Chapter 195: Ruin

"Master, she's following behind us," Hadina said calmly, noticing Kiana swimming behind them as she tried to keep up.

"Leave her be," Aurianna replied calmly as they pressed forward.

Hadina finally reached a point in the Leviathan where a stretchy barrier stopped their progress.

"Queen!" Aurianna yelled and Queen wielded her sword, transforming it into a drill-like form, piercing through the barrier. Hadina also attacked, her tentacles morphing into a drill-like shape. Lastly, Aurianna snapped her fingers, conjuring massive torrents to attack the shield for several minutes.

Kiana finally caught up, witnessing Aurianna's furrowed brow and signs of sickness and she watched them all attack the shield.

"I must help too!" Kiana told herself, swimming closer.

Clasping her hands, Kiana gazed at the wide, dark tunnel-like area pulsating before her, its churning teeth opening and closing.

"Haaaaaaaahhhh," Kiana began to sing, causing the monster to gradually feel sleepy and weak, its internal movements slowing.

As Kiana sang, the monster's defenses weakened, which was noticed by Aurianna.

‘A debuff skill?’ Aurianna wondered, glancing at Kiana.

"Human, take my hand!" Kiana demanded, reaching out to Aurianna, who was skeptical. Hadina also didn't like how close Kiana was getting.

"I have a name, you know," Aurianna said.

"Well, you never told me!" Kiana huffed.

"It's Aurianna," she said. "Why do you want my hand?"

"Because I want to follow you out of here!" Kiana declared with determination.

"Oh, had a change of heart?" Aurianna asked, chuckling lightly.

"No and yes!" Kiana answered boldly.

"Humph, I hope you can explain yourself later," Aurianna said, grinning, then grabbed Kiana's hand firmly, while one of Hadina's tentacles wrapped around Kiana's waist.

"Master, we're almost there!" Queen announced as the defense shield began to tear apart.

"Haahhh!" Aurianna yelled, combining all her torrents into one massive surge aimed at the shield.

"Queen, please give me every ounce of mana you've got!" Aurianna ordered, and Queen complied, though much of her mana was absorbed into Aurianna's body.

"I summon you, King!" Aurianna yelled as she tore off another arm, replacing it with a crystal one. She threw the arm before her, and King emerged after devouring it. Observing what they were all doing, King stepped before the torrent and touched it, causing its blast of light to grow brighter and more powerful. The shield immediately tore under the extreme pressure.

‘It's broken! We're really getting out of here!’ Kiana thought, watching Aurianna smile as they zoomed through the monster's teeth area with the assistance of Queen, King, and Hadina. She then glanced behind to see the protective shield being rapidly repaired.

After a few minutes, they finally swam out of the Leviathan's mouth and into the open sea. "We're out!" Aurianna cheered joyfully, raising her crystal hands.

Kiana looked down to see the spiraling monster's teeth below them, and it roared loudly, sensing something was amiss.

"It's mad, very mad," Kiana said nervously, and everyone watched as it moved towards them. They swam upwards and floated in the sky.

"Let it be mad!" Aurianna spat, shocking Kiana.

"King Nebula!" Aurianna commanded, and King's sword glowed brightly as his body increased in size. He clashed with the Leviathan, causing a massive explosion that affected the surrounding area, except for Aurianna, Queen, Hadina, and Kiana.

"Such light!" Kiana gasped, seeing the blast illuminate the entire sea like stars.

However, the Leviathan remained unfazed by the attack. It roared furiously, and then noticed the direction of the attack and jumped towards them, aiming to devour them and bite King before diving back into the sea pulling him with it, its massive body moving swiftly along.

"You can't hurt it; it's as strong as a Primordial Human!" Kiana finally snapped back to reality, yelling.

"Who cares? I have to give this thing some payback!" Aurianna said with a crazed smile.

The Leviathan thrashed around as King attacked underwater and Queen dove in to assist him.

Seeing the Leviathan's body approaching, Hadina swiftly dodged the attack and moved further away. Despite its size, the Leviathan was remarkably fast, catching Aurianna off guard.

"Hadina, can you injure this thing?" Aurianna asked.

"With my powers restricted, I can only injure certain areas," Hadina answered.

"That's fine by me. I want its teeth as a trophy. Get as many as you can!" Aurianna grinned, giving the command to all of them.

"Queen and King are already fighting, so help them attack it. You should stall it for as long as possible until I can escape!" Aurianna ordered.

"What if I die?" Hadina asked blankly.

"Did you forget you became my familiar? As long as I'm alive, you won't die," Aurianna replied with a smile.

"Hehehe, then you two better escape," Hadina chuckled to herself, unwrapping her tentacles from the two girls.

Aurianna and Kiana jumped off Hadina's back and plunged into the roaring seas, beginning their escape.

Due to the waves created by the Leviathan, swimming was extremely difficult. But recalling the skills Aquarius taught her, Aurianna managed to swim with the currents, with Kiana following behind.

‘She can swim faster than me. This human, or whatever she is, is indeed strange. I've never known anyone crazy enough to challenge Urgant the Leviathan or the dark seas, apart from my brother…’ Hadina thought, momentarily lost in reflection before snapping back to reality. "Kiana, focus! I'm still not out of danger, so I must follow this human girl to survive!"

"Aurianna, watch out!" Kiana yelled in a panicked tone as the Leviathan's body moved towards them, crashing into Aurianna and breaking several of her bones, causing her to cough up a massive amount of blood. The Leviathan's outer body was so huge that Aurianna and Kiana were barely the size of ants in comparison.

"Shit!" Aurianna cursed, failing to sense the approaching body. Unlike Kiana, who was extremely sensitive to the sea, Aurianna lacked that awareness.

Kiana quickly swam to avoid another body attack as the monster thrashed around. Aurianna tried to swim away as her wounds healed, but she suddenly saw the body looming above her and attempted to evade, only to be knocked unconscious by the impact.

Kiana soon noticed Aurianna floating in the sea and gasped. She glanced above the sea, seeing flashes of light and explosions, before turning back to Aurianna.

"Should I help her? I mean, I have managed to escape," Kiana pondered to herself, staring at Aurianna.

However, she felt a tug at her heart. "Dammit, human, you owe me!" Kiana gritted her teeth and swam towards Aurianna, holding her closely before swimming away.

The monster roared once more, the sound waves causing Kiana intense pain as though Urgant was extremely angry.

Suddenly, a bright blue light shone above the sea, illuminating the entire area more intensely than King's attack had. Kiana trembled as she stared at it.

"A blast breath! That thing, it's enough to kill us!" Kiana shrieked, swimming faster with Aurianna in her arms, trying to distance themselves from the incoming attack. She glanced up, her expression morphing into one of pure horror as the light descended towards them.

Giving a wry smile, Kiana curled into a ball, holding Aurianna close. "I guess this is where we die. It was fine trying this with you, human," she said, a mix of sadness and satisfaction in her expression.

"You pass!" Kiana suddenly heard, as the entire sea seemed to freeze, as if time itself had paused. The monster's movements halted, as did Aurianna's summons.

"Hey, do you wanna live?" Kiana heard a voice and looked up to see two twin teenage angels before her. One had a dark golden cross in her eyes, while the other had a dark blue cross.

"Angels?" Kiana noticed the six wings on each of them their backs, matching the color of their eyes.

"Yes, you passed the first trial to unlock the entryway to the Ruin! We can save your life if you choose to be a participant of the Ruin!" they said in synchronized tones.

"What Ruin?" Kiana asked suspiciously.

"The Ruin of 100 trials! Any being that emerges from it would be the elite of the elite! Hehehehehe!" They giggled together.

"What if I refuse?" Kiana inquired.

"Then you can die here!" they replied sharply, causing Kiana to shrink back. "But why is this monster here? If you can kill it, people wouldn't have to suffer anymore! You're an Angel of the god Phils, right? Our god!" Kiana pleaded, staring desperately at the angel with dark blue wings.

"So what? Ever since that new goddess came around, he's been ignoring all of us and his duties!" the angel of the sea spat with annoyance. "That goddess... I want to rip her to shreds," she gritted her teeth, biting on her nails.

"What goddess?" Kiana asked, confused by the angel's words.

"That's nothing for a mortal to know! So, do you want to live?" the angel of time intervened, attempting to shift the topic.

"What is the name of the Ruin?" Kiana asked curiously.

"The Bahamut Ruin, the Ruin of 100 trials!" they both answered together.

‘All those who went to that Ruin never came back alive,’ Kiana thought, recalling the stories her brother used to tell her about those ruins some years ago.

"Then why do you want to go, brother?" Kiana asked as she sat on a couch beside him.

"Well, after I defeat that big Leviathan, no one will have to be sacrificed again, and this big brother of yours wants to test how far he can go, you know? I heard there are great rewards in the Bahamut Ruin! I'll bring you a lot of presents once I succeed!" He said with a cheeky grin, but his face appeared blurry in Kiana's memory.

‘He never came back. Stupid big brother,’ Kiana thought, biting her lip.

"Fine, we'll enter your Ruin!" Kiana declared.

"Great! You both are participant number 1,469!" they announced joyfully.

"Most people who came here mostly came in groups of thirty, but I guess we can deal with two for now," they added.

"Good luck and try not to die!" they said, raising their hand to give a thumbs up and a wink.

Kiana watched as a huge mouth appeared beneath them, feeling nervous. She looked back at the Angels, then at the Leviathan before swimming into the mouth before it shifted shut.

"Do you think two young girls would be able to kill those people?" the angel of time wondered.

"I doubt it; but the girl with the strange summons. Those summons aren't in the spirit realm. So there might be a chance. And also our barrier magic is weakening. We need to find someone stronger to stop them," the angel of the sea stated.

"The god of time said something bad would happen in the future. He sent a message to all of us," the angel of time said with a frown. "So all these ruins must be cleared immediately. If we weren't so restricted by world rules, I would have killed them myself."

"What would happen?" the angel of the sea asked curiously, noticing her sister's uncomfortable expression.

"He doesn't know exactly; his powers are not working well. But something is happening..." she said.

"Let's watch the trial, alright? If they fail, we'll find someone else!" The angel of the god of the sea states before they both disappeared and time returned to normal, and the Leviathan was put to sleep.

Hadina, Queen, and King stared at each other, before they disappeared as well.

"So, finally, two pillars have met. The pillar of a New Era and the pillar of Prosperity," Grat said on his throne. The fair old storyteller man from the orc express. Unlike his former haggard appearance, he wore a flamboyant dark golden robe as he sat on a large throne, with many screens floating before him filled with writings on them. In his eyes were clocks constantly moving, similar to Eva's, but despite his old looks, he looked like a middle-aged man with just gray hair.
