Estela and Cory didn’t like the sound of that to hear Glenda's voice getting loud from the inside of her place. At the same time come to think it to not be a good thing.
“Not good to hear that woman yelling something is going on in there that could mean nothing well. Let's hurry inside to see what could make a nice person like that angry.” Estela says as her tone has little worry in it.
“Yeah.”
Going inside the two of them are quickly restrained from surprising two unknown figures soon to be large beast kin bears humanoid wearing Breastplate armor which consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather.
The legs and arms are left without this same protection, but there is no need to worry about that as long as the Vital organs are safe.
Estela does like anyone would when being grabbed by some stranger to try breaking free from their hold. But it wasn’t working. The bear humanoid wasn’t a weakling using a bit of its strength to make sure she was kept in place.
Cory on the other had to do nothing knowing there was no way he was going to get away against a beast kind person like this. A smart move is to just play the long game and wait for the right moment that can help them both out.
During the time, he does spot two more bear humanoids wearing the same Breastplate armor, but the third one in the middle is wearing more silk fabric that is made of Golden and red style robe.
The right ear was pierced with two slightly gold earrings, and the left arm had about three costly rings on about three fingers.
Glenda was standing in front of him looking not too happy to see this person while the woman's daughter Dolly was kept close, but behind to keep away from these people.
That same bear looks away from the pig woman to now have eyes on Estela a fox and Cory a human. Taking the time to smoke in the cigar smoke, blowing it out the next moment, and waving the other hand for those two bears holding them to come a step or two forward to him to get a better look at these newcomers.
“Well, well look who came into The Good Empress Ale House, I welcome the two of you, but right now business is being conducted at the time, so you will have to be good and not make any trouble for my boys you got it.” The humanoid Bear wearing the silk fabric clothing tells Estela.
“Who the fuck are you supposed to be and what your business you got here in Glenda Tavern.”
“Such a rude way to ask a person who they are, I let that pass one time, but keep talking like that and your pretty mouth will no longer be that way anymore.”
“Come on and try it, big guy, I would love nothing more than to put my new Gun right up that face of yours and blow it off as I don’t like looking at it.”
That Bear hears the threat from her and just laughs it off like it wasn’t something he had to worry about or take seriously at the time.
“Oh, you're a fighter, I love to break such a spirit of one, but as I have said before business is going on, I give you my name as a little kindness from me. Preston Mcmillan remembers it well.” Preston then takes another inhale with the cigar and blows more smoke further out.
“Preston, that is a name I have heard a few times and yet can’t seem to remember. I guess it wasn’t a name to keep as a memory in my brain, sorry.”
“Let them go, they do need to have your goons hold them like that as if they are a threat to you.”
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Preston now turns back to face Glenda after her saying something draws his attention.
“That is not going to happen, I like us to keep on talking business with you and have no one else get in the way or bring in those guards which can bring trouble and a headache to me.”
“I told you; I’m not going to work for you, I know the type of work you do, and I want no part. This Tavern is a clean place for those to come to drink good ale and eat great food with others of good company, not for whatever you want to make this place to be bringing in drugs, prostitution, and gambling. Me and my late husband didn’t build this tavern to have someone like you one day try to take and make it their vision.”
“Glenda dearly comes on; I am offering you and this well-earning place to expand into something greater. Plus, you could be earning a lot more money here if you think like one who loves to make money.”
During these two have their discussion Estela does have her moment in remembering who this Preston truly is given on how the person acts and the other bears that around.
“Ah shit, now I remember who this guy is now and should have known sooner.” Estela's much more worried voice caught Cory's attention.
“Estela what up got a clue to what the bear person is.”
“Yeah, Preston is a gang boss who rules a part of the Holsworthy section of town that isn't too safe to walk through. He mostly lives in such an area doing all kinds of shady work, but I heard there has been some movement of him working to spread into more parts of Holsworthy.”
“So, the reason someone like him is here is just seeking to get Glenda's tavern into his hands.”
“Yeah, and it's not a good thing, rumors which are mostly true are that Preston did this to another place of business. The owner of that place refused him two times when he offered to make a deal in partnership, and next time it again by Preston, he succeeded in getting the place by a means when one doesn’t mind or have the heart to take action that can help in changing the person mind and thus took over the whole place instead.”
The Bear holding Estela squeezed her arms tightly with a little pain as a way to make her stop talking, getting annoyed by all this talking and just wanting there to be silence while his boss was talking with the owner of this tavern.
“Hey! Don’t treat me like that, a lady needs to be treated with much kinder hands than that big guy,” Estela says, acting cute at the moment.
“Shut your mouth, I don’t….” That bear soon feels sharp as his foot has been stepped on hard by Estela.
As he cries from the pain giving some free space to break out an arm and elbow right backwards into the side of the face where completely free she becomes.
The other bear goon notices his friend being assaulted by the fox female and comes to make the decision that he goes to help him out after she has done that and to stop whatever she has planned on doing when charging where the boss is.
There was no thought the human was going to take a chance as the fox did, so that bear goon let Cory go and because of that action, it became the mistake. As Cory wanted to be some help to Estela thinking of doing the same thing she had done to the other bear humanoid.
Having the Buckler Shield attached to the right arm where that same arm is used to back smack the bear's face, but at the moment Cory comes to realize later that the Buckler Shield does something far worse than what was intended.
Swinging too fast to even make at the right angle to even be like that of the backhand smack had the edge of this Buckler Shield slash across the poor creature's left eye. Blood gushed out when the eyeball ended up getting wide open to release such an amount of the red liquid that got on the side of that face.
That bear goon cries in the most chilling scream as anyone would act in the same way when their eye comes to be destroyed.
“Ah, shit… I don’t think an apology is going to make up for that.” Cory says taking steps backwards to not be close to this bear.
Now he has to be ready for a fight against two bears as one is going to be not happy with him.
Estela having reached the boss already took out the Arugebus aiming the Gun right up close to his face. His two other bear goons were there but made no move to risk their boss' life.
“Are you sure you want to pull that trigger and blow up my head because that cannot go so well for someone like you,” Preston says to her, being all calm like there is no reason to worry about the Gun right there near the face.
“What the hell are you talking about? As far as it looks, I have a right to shoot you here and now.”
“Please, I have done nothing wrong come here to talk with the owner Glenda, you and the humans have been the ones to attack us. I mean you hit one of the guys and the human just took another eye, I say this is much in my favor if this was to be taken to the guard captain think about it.”
“Estela don’t do it please it is not worth having his blood on your hands or going to jail for it. There is another way we can settle the matter without the need of things to go further into something bad.”
Hearing Glenda's words Estela starts to lower her new Gun a bit away from his face when Preston makes a move by taking in some smoke from the cigar and blowing it right into the fox's face taking her off guard.
Next, the bear sends a fist right into the gut knocking the wind out of Estela and then again to the face making her fall backwards by the force of its impact.
“Estela!” Cory cries out her name when witnessing this attack and goes over to aid the fox.
Preston notices this human coming this way along with his boys following behind in seeking to stop him.
“Interesting that the human is going to attack me now, I wonder what he can do.” Preston thought.
Cory knows the chances are against him, but he had to try at something, and it was going to make that boss pay for what he did to Estela being, but at close range to each other. Preston beat him in speed when using those claws to slash slightly across Cory's left side.
Where the fresh claw marks are right under the left arm still at the stomach area as blood comes out dipping to the floor and staining that new shirt.
“Sorry son, but there wasn’t any way, I would allow myself to be touched by a fleshly human like yourself.”
