The female kobold told Cory as he heard the sounds of the raven dragonfly wings make their nose seeing the number of those things was at twenty-five compared to the last group.
Cory was so shocked to see such a number of those that he forgot the important thing of running for him when danger was coming.
Luckily there was someone else there to lead a hand that grabbed his left arm tightly while dragging the rest of the body with her to follow along.
“Oh, come on, are you just going to stand there like an idiot or run for your life before the raven dragon has a chance at eating away your flesh?” The female kobold says.
“Come on, I’m still not sure about everything that's going on here.”
The two ran as their purser followed behind getting close by the speed of how fast these creatures can go with four wings.
“I don’t think running away from these things is working well for us,” Cory says letting it be known about how fast those things were catching up.
“No kidding, I know running won’t make much of a difference, but I got something that could.”
The female kobold reaches inside her black cloak with her other hand and takes out a black ball with a short string rope attached to it. She lifts the thing and then throws it towards the big group of raven dragonflies.
An explosion came afterward pushing the two running a bit further given by the shock wave as they hit the ground face flat not too hard. Cory raises his head looking back to see the smoke from the blast and some pieces of the raven dragonfly scattered around the area.
“Did… that take care of them all,” Cory asked her.
“Not just kill off a few, but we should keep moving so the smoke won’t last long to keep them blind for long; they just make it go away and then regroup with whatever is left of them.”
The kobold female quickly got back up after saying all that to keep on going having Cory do the same. If he wants to stay alive it is best to be close to someone who knows what they're doing.

{later on}
The two were able to get away, finding and hiding inside a cave that didn’t go that deep, but had a big enough space of an entry for two people or more to fit inside. Both got away with having the creatures known as raven dragonflies lose track of them for the time being as they are still lurking around.
“Man, sure glad we were able to get away from them,” Cory says relaxing against the cave wall.
“Don’t get too comfortable now, we made it so thanks to this cave, I remember coming early to see if there was any interesting loot to be hidden inside. Turns out it was nothing, but a normal cave.”
“Yeah, guess we are waiting inside for a little while. By the way, my name is Cory Bright. What about you? What is your name being a kobold, you said?” Cory says.

“The name Vex, and you still got the healing potion, you better start drinking it or give it back if you're not.”
She told him her name, making sure to be at the entrance of the cave to keep a lookout for those raven dragonflies if they were still looking for them.
Cory took the moment to look at the healing potion given to him, opening it up to smell it where there was a honey-like scent to it. Something that does make him feel to not worry about it being poison or something else being a danger to him since it is from someone not too well known.
The next second Cory drinks it as he pours the red liquid down the throat till there is nothing left in the bottle. There does come the warm feeling of the pain going away no longer there, so that was good enough for him to start testing the healing potion more.
“Well, that wasn’t too bad, you drink this thing a lot,” Cory asked, placing the empty small bottle to the side.
“Only if I am hurt badly to need to drink a healing potion, anyway since we are waiting in the meantime how about you answer some questions for me.”
“Sure, I have no problem with that, but I don't know how well I can answer them then again we might be able to learn…” Cory stops talking when feeling something sharp press against his neck.
Vex had already moved from her spot to his quickly to put a dagger blade at his throat.
“What is a human like you doing all alone? It is something that I can’t help to find suspicious. Even more so to how you acted about not knowing a healing potion and what I am.” Vex says having a change of a serious attitude.
“I swear to you, I just woke up like that with no idea how it happened or why believe me. I’m just more clueless on this than you think Vex.”
“Is what you are saying to be true.”
“Yes, I have no reason to lie to you to benefit me for lying to you when you did nothing but save and help me.”
Vex stared at him with those red eyes of hers for the next second that felt like they had gone on for a long time. She then removes the dagger away from the throat, yet not too far keeping it a close-range distance to strike if there is something Vex doesn’t like, finds to be a lie, or if the human tries making a move against her.
“So you are not from this world, but from another is that what you are saying,” Vex asked, but there was doubt in her voice in believing.
“Yes, then again, I can be dreaming this all up meaning you might not even be real and I’m just talking about something made up.”
“Do you honestly think that to be a possibility still even with all that has happened?”
Cory goes over what happened so far in his head and can’t keep on believing any of what has gone on so far to be a dream. Vex notices that he comes to reality; this is all too real by the look on his face.
“No this is real, but why am I even here, no more important how can it be that I am here,” Cory says, getting all worried about the situation he somehow was thrown into.
“Earth? That is the world you are from.”
“Yeah, it's the world I was born in and raised in for eighteen years, what exactly is this world that I somehow ended up in.”
“Donnotov is the name of this world.”
Vex gets more relaxed taking steps back to sit cross-legged from Cory as she has placed the dagger on the ground next to her. Telling him that she is still on guard at the moment.
“If you're from this world called Earth, I take it your world isn’t the same as this one.” Vex says.
“Well, what I saw with my eyes so far made it feel like I was in one of those RPG games. Yet more real life than a virtual one.”
“What is that, an RPG Game? I have never heard of such a thing.”
“Oh, that is a virtual graphic video game where a player can create their characters and pick a class to use when fighting monsters….”
As Cory was talking about RPG games, he suddenly stopped when he saw that a very confused Vex was looking right at him as what had been said so far wasn’t getting taken into that head of hers.
“Guess it's not the best way to start talking about something from Earth. Maybe you want to ask another question.” Cory asked changing the subject to something easier for Vex to get.
“How about this monster in your world like the one we encounter?”
“No thankfully, we do have a raven and a dragonfly, but not two together to make something like that.”
Vex's face changed to one of her thoughts right now seeing that a bit of small information was somewhat useful.
“Mind, I ask some questions of my own that might help me to better understand your world,” Cory says, seeing it better to take the chance to learn a few things.
“Go ahead, but just a warning, I’m not much of one who has great knowledge in history compared to those back in town having much more knowledge on the subject.”
“Town? There is a town around here that we can reach.”
“Yeah, it's the town called Holsworthy, it's the place I live and work at from the guild there.”
Cory's face went blinked then surprised by a single word that was said from Vex's mouth.
“Hold on, did you say, guild, are you telling me you're an adventurer that I’m talking to.”
