Cory's reaction about Vex being an adventure took her by surprise and it is clear he knows the topic showing such enthusiasm.
“Do you somehow know what an adventure is?” Vex asked, wanting to know what Cory knew.
“Yeah, I do in a way that brings me back to the RPG games along with fantasy manga and Novels, I have read on earth that they have adventures. I take it you have something similar as in quests and ranking.”
“Yeah, we do have those two things the guild has. Are you sure you are from another world?”
“Yeah, I am not lying about that, it is cool that I’m talking with someone who has an adventure. It must be a cool and fun role to be in.”
Vex responded that was just a simple shrug of her shoulders seeing that she saw it not to be much of a big deal.
“It has its ups and downs depending on the quest you take on and the pay you make from it,” Vex says, being honest about her so far in the adventuring career.
“What about dungeons? Those are real as well in this world called donnotov.”
“There are dungeons here in this world, I have been inside one or two, but they are not a place to take lightly. Whatever inside a dungeon is quite dangerous to one not ready to take on alone or with a group of those with skills.”
“All right that's something, I keep in mind if I ever somehow end up in a dungeon.”
Vex took the moment to look at the cave entrance, getting the idea the two of them should get moving when it seemed the timing was right to do so.
“Should be safe now to move, don't think the raven dragonfly is hanging around. But just a heads-up if you happen to be anyway slow on your footing. I’m going to leave you behind as I’m not going to put my life at serious risk for some human.” Vex means that.
“Oh right, it should be good now to get moving before those things find us and I won’t slow you down since I want to stay alive and not die in this world.”
Vex and Cory get up from the ground inside the cave carefully making their way to the entrances, stopping there for a few seconds before leaving the cave and heading for the town as their next target destination.

{hours later}
The two made it to a road that Vex knew leading to the town of Holsworthy where those travelers of groups or those riding carts made their way over to the town seeking to do business inside.
Cory did wonder how long it was going to take, but over those passing hours, he came to see the features of what a town is to look like. Amazed and happy the two speed up their walking to soon reach the iron bar gate.
Yet before getting inside both must be checked out by the two guards standing side by side at the gate. Cory notices these guards are not humans, instead looking like humanoid versions of wolves as there is one female and one male at the post.
The armor the two are wearing is fully metal covering their whole body leaving the only part of their heads naked.
“It's good to see you, Vex done with another quest today.” The male wolf says he is friendly toward Vex seeing she comes in and out of the town often.
“Yeah, there wasn't too much trouble in getting done since it was just hurting down another dangerous monster threatening the lives of others.”
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
“I see no doubt with you on such a quest that the monster had any chance of taking you down, anyway what up with the human.”
“I found him along the way back having trouble with some pack of raven dragonflies that would have left him to his fate, but I thought to lead a hand anyway in the end to save this poor fool.”
The two wolf guards look at Cory first then begin to move in on him where one gets a closer look and the other starts to sniff him. He does become concerned about going over to Vex to see her having a calm expression which tells him there is no need to be worrying about anything.
“Hmm, there is nothing I’m picking on him to be any danger to the town, only that of the small faint of blood and the lingering smell of smoke.” The female wolf guard says.
“Yeah, that was on me, I had a bomb in hand to use against a bigger group of those creatures coming for us after I killed off the last ones. Had to use it since those things can fly fast.”
“Looking at him makes me not see this human to be much of a threat either, more like a weakling to not pay mind to.”
“Looks could be deceiving then again; I can share your thoughts. Vex what about you? Are you going to vouch for him to be allowed to enter Holsworthy?”
The female wolf guard asked Vex, seeking her opinion as being the one in finding the human.
“The human isn’t a threat or need of concern, I could have been killed in the cave we were hiding in if he was,” Vex says the truth.
“All right if you say so, Vex, but to make it clear you are to be held responsible for the human if he does anything that causes danger to the locals in the town.”
“Yeah, I got the idea, but I’m not going to be long since I plan to have someone else take him off my hands as I don't need to watch over a human like a pet.”
“Hey! What do you mean by that?”
Cory didn’t like that, but the two wolf guards saw no problem in laughing when Vex said that.
“I pray for the poor, OPEN THE GATE! And you human just a warning to you like any other ones that come to our town. Try anything and I will personally see to it that you are suffering for the action hear me.” The male wolf guard says to Cory getting up and close to his face.
“Yeah, you got it by keeping to myself when inside and not making any trouble, I promise.”
At the moment there is the sound of a large gate being pulled up at a steady speed to allow two people to go through as Cory and Vex do without a waste of time.
Once inside Holsworthy, Cory is blown away by the beauty of the town buildings and the shock of seeing so many humanoid creatures walking and going about their business of what is left of the day.
It was weird to see such animals being this way, yet small few humans were walking the streets or doing business on those streets with their stands selling whatever items they had.
“Come we got to go meet an old Goat, so I have him help you out with your situation as I intend to not hang around to help,” Vex says moving a few steps ahead.
“Wait a minute, what you said back at the gate were you serious.”
“Yeah, I mean you thought you and I were going to tag along together long-term or something. Cause that is not happening as I’m more of a loner than a part of a group. That's why I’m going to take you to the old Goat as he is someone that everyone can come to for knowledge and answers.”
“Oh, guess that's great to know lead the way Vex.”
Cory was a little sad that the two wouldn’t be hanging out longer, but it was fine since he had to stay focused on the mission of getting back home.
They walked the streets for a time getting looks here and there from the locals, but those stares were mostly at Cory being a new human in town. He paid no mind to them as a few didn’t look too friendly to him and did not need to make trouble so soon when just getting inside.
It wasn’t long before both came to stand before a big building to stand in front of as the people walked by.
“Whoa this place is big, what's inside,” Cory asked Vex.
“It is a library where the old goat runs and manages, anyway let's go inside quickly as I want to make sure we made it in time before he takes a nap.”
Both go inside the building pushing the big double doors, soon witnessing the inside of what a library is to look like, having a roll of bookshelves for one to walk by and seeing any books on one to catch the person's eye.
There were a few tables here and there for any visitors to use to read or study. Even more, bookshelves are up on the second floor of this library and the large clear glass windows look from the inside out.
Vex and Cory Walk a little further in, but in the next second, she stops moving, turning to him to talk.
“You can wait around here, look at the books or whatever while I go get him,” Vex tells Cory.
“Are you sure?”
“It seems that no one is here using the library, so there is no need for me to worry about leaving you alone when there is someone.”
Vex leaves him alone for the moment where Cory thinks to pass the time checking out the books and seeing if there was anyone to catch his eye.
After just a minute of exploring the library, he notices there is a sound of someone having some difficulty behind a bookshelf he happens to be checking.
Moving around to see who it could be having trouble with, what he sees is a humanoid female goat looking to be having a hard time reaching for a book. She had every feature of a goat, the horns, ears, and the white fur.
The only thing that stood out was the bright yellow plain dress she was wearing covering the upper and lower parts. Since this dress happened to be sleeveless as arms were naked.
Cory was going to speak out offering help to the female goat, but his mind popped a random idea that was a bit pervy.
“Well just taking a little peek under shouldn’t be a problem doing right.”
He slowly moves over to get a view from under when she is using the ladder to gain much more height. Safe from being spotted, Cory brings his head to look under, getting a full view of pink panties with the fluffy tail sticking out.
While peeking at this female goat, she started losing balance to where her whole body was falling off the ladder.
“Hold on, I got you.”
