An old mans tale!
Another Day.

Another Day.

"Today is my birthday. I am 84 today. In my life I lived 84 years, how can I complain about that."

"It was always an old tradition of me and my friends from back in the day to do something on our birthdays. We would go out and have fun. We would have an adventure or just a quiet night at the movies, you know something to enjoy to celebrate that passing of time."

"Today is my birthday and I am the only one left that still remembers what It was like in the old days. I alone made it through the test of time. I alone remain through the test of time!"

"If you would lets do something for the comunity today. Something that helps people. A food drive or some such. I kind of want to do something for others and make people smile. I like it when they smile you know. It is one of the resions that I tell my stories to others. Because it fills their eyes with wonder and makes them smile."

"How about a tale of a big ol' grinn?"

It went something like this!

We knew when he would be out and away from the his property. We knew that he would be gone for 2 hours and that he would return drunk. We just had to get in and get the dog. I mentioned that he beat the dog repeatedly right? That dog was mean as a snake so we had to get him to like us. It would be no easy feat to do it but if we could we would be legends in our 13 year old minds.

We would all walk past when the owner was gone and toss the dog treats. It was the only kindness that he was shown for the entire day so he quickly became enamoried with it. When he started barking happly at our approch we knew that the time was right. We staged an incident were we knew he would get drunk to give ourselves more time and slipped in to the back yard.

There was the dog on a log chain so we used our bolt cutters to free him and got ready to walk away like cool cats. we put our own collar on him with a new name and walked the good boy out like he was our dog all along. Well the owner was coming back and we had slipped out so we walked right by him. Now I am proud to say that he did not even look down at his dog. We could not help but laugh at that and ran striaght to the park to play with our new dog.

Our parents were pissed when we brought him home and even more so when the rotten old man came by asking if anyone had seen his dog. They were pissed but told him that no they had not.

He never did get his dog back!
