[Holsworthy training ground]

Vex, Cory, and Dolly arrived at the training ground, seeing it to be a big space arena with enough training equipment to be used by the individual who comes to train themselves depending on what jobs they do and the equipment they use for it.

Only two were amazed by the sight of male and female training with all their might. Vex went on while leaving Cory and Dolly for the moment in state to take the time to gather themselves while she was seeking out a single person among the many.

This important person could not be hard to miss because they are more reptilian than the beast. As such, one who stands at what could be the center of the training ground is a humanoid snake lady with golden scales painted with lines of purple, making it look to be some sort of tattoo going all the way to the tail part being the rest of the whole body.

Her body was wearing bikini-like armor where the chest area was covered; there was an arms bracket on each, and the leather skirt around that important part was covered as well.

In the right hand is a golden spear from head to toe. There were three little versions of golden snakes dancing around the head wrapping around themselves as their eyes held gems of deep purple.

“Well, look who has come stepping into my grounds, good old Vex.” The humanoid snake lady addresses without the need to look back.

“Hello to you too as well Tessa.”

“Vex it is good to be seeing you again sometime since the last time you were here. Any reason to be here? I mean, there is never an end to keeping your skills sharp, but for someone like you, Vex is a rare care requiring no routine as they don’t allow their blades to dull.”

“Thanks for that compliment there, Tessa, but you have a point. I am here with another reason which did give me the itch to sharpen the dagger blades deadlier than how they are now.”

Tessa turns around to face Vex with those purple color eyes along the deep wounded gash that goes down the right side of her long snake neck. A scar as this was given in a time in her past long moved on, but this is to be a part of old history never to go away or be forgotten.

“If I was to guess it, those two are the human male and the female pig that is staring like mindless fools with open mouths,” Tessa says, having a bit of fun with them.

“The human name is Cory, he seeks to train here, and the pig girl is Glenda's daughter, Dolly; she will most definitely not take part because she doesn't seem to be interested in taking action.”

“Humans want to train among the beast kins people and care to share any information on the person. Not every human wants to do that. Whenever one pays a visit to this town, how do the two of you meet?”

“Not much I can tell you, only just come upon Cory outside of the town being chased by a raven dragonfly pack. I saved his life while returning to town. It seems he was lost in how his travels led to him crossing into such a dangerous situation with those flying creatures that would tear him to pieces with my aid.”

Tessa has a good skill when those speaking with her are telling lies or the truth, and since Vex is a good friend, she is in the mix of the two. This is something that brings some interesting curiosity of wanting more information, but I will have to take the chance later for more.

“Vex, there's more than you are leading on to me; I’m not going to let it pass like whoever falls for such a tale. When there is a time for it, I want all the truth, my friend.” Tessa tells her, which doesn’t shock Vex, that she didn’t buy the half-lie.

“Fair, I know there wasn’t a chance I was going to slip past you, but I had to try and fail. I have to work more on being a better liar against someone like you. Anyway, what you want to know won’t be something to take in as belief, thinking it to be crazy talk coming out of my mouth.”

“Interesting. For now, I shall look into this human named Cory; I would like to hear his reasoning for wanting to train here.”

Tessa caught Cory's attention when pointing at him and holding a single finger, telling him to come over to her. He does, and Dolly tags along while they still look around, witnessing and hearing the sounds of these people putting their all into training.

Walking on by these people felt like army soldiers doing their normal daily training, even among the numbers. Cory's eyes do spot someone barely met at the front Gates of this town; the male wolf guard being taken over by the will of training hard.

Soon, these two come standing before Tessa, feeling a bit of pressure from the snake lady, giving off such a feeling of a commanding position. Both of them were not that brave in front of her to speak first and had little fear of not even looking her in the eyes.

“Cory, as I was told of your name, you want to use the training grounds to train, why is that?” Tessa starts their talk with a question.

“Um… well I’m considering taking up the role of adventure. A nice person told me to train here before doing any quest.”

“I see, so here is another question I have to ask of you humans.”

In the flesh, the spear in Tessa's hand tip was found right at the side of Cory's neck, drawing a small bit of blood. He was in a state of shock and fear for his life. Dolly was the same, not sure why she was doing this to him and couldn’t do anything, or it could get worse.

Only Vex reminded come saw no reason to take action seeing there was no reason for it.
