Chapter 21: Ivor Ashen, the beginning of his downfall (2)

“Die? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Ivo stood up with a calm expression.

Even though his body was now in the air, he couldn’t move and was forced to slowly fall. When the Levitation magic was stopped, Ivo touched the ground with one foot while looking at Ivor who was in front of him.

“I may not be able to defeat you but don’t expect you to be able to decide whether I live or die.”

While checking his grip, a pure blue Aura radiated from his body. It was pure Magic Energy that came from his body. Not from the mana crystal, but from his own body.

In the city of Ernest, there was a strict prohibition where one could not use magic without special permission.

Ivo who could not use magic at the moment, was not restricted by that rule. Because what he was practically using was not magic, but martial arts.

“Haaap….Hoooh…”

After exhaling, Ivor was already in front of him and slashed the dagger in his hand.

Ivo took one step back and dodged. When the second attack came, he took one step to the side and dodged it.

Ivor continued to try to slash but was perfectly avoided. Ivo did not seem too impressed by the attack launched at him.

Even so, he did not lower his guard.

I lost in physical strength. But that was all.

In terms of experience, instinct, and technique, I was better than this guy.

Besides, he was much weaker than when I was playing the game.

If I used the swordsmanship I developed against an opponent like this, it would just be an insult. Besides, I didn’t want to kill him.

No, this was such a good situation. The crazier he got, the better.

Ivo couldn’t help but realize that he was currently smiling. Seeing the person in front of him who was willing to die for the Regressor, the better for him.

He parried another attack aimed at his heart. The longer it took, the more he retreated and Ivor’s attacks became more vicious. He swung his dagger towards Ivo aimed at his vital point.

However, Ivo only looked at him with a gaze that always brought him nightmares.

Calmly, Ivo threw a mana crystal into the air and blocked the dagger that was coming towards him with his palm. Red blood flowed from his hand and his body was pushed back and fell.

The difference in physical strength was so great, no matter what, Ivo couldn’t match him for now.

But, fighting is not only about physical strength. Especially in a magical world like this.

“UGH…. What… what are you doing?” Ivor fell down while vomiting blood. His eyes became strange so he couldn’t see clearly around him.

A familiar feeling that he had felt before.

“This is… Poison?”

“Bingo. You deserve a hundred for guessing correctly.” Ivo clapped his hands.

“Since when???”

“Are you curious? I could answer it but you probably wouldn’t like it.”

Ivor coughed and his body collapsed to the ground. His mouth vomited blood and all his strength slowly disappeared. He tried to stand up but it was all in vain.

Meanwhile, Ivo caught the mana crystal that he had previously thrown into the air.

“Ivor Ashen… Son of the shadow king. The only son of the best assassin in the world. What an unfortunate fate to die not protecting your master, but dying from poison.”

“Isn’t that ironic?”

Ivo looked at Ivor Ashen who was suffering so badly. Seeing him suffer at this moment, Ivo felt no desire to help him. All he saw was a pitiful young man trying to escape from his family.

Ivo used healing magic to heal the wound on his hand. Although the weapon used by Ivor was a rather terrifying dagger, without magic energy, it was not very dangerous.

“Hey, don’t look at me like that. It was your own decision to try to fight me. I’m not asking for much, really. Just follow one order I give you and I will prevent Raven from dying at the hands of the Court of The Death.”

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“But now, not only is Raven in danger, but you will also die soon from the Poison.”

Ivo shook his head and was about to leave when Ivor’s voice rang in his ears.

“W-Wait. Please… Please… I don’t want… to die.”

“I don’t want… to die.”

“I…” Ivor couldn’t hold back the tears that flowed down his cheeks. He cried while feeling the pain of the Poison in his body.

With eyes that couldn’t even see clearly anymore, Ivor slowly raised his head.

“I don’t want to die.”

“That’s good.” Ivo smiled when he heard that.

“That’s a good resolution. I can help you, but can you hear my request?”

Ivor nodded slowly. When Ivo reached out his hand, he held it so tightly. Afraid to let go or even lose his grip for a moment.

“I… will do it.”

“Ah, great. Now I can help you.” Ivo touched Ivor’s head. The previously sealed mana sense slowly released.

The only reason I was able to seal this guy's mana sense was because of the restraining magic in the inn. Yeah, removing it was as easy as opening it since it was basically mana from my body.

After all, this was one of the techniques he personally developed after studying the structure of human anatomy and living things in this world. There were many restraining and sealing techniques in this world, but this was an original technique he created himself.

After trial and error, the hard work to create a mana sense sealing technique was successfully created. The information panel seemed to be aware of that as well.

[The Magic Sense Seal skill has been added to the list.]

[Magic Sense Seal

Description: A skill created by Ivo Graham after going through trial and error. Countless living things were sacrificed when he tried to bring this concept to reality. Even with the help of various parties, the ability to seal the magic sense by focusing on the nerves and brain structure was successfully created]

[Martial arts six manifestations one harmony

Description: Martial arts ability recreated by a player who has no talent after years of relentless effort. He knows that he is different from others, he spent his time and adventures as a martial artist and a few repetitions as a swordsman with no name to spare. With each repetition he did, he found a manifestation that suited him and harmonized it into one martial art. Now, that martial art appears again in this world.

Manifesting 6 forms and blending them into harmony into one complete martial art.

First manifestation: Assimilation

Description: Martial arts are not limited to one form. Countless differences give birth to various martial arts. Master them all and assimilate them into one perfect form.

Second manifestation: Endless

Description: Martial arts have no end. My battles never end and my pursuits never end. There is an end to everything, but I can't see it yet.

Third manifestation: tranquility

Description: Calm as the ocean without ripples. Seemingly harmless but deadly.

Fourth manifestation: Vast Sky

Description: The vast and endless sky. Compared to this world, humans are just someone who is not worthy of being mentioned. Martial arts can never match how high the sky is and how vast it is.

Fifth manifestation: Deep sea

Description: The ocean seems vast and has boundaries. However, what is seen in the eyes is sometimes deceiving. Humans seem amazed by the sky and are often deceived by the ocean. Martial arts, seem so magnificent and they often forget its essence. Too deceiving for those who are lulled.

Sixth manifestation: insignificant

Description: Endless search, the terrible realization of how helpless living beings are. However, this pursuit of martial arts brings its own meaning to life.

Harmony: As vast as the sky, as deep as the ocean, a small and insignificant human.

Description: This is the end of the martial arts I learned. Nothing is perfect because humans are not perfect creatures, therefore this martial art is far from finished and will never end. In front of this world, I am just an insignificant little human.]

“Looking back at this information, it has been quite a long time since I have used martial arts,” Ivo muttered as he read the information panel in front of him.

The last 10 characters he created before being in this world were completely Magicians. When he fully formed his specialty towards magicians, martial arts and swordsmanship was never used again.

It’s not that I don’t want to throw it away. It’s just that once someone’s specialty is formed, they can forget about advancing in other directions. As a Magician, he can’t use martial arts or swordsmanship. The same goes for the other way around.

Even our beloved Regressor can’t break this limitation.

Therefore, there is no such thing as a Magic Swordsman in this world. You have to choose between advancing as a Magician or as a martial artist.

Ivo closed the Information Panel and turned his gaze towards Ivor. He sat down weakly while still holding his hand tightly.

“You can let go of my hand now.”

“Oh, yeah… sorry.” With trembling hands, Ivor let go of the hand of the person he was about to kill.

With his mana senses back, dealing with the foreign mana in his body shouldn’t be a big problem.

Now, it was time to get to the main issue.

“I won’t ask you for much. One thing, when Raven invites you to go to the White Snow Academy’s Core Laboratory, take a Potion that was concocted there.”

“Potion? What kind of potion?”

“It’s a colorless potion that looks like water. It’s odorless and colorless. It doesn’t emit light or magic energy. Just bring it to me when you find it.”

Ivor just nodded. “I’ll just bring it to you, right?”

“Exactly. You’ll know where it is when you see it. Just bring it to my room.”

After saying that, Ivo turned around while checking the wound on his hand that had closed. The pain was still there but Ivo didn’t care much about it.

Ivor Ashen sat quietly as he watched Ivo leave. He no longer had any intention of chasing or killing Ivo.

Instead, he felt goosebumps all over his body.

“What kind of person is that. Who exactly is he?”

I was already certain that this would be an easy kill. The illusion magic he used through the magic scroll was the intermediate level magic, Horror in a dark place. It was impossible to get out of that illusion as long as one had fear in their heart.

Not only was he unfazed, but Ivo reversed his attack and trapped him in the inn. He also seemed to be able to seal one’s Mana senses!!!

That was the scariest thing. A human who hadn’t even reached the first awakening stage had access to two high-level magics and was able to seal one’s Mana senses so easily.

The only thing that came to his mind when he saw what Ivo could do…

He was truly just like his master, Raven Astrea.

Ivor slowly got up and left the place. In his heart, he still had many questions. But he knew, even if he asked Ivo, he wouldn’t like the answer.
