Chapter 9: The Discussion

It was night already, the crowds that were chasing us had now gone. But sometimes when I look out of the windows, I still saw some people walking past the inn glaring at my room when they saw me.

The people in this world were quite odd, they considered me, a man who could not use magic as a non-human creature and chased me as if I was a witch in the middle ages.

This time was night so we were now about to have dinner together, Prince Hoster told me this inn belonged to a mayor, who was a lord that controlled the town. Its price was very expensive to rent so only high-ranking nobles could stay here, Hoster was quite a rich man to me, he rented most of the inn's rooms.

Hoster also told me that the currency that the Attenta Kingdom and the Warsaw Kingdom used were different. But every trade market in every place of any country on this continent has currency converters, you just need to hand your money to a trader and that person would convert your money to that Kingdom's currency.

We were waiting for dinner, the owner of the inn and her daughter were making the meals in the kitchen for us. Hoster not just rented most of the inn's rooms but also burned his money to the inn's owner to prioritize his people's meals.

The dining tables around were full of Warsaw soldiers, Reimi and their rulers, who were Prince Hoster and Princess Shera. Only I was an outsider but also invited to eat by this Princess, that little girl was so kind to a stranger like me.

But Shera and Reimi made me feel pleasant but also doubted, both were very different in the way they believe me. Reimi would surely keep her distance from me but she always obeyed Shera and would also obey me if Shera ordered her to do it.

About Shera, she seemed to doubt my words and did not completely believe what I said but she kept believing me, even tried to be friendly as if to become my friend.

Maybe Princess was fooling herself by believing what I said, she wanted to make friends with me truly...or she was fooling me. But I saw Shera did not similar to that type of person, she was kind to me very strangely but pure kind, did not ask me for owing her.

Shera, Reimi and Hoster were now sitting together at a dining table, they were waiting for the meal. The Warsaw soldiers are sitting separated from them, they did not have the authority to sit together with their rulers, they did not even look directly at their rulers as if they did not have permission to do it.

About Reimi, she

was an exception, she was very trusted by Shera or she was that Princess's closest guard so that was why Reimi could sit with her rulers.

About me, instead of sitting with Shera or Reimi at the dinner, I chose an empty table and sat at it, I wanted to keep my distance from those girls for my safety. If I knew these girls for too long then I would be very worried about them if they get in struggled, to jail myself alone in four walls would be the best way.

I lost some of my memory when I got to this other world, maybe I had used to be alone for a long time so I did not have struggled to keep myself away from Shera and Reimi.

I didn't want to be so long with anyone though I was very caring about them, I wanted to be friends with Shera and Reimi truly. This time must be a good chance for me to move on by opening myself up with those girls but...I was scared to stay with them for some reason.

Shera, Reimi and Hoster would depart from Ailia town to return to their homeland, I did not know where to go in this strange world so I chose to follow the girls.

But should I keep following these girls after returning to their homeland? I didn't want to disturb them by staying with them. I felt I must be far from Shera and Reimi after that though I would keep in touch with them in case I need them to help me to find a job.

This world was a fantasy world with swords and magic, but even if that world was my previous world or not, I would need money, a fine place to stay and a job to live. I would keep in touch with Shera after staying far from her after departing, I would try to find somewhere to stay and a job for me alone.

If I could not find a job in this fantasy world then I would return to Shera to ask for her help. She was a Princess so I must have more advantages in finding a job with a fine salary, maybe I could ask her to let me live somewhere fine too.

But maybe I have thought too much, I should focus on eating right now, let's think about my future in this fantasy world later.

Hoster had ordered to be served with the most priced meals so the preparation for the dinner must take lots of time. I was wondering how much money Hoster has left, maybe the King - Hoster's father was very disappointed in his son when he handed his son a lot of money and to see him burn all of the money.

This guy was a truly playboy for spending too much money for such a simple dinner. Hoster's homeland has just gone out of the coup and he burned his money as if he was on a holiday with his people.

30 minutes later, seemed like the dinner has already been done after being cooked in the kitchen. The owner of the inn and her daughter were bringing the meals to us, they looked to be busy but also happy to bring us the meal.

I could smell the food flavors from here, the food must be very delicious! I wanted to eat after sniffing the food smell from far away.

"Yes! Yes! Sorry for making you customers wait, here are your meals." - The owner's daughter was bringing the meals to the soldiers, she seemed very energetic and happy

In a short time, the meals have being brought out completely, Shera, Reimi, Hoster and the soldiers were enjoying the hot meals.

About me, I was wondering why my meal was being prepared so long, after waiting for 3 minutes, my meal had been brought out and placed on my dining table by the owner of the inn.

"Here is your meal, mister! Enjoy."

I looked at my meal and noticed that the meal has been very poorly made, it also stank as if this meal has been left for days without no one eating.

The owner that brought me the meal stood in front of me while standing still, she was standing reverse to me so I didn't see her facial expression properly, she was whispering or something.

"Powerless are just useless...enjoy the meal...dog." - The owner whispered from behind and even glared at me a few times before she got away

I didn't think the racism toward powerless people was very extreme in this world but I ignored that problem. At least I must fill my stomach with something first before thinking to do the other things, of course, I won't eat this shit!

"Mister, hey! Did your meal need to be made better?" - The owner's daughter asked me and seemed very pure to not anything about the reason her mom did this to me

"That's okay for me, kid! I don't want to trouble your mom." - I didn't want to get this little girl to get involved, she was cute, I...wanted to pat her...okay, let's stop thinking about lolis

"Okay?" - The little girl seemed curious about my word

"That word means alright in my homeland."

"You are strange, mister! But anyway, if you have anything unsatisfied with our meal, please say that problem to my mom, she will take care of it for you." - The little girl ran toward her mother after saying to me

"Mom! Can I go to uncle Olp's now? I want to go there to play."

"Yay!" - Reya immediately ran in joy out of the inn

Princess Shera, who was supposed to eat with her people suddenly raised her head to look around non-stop. Shera stopped looking and stared her eyes at me when she found me, maybe she was wondering why I didn't sit with her.

Shera later stood up from her table, grabbed her meal and walked toward me, she later sat next to me. Reimi also followed Shera, she also grabbed her meal and bowed toward me before sitting opposite me, Reimi started eating as usual when she sat down.

"Sir Rigen, what's wrong? Why you didn't sit with me? Did I make any problems that you see annoying?" - Shera asked me lightly in nervous

"No, Princess! I just want to be alone for a while." - I just wanted to have some space to think if I should be staying with you two or not

"Oh, that's so? I'm sorry if I bothered you, Sir Rigen." - Shera deeply apologized to me though she did nothing wrong, what was wrong with this Princess?

Shera later noticed my meal, her face seemed very mad when my meal was fully poorly made. Shera squeezed her hands tight while holding a wooden fork, the fork has been broken in half.

Of course, I didn't intend to put any of those manmade poops in my mouth. I was just thinking about heading upstairs to take some of my MRE packs to eat instead.

"Hey! You woman! Why did you treat Sir Rigen so badly like that? Apologize to him now and make him another meal!" - Shera shouted loud to the inn's owner when she was talking to a Warsaw soldier

The atmosphere before that was very bustle and cheerful, but after the words of Shera, it has gone to be a little bit tense.

After hearing what Shera said, the inn's owner slowly walked toward her and also glared at my meal while walking. That was now standing very close to Shera but her face kept raising as if she didn't respect her customer at all.

"Miss, why did you care so much about that powerless? I think this meal is the most deserving that he worth for." - The owner also spilled her spit into my meal after saying those words

"Don't act like you are a Princess or a Queen, Miss! You may be a woman who has power, who is a high-ranking aristocrat but that does not mean I will obey every of your word."

Reimi threw powerfully her meal onto the floor and walked toward the inn's owner with her right hand holding tight her sword as if was about to draw it out of the scabbard.

"The woman who stands before you is Princess Shera Sonne of Warsaw Kingdom! How can a lowly woman like you dare to be rude to my ruler!" Reimi threatened the owner

"Proofs! Where are the proofs! Don't you people think you people came from Warsaw can do anything you want to me, your country is nothing but our vassal state!" - The inn owner kept quarreling without being scared

"Here." - Shera stood up and then pulled out from her collar a red round thing and headed toward the inn's owner, that thing looked to be made of metal

The object Shera was holding looked to be a red round Warsaw emblem, its middle has a yellow symbol of a yellow round ball. Around the round ball were four long yellow arrowheads which pointed out from four sides, North, East, South and West.

"That! That's the Royal Warsaw emblem!" - The inn's owner looked very sullen and panicked as if she was thinking she and her family would face something terrible

"Enough talk, my Highness! Please give me the order to execute this woman." - Reimi drew out her sword and waited for Shera's order

"Kill her, Reimi! Anyone who dares to rude to Sir Rigen will have to die." - Shera gave Reimi the order, this Princess did not have hesitation during ordering her servant to kill the woman

"Understood, my Highness!" - Reimi walked in front of the inn's owner raised her sword above and was about to kill the woman

The inn's owner kneeled on the ground with her body sullen and her eyes panicked, she grabbed Reimi's right leg as if to beg her for forgiveness.

"Right away!" - The woman rushed toward the kitchen though she was injured, that woman kept holding the wall while running to not let herself fall to the floor

After 15 minutes, my meal has been brought out and its taste was better than before, Shera and Reimi were now sitting next to me without moving to the other tables as if to protect me.

The meal was great, but I didn't have the mood to enjoy its taste because the earlier incident made me bored to eat so I ate only half of the meal, luckily that I didn't hungry anymore.

One hour after the dinner, I was in my room, Princess Shera and Reimi were now with me as if they wanted to check up on me to make sure that I would be safe when they go away.

I said to Shera and Reimi that I was about to sleep, that was just a lie because I noticed that the Warsaw soldiers were all gathering in Prince Hoster's room.

Those people, especially Hoster would want to talk about me because I was a very stranger to them and they could use Shera and Reimi to dig into my background. I must pretend like I was sleeping to order Advisor to eavesdrop on those people.

"I'm very sorry to let you be treated badly like that in the previous dinner, Sir Rigen." - Shera apologized to me again though she didn't do anything wrong, care about yourself more, Princess!

"I'm also s-" - Reimi also doing that but I stopped her

"That incident was not predictable, you two did nothing wrong. Princess, Reimi, you two should take more care of yourselves, don't care too much about a stranger like me."

"I know, but anyway... you are about to sleep right now, Sir Rigen?" - Shera asked me

"Yes!"

"I'm about to discuss with my brother, I don't know what the details of that discussion are about so I hope our conversation won't bother your sleep, Sir Rigen." - Shera said as if she apologizes to me, Princess!!! Sigh!

"That alright, I don't want to bother you any longer, get back to your brother's room to discuss with him, Princess! I will sleep well so don't worry about me."

Shera closed the door while bowing her head and went back to her brother's room, Reimi also bowed her head toward me and went alongside Shera.

"Don't know about it myself but if the environment clears, the space is clear and there are not many mixed sounds in the area I want to record then the sound transmission in the record will be fine."

"Okay, Shera said she didn't know about what her brother is about to say to her in that discussion."

"Hoster may talk about me, I want you to record their conversation fully to me."

"Roger that!"

Shera's perspective

After the meal, my brother said to me that he wanted to discuss with me something, I wonder what it was about. I was now going with Reimi to my brother's room, we walked slowly to my brother's room.

After a few minutes of walking, my brother's room was now in front of my eyes, there was a Warsaw guard standing guard outside. After seeing me and Reimi, the guard bowed and opened the door for us, I was wondering what my brother was about to say.

I went inside the room, there was my brother, the Warsaw guards and a middle-aged man with a brown-haired ponytail, that man has a full beard. That was my brother's right hand, General Algen Dunkel, that man was always bringing information for my brother.

"Alright, you guards stay outside and do the guard, I want to stay here to discuss with my sister, Reimi and Dunkel some problem. Do not get inside without my order." - My brother ordered the guards

"Understood, Your Highness." - The guards bowed their heads toward my brother and also toward me while going outside

"Take a seat, my dear sister! I want to talk something to you." - My brother said to me

I took a seat opposite my brother, Reimi was standing beside me, General Dunkel stood beside my brother.

"My dear little sister, the discussion I want to talk to you about tonight is about John Rigen, tell me everything you know about that man." - My brother asked me

"What do you want to know about Sir Rigen, my brother?"

"His ability, is there anything special?"

"Continue, Shera! I want to hear more." - My brother said to me

"At first, I didn't believe what he told me, I could not imagine how an army fights without forming their formations, didn't use spears, swords bows or mages to cast destruction magic."

But maybe...I should not be close to Sir Rigen, he may have family, he may have married someone in his homeland. I should not bother his family's happiness anymore...

Haah! Haah! Have I just breathed hard and lost my control by yelling when I was looking at Sir Rigen? Haah...I must calm down now or I would disturb his sleep.

Did that a low voice from Advisor? I didn't know, but if Sir Rigen's Advisor was also protecting him alongside Reimi then I was pleased now. I went out of the door slowly and closed it to let Sir Rigen sleep well.

I need to have a good sleep before thinking about protecting him. I would get to Sir Rigen right away by the time I wake up tomorrow.
