"Did everyone have a good nights sleep? It is important to be well rested when sleeping outdoors so make sure you get enough sleep all of you munchkins."

"Now we have our daily route planed our so lets get started. Then we will go for a hike through the woods to a spot with an amazing view."

"We will even go cliff diving, though I have to admit that these old bones probably wont be able to take the impacts that I did when I was a young man. This area was the stomping ground that I ran on when I was just a wee lad. I know that I have hinted that but never said it before."

"I ran every inch of these woods back when the wild was wild and we still remembered what it ment to be wild. To live free and die like legends. To face our foes with smiles on our faces. Those were the days. I like the world the way it is mind you but still it just feels smaller now."

"This is what it was like when it was still big."

The school was taking us on a trip to Washington D.C. We were going to see the White House and all the great monmuments to the nation. The Lincon Memorial and every thing else. It was of course going to be a long multy day bus ride. We were not going to get there anytime soon so we figured why not see all the sights on the way.

On the first day we stoped and ate gumbo for the first time. On the second we did the same. In all with the stops we took almost a week extra but nobody was complaining that is for sure. We all had the air of adventure about us as many of us had never left the state we were born into.

It was almost 2 weeks after we left that we came to the destination we were searching for. Waiting for us was Harry S. Truman himself. The President of the United States of America was expecting our class. He had heard from the school that we were taking the route we were and decided to ask us what we thought of our trip.

We a bunch of kids at the time talked to the President about the things that we had seen and couldn't help but feel smug about it. He asked us of what we wanted to do now and after much discussion while looking over our shoulders to check if he was eavesdrop we came to the decision.

We proudly stood up and stated to him that we wanted to do the same thing going back and take a different route. I can admit that he laughed at that and made sure it happened for us.
