CHAPTER 138

290 AC

POV THIRD PERSON

"What do you mean you are sensing the summer is going to be long?"

"I can't tell how long it will be, but I am sure it will be several years. The fire element in the air is really strong, and every passing day even if it is by an iota, it is getting stronger."

He lit a fire in his hand and said,

"Every time I get stronger, my connection to the elements also strengthens. Now I can predict the weather accurately for a day, and as for the seasons, I can tell from the fire element in the air. For winter to come, the fire element needs to get weaker. When the fire element starts getting weaker, that will mark the changing of seasons. Even I don't fully understand how I can tell the fire element will keep getting stronger. It is just a feeling inside me, but it feels like it will last several years."

Aermir clenched his fist, and the fire inside his fist was extinguished. Lord Stark said,

"I don't think they will accept releasing their thralls, and they would be basically leaving themselves to my mercy."

"If it was someone else, they wouldn't accept it, but if the one taking an oath is Ned Stark, they will believe it. Everyone knows you would rather die than break an oath."

Aermir mumbled in a whispering voice,

"You are basically a boy scout."

But Lord Stark managed to hear what he said,

"What is a boy scout? Sometimes you say really weird things."

POV MC

After changing into the Druid persona, I come back to the camp to heal the wounded. Every time I see this, it still affects me. Seeing a grown man cry for his mother while trying to hold his guts inside with his hands is a harrowing sight. I try to heal them, but when such a big open wound is inflicted, even if I heal them and boost their body's immune system, most of the time, it is not enough to fight off infection.

I try to use herbal medicine. Sometimes it helps, but it is usually too weak. I need to find a way to make better medicine, but that is for more peaceful times. After saving as many as possible, I was getting ready to leave, but a soldier kneeled before me and said,

"Ohh, blessed one. Please help us in this war. With your help, we will lose fewer men to this war."

"I am sorry, but I cannot actively fight in this war. I am doing as much as possible."

"Why, why are you not helping us!"

I raised the staff in my hand and slammed it to the ground, and a small shake happened around us.

"Soldier! Do not forget who you are talking to?"

After I said that, he lost all color on his face, and he kneeled to the ground right away and then started to ask for forgiveness. With a loud voice, I said,

"I cannot actively fight in a fight that is fought for the sake of The Seven. The King is protecter of the faith and that faith is not our faith. If I fight as you do, it will serve The Seven, not the Old Gods. The only reason I am here..."

I paused for a dramatic effect and started pointing to the soldiers,

"Because you all are here. I will continue to mend your wounds and open the gates, but if they do not challenge the old gods, I cannot fight with them."

I was talking bullshit, but what can I do? I need Aermir Drasil to be famous in this battle; the Druid is famous enough.

...

After we took all the Volmark male descendants as "guests" we continued on our way. Of course, we treated them formally and respectfully but without letting them out of their tent. After Volmark, I told Lord Stark the Harlaws were taking out several hundred soldiers to the outside of their castle, and it looked like an ambush force. Lord Stark decided to create a buffer force and left them behind in case Harlaws and other houses decided to hit us from behind. Close to two thousand of our men were used for this buffer force. The rest of the army started marching for House Kenning.

...

After destroying the castle gate as the Druid, I charged toward the castle's destroyed gate on top of Sith as Aermir, but before I reached the gate, I saw a white flag being waved on top of the walls. It was somewhat normal for House Kenning not to want to fight for the Harlaws anymore, considering they used to be Harlaws' foes.

They had already lost more than half of their men, and when the attack on the North failed, they also lost their Lord Kenning. He was in one of the ships Poe sank. We had conquered two of the five castles on this island without even losing 100 soldiers, and thanks to my scouting, our buffer force had ambushed the 900 men ambush force of Harlaws and routed them.

Lord Stark was really happy about our wins, and our losses were minimal. After that, House Myre was a quick win, too but not because they were weak but because they were stupid. The idiot zealots had marched out of their castle and met us in an open battle, and thanks to Sith, I had mowed them like a lawn.

My Halberd had been soaked with so much blood its color changed a bit in this battle. I had to spend a few hours cleaning all that blood and flesh that stuck onto it. They took 500 of our men with them. If, after every battle, I didn't come and heal our men, we would have lost at least four times more men. Especially in the battles against Myre, they wouldn't rout. They almost fought to the last man.

After the field battle, when we were taking the castle, they still had around 500 men. One of the crazy Myre jumped from the castle wall to the top of Sith with his axe and managed to break 3 of Sith's ribs. Of course, the force of the crash had turned his body into a bloody mess, and he died after a few minutes, but he managed to take Sith out of the battle. I couldn't heal her immediately, so I had to retreat for an hour and act like I was treating her.
