I went back to Ebony’s castle with her to find Blue, the boy with whom I came to find out was named Colby, Aries, Gemini, and all of Ebony’s squad and a friend of Colby’s named Remington there as well. Most of us got ready for the Gala, others were more … stubborn. “I’m not going to the damn Gala so get over it... “Gemini said angrily. “We’re all going… No exceptions…” Ebony commanded and Gemini glared at her but eventually gave in. After we had all gotten ready, Ebony opened a portal to the Spring Palace.
When we arrived, my mouth fell wide open. I had only been to one other Gala in my lifetime, but that memory was all a fog. It was so beautiful and so bright. People of all species were everywhere, Archangels, Demons, Wolves, Elves, Nymphs, Druids, Humans, and even Vampires. Then a Druid called Ebony’s name, she looked over and chuckled. “Did your father really make you wear that Cathbad?” Cathbad, the druid transfer student Ebony had to protect all the time in school? It seemed unreal that this place could be one of the only places of peace, and that no one fought or argued. Then out of nowhere, a man, a wolf, burst through the door. He wore a white cloak, with a large hood. His sky blue eyes were fierce and dominant, his pale skin looked almost white from the Gala lights. “Ah, Sir Wolf, Welcome to my Spring Gala.” I heard Lucifer say behind me, making me jump slightly. Ebony puts her hand on my shoulder and says, “I told him about what happened, he took the bounty off of your head though it’s going to take awhile to take all the WANTED posters down.” she said, and I nodded slowly in reply. Wolf kept his eyes locked on me, his eyes narrowed and his pupils slit. Then he walked over in our direction, but before he reached us, a boy came out behind him, looking about eleven years old. “Remy….?” He said, and Remington swiftly turned around. Ebony kneels to the ground, her wings spread slightly outwards, and then she shows her horns. The pup's eyes light up. Wolf then pulled the pup behind him protectively, glaring at Ebony. “Wolf it is alright…” Remington said, and Wolf barely relaxed. He walked forward saying nothing, his eyes locked on me. “Sir Argus Astaroth, how nice for me to finally meet you…” He snarled. Ebony’s wings flared outwards blocking Wolf from getting to me. “Miss Ebony Morningstar, I mean no harm to him My Dear…” Wolf said sincerely. As soon as he says My Dear, Ebony’s mood changes for the worse. She starts growling. Her whole body is shaking, and I see tears running down her face. I realize she misses my father, well, the old him. Wolf’s face turns slightly alarmed, his eyes go wide and his ears go down. “DON’T YOU DARE CALL ME THAT!” She yells and Wolf flinches. Only a few people look in our direction but then go back to their own business after a few agonizing moments. Mindlessly I put my hand on Ebony’s side and whispered in her ear, “He didn’t mean it, it is alright…” I said gently. I let go of her quickly, trying to avoid any attention to my mistake. Wolf’s face remained in shock, his expression was dark and his eyes were a bit sunken now. A few hours after Ebony disappeared the Gala went dark.
