivo immediately parted ways with Meryl while asking one of the seniors in charge of registering.

The senior asked him to enter a room. Before he entered, Ivo looked back a little. There, Meryl did not take her eyes off Ivo once. She stared at him as if her eyes were glued to him. With her lips slowly lifting, Meryl waved her hand.

‘See you. We’ll meet again during the third test. Don’t disappoint me on that last test, Ivo Graham.’

Hearing the telepathy, Ivo only showed a small smile. ‘I return those words to you, Meryl Valentine.’

After that, the door closed and left Meryl standing in front of the statue alone. When they saw Meryl alone, several students tried to approach her and wanted to talk.

“Hey… do you… need…” The handsome senior who spoke slowly lost his words while looking blankly.

Several other students who were about to approach Meryl also stopped in their tracks. Staring at Meryl with the same blank stare and lost the color in her eyes. Everyone in this building, they stopped doing their tasks. Only Meryl herself seemed to still be able to move freely.

“He really is an interesting character, isn’t he? Not only can he block my talent, but his method of maintaining his composure is truly mysterious.” Meryl cheerfully spoke to herself.

“But… I am really impressed with him. Don’t you think so too, Balak?”

Beside Meryl, a human servant stood looking towards the door where Ivo entered. His gaze did not change at all and only nodded at Ms. Valentine’s words.

His voice was low and sounded strange when he replied to Ms. Valentine’s question. “I think so too.”

“Really? I didn’t expect the great Balak to say something like that.” Meryl said while touching the ice statue in front of her. The feeling was so real and the details were so accurate. Even Meryl who had seen this statue several times and remembered every detail of it couldn’t tell the difference from the real thing.

“Let’s talk outside. Maybe the atmosphere will be a little different.”

Meryl and Balak walked out of the administrative building. Her flawless, smooth hand casually touched the white door and it instantly opened wide.

Once again, she saw the scene of White Snow Academy. The students here stood frozen with blank stares. It was as if time had stopped but she could feel the cool breeze. The ground she stepped on seemed so real and the people in this place seemed so alive.

“For the first time, I can barely tell the difference between the real world and the fake world you created, Balak.”
