Chapter 29: “Now, which option will you choose, Ivor Ashen.”

Chapter 29: “Now, which option will you choose, Ivor Ashen.”

“Nothing interesting really. The laboratory chief of the White Snow Academy originally suspected us. But since there was no evidence for that suspicion, they ended up forcibly releasing us.” Ivor replied plainly.

This was the truth. There really wasn't much the academy could do in this matter. Losing the Potion right when Raven and Ivor appeared was indeed suspicious. This situation occurred when the two visited the laboratory,

White Snow Academy is indeed a large organization. But they were still too young. What they knew and the knowledge they had accumulated could not compare to the various large organizations on the continent.

They wouldn't be able to figure out how the method used by Ivor to steal this Potion. This was also the reason Ivo told this pathetic rat to steal something from White Snow Academy's core laboratory.

“Oh? Raven didn't investigate this matter further?” Ivo asked.

“No.”

“In that case, did you observe the change in eye color that Raven had?”

“No.” Ivor gave the same answer.

“Hmm, interesting.” Ivo looked at Ivor's figure sitting in front of him.

“Is that the only question you have?”

“More or less. I've gotten the information I need. Honestly, it's quite interesting.” Ivo laughed a little while thinking about this.

Raven's refusal to help with the incident he caused, was very strange when he saw it.

With the Regressor's goal of getting White Snow Academy's help, this was a good moment to make a good impression. All he needed to do was use those eyes and he could tell that the person who stole the Potion was beside him.

'I don't care whether he uses the eye or not. What I'm curious about is, why he refuses to assist White Snow Academy. Isn't that what he came to this cursed place for?'

Suddenly seeing Raven playing passively, was a little troublesome.

“Now, how am I going to throw oil into this huge blaze...” Ivo was talking to himself in his head.

As much as possible, he wanted to play around with the Regressor a bit. It wouldn't be fun if everything went the way he had seen it go in the game.

Ivo wanted to at least look for something different. A different scene and a different end result. This was something he always did when playing Destiny.

Glancing at Ivor, Ivo had a brilliant idea. Maybe this would make something different on this island test.

But before that...

“Please enjoy.” Masha arrived with a large plate of neatly cut meat steaks. With 5 kinds of sauce variants and butter melting on the meat, as well as the aroma of the herbs used.

Ivo put Raven's problem aside and started enjoying the food in front of him.

“Don't you want to try it?” Ivo looked at Ivor who was sitting still like a statue. The gaze he was directing was somehow strange.

“Don't be shy. Just eat and enjoy. Let me tell you, the food here is really good and really top-notch.”

While saying that, Ivo picked up the neatly arranged Sirloin meat. The expression he showed was completely different from before.

The more I look at this guy, the more I'm convinced that he can change the look and expression he has.

Ivo had already shown how he could hide those emotions and eyes, but seeing him casually change the cold and manipulative personality he showed, Ivor was even more horrified.

He didn't even dare to touch the food in front of him.

Was this food poisoned?

No, there was no way this was just poison! She must have planted something in it like the parasites my family has.

That's right! This guy and that girl are probably acquaintances. They must be working together to trap me like before. They already know each other!

I'm sure of it!

You won't be able to trap me again damn it.

“Why? You don't want to eat it?” Ivo finished his first plate and started picking up more meat. While picking up another pile of meat, Ivo started eating his second portion.

“No need. If there's no more, I'll leave.” Ivor slowly got up and was about to leave but stopped his steps.

“Customer, are you leaving now? I've already prepared this drink. Besides, your friend has already ordered this drink.” Masha stood in front of Ivor with the smile she always showed.

“Friend?”

Me and Him?

Ivor wanted to refuse but refrained. He had already observed this inn when he came and had investigated it. The only worker in this place was the woman currently in front of him.

She was an ordinary woman who didn't even have magic energy in her body. Her strength was even quite low when compared to ordinary humans.

But...

Ivor looked at Masha and Ivo. Both were so similar and both were quite weak. But the latter could bring him to his knees and defeat him so easily.

She definitely wasn't an ordinary person. This woman was surely just like Ivo. She must be hiding her strength.

Right!!! It must be like that.

This person is the one who sealed my power when I wanted to kill Ivo. She was definitely working together to kill me.

This woman is definitely related to Ivo. Otherwise, how could she have set me up when I was at this inn that time?

While continuing to think of other possibilities, Ivor put on a forced smile while gritting his teeth secretly.

“Sorry.” With that, Ivor sat back down together with the person who almost killed him.

“Please enjoy. Your friend has ordered this for you.” Masha served them both Mint wine in glass glasses.

Ivor just looked at it and did not touch anything. In contrast, Ivo had already devoured the third plate.

Masha who saw it frowned slightly. Seeing Ivor not touching any of the food, she asked. “Customer, is there a problem with the food and drink?”

“N-no. I just don't have the appetite to eat.” Ivor refused politely. As he looked at Masha's increasingly sullen face, his heartfelt another sense of dread.

Damn...damn...damn...

If these two join forces and attack me right now, I won't be able to win. Even if I have the methods and abilities I learned when I was with my father, they are most likely useless.

Ivo has probably told me everything and knows more about the shadow king than even I, his son.

This woman beside him must be a Magician who hides her power.

Not only was Ivo dangerous in this place, but this woman was far more dangerous than Ivo.

“Then what about the drink? Is there something wrong with the drink?” Masha asked again.

Hearing her slightly different tone than usual, Ivor immediately shook his head

“I-I'll drink it,” Ivor said as calmly as possible.

He forcefully drank the drink in front of him and could feel the fresh flavor of the wine combined with the coolness of the mint. It was so refreshing and without realizing it Ivor had finished it all.

“I'll be there if you need me,” Masha said softly while pointing towards the reception desk near the entrance.

After leaving the two, Ivor was still looking at the empty glass he had just finished.

I can order it again, right?

No, you can't. You can't. What if this is the same trick Ivo played? There might be something in it.

Damn... even so, this drink tastes amazing.

Unlike Ivor who was so worried and very cautious, Ivo didn't care much and continued to enjoy the meat he ordered. The large plate of meat was already finished by himself.

“That was really good...” Ivo muttered.

Now, it's probably time to pour oil on the fire and make a bigger mess. At this point, even I don't know what the future holds.

But, isn't this what makes life interesting?

“Ah, you know what, I heard something interesting recently,” Ivo said with a smile on his face.

While gasping, Ivor felt an unnerving feeling and goosebumps all over his body. He looked at Ivo with a horrified gaze.

This person...

And like a hammer hitting right in front of his head, his eyes widened when he heard Ivo's words.

“Are you interested in hearing it?” Ivo said casually.

When he saw Ivor's reaction he was very wary but also showed a hint of curiosity, the corners of his lips lifted slightly.

“There's no need to be so wary. Think of it as how I'll slightly increase that person's chances of being saved from the Court of the Death. What's more, this will be quite useful to Raven.”

This... Ivor didn't know whether he should listen to it or not. But, when his master's name was mentioned, he became even more tense. Ivo's words seemed to bewitch him and control him to continue hearing what this person had to say.

Leave. I must leave here immediately.

I can't get involved any further than this person. But, if it's really something important.

Two conflicting thoughts appeared in his mind. Ivor could not choose between the best options for his master.

Seeing the expression on Ivor's face, he showed a smirk. With just a small push, this person in front of him would bring such a big problem to Raven. A catalyst that would cause repercussions that even he could not imagine.

“If you are interested, I can tell you about it. But if not, then I won't force you.”

“Now, which option will you choose, Ivor Ashen.”
