Chapter 175: Necrosolons

Chapter 175: Necrosolons

“Oh, now I remember. But seriously, did any of my skill levels even increase? What was all that fighting in the war for if I barely got any skill increase?" Aurianna sighed in disappointment as she stared at the screen.

"Well, it's a good thing I'm here. I'll increase my skills as much as possible and push myself to my limits. As much as I hate hard work I must work hard for what I want!" She declared with determination.

[New Quest]

[Kill 30,000 poison monsters in the Poison Lands. The higher the level of the monster, the more quest points you would earn. Estimated quest points: 1,200,000.]

"I feel more motivated! Hmm, I wonder if Eva can do something for me once my days here end. Well, I'll talk to her about it later," Aurianna muttered to herself as she summoned two revolvers into her hands and pointed them at the swamp. Suddenly, a group of monsters rushed towards her, baring their teeth and aiming to attack her and rip her with their teeth. But Aurianna leaped into the sky away from their reach.

"Come on, you stupid monsters! If you want to act tough, try harder!" Aurianna yelled with excitement as she looked down at the monsters below with a grin.

She immediately pointed her revolvers at the monsters and began rapidly firing at them, killing tens of them in an instant. Spotting her position, some of the poison monsters leaped into the air, especially a few that had a humanoid form, jumping at her. They used their tendrils to wrap around her body and squeezed her tightly as other monsters of their kind immediately stabbed into her body, causing her blood to bubble.

'They're poisonous too!' Aurianna realized as she freed herself from their grip by snapping their tendrils with her hands.

She then snapped her fingers, summoning 100 guns around her, which began firing rapidly at the monsters below and around her.

"Aish!" Aurianna hissed as she noticed large holes appearing all around her body, parts melted by the monsters' poison.

However, that didn't deter her. Aurianna aimed her revolvers at the monsters' heads, killing them instantly. She dashed around, killing more than a hundred of them in a few days, with hundreds more continuing to come, attracted by something.

Even though Aurianna didn't know what attracted them, the excited smile on her face didn't disappear. The thrill of killing monsters excited her. However, Aurianna suddenly succumbed to her injuries and died again.

But she revived and continued her killing spree, shooting monsters and rampaging through the wetlands, not caring whose territory she entered.

After two years of killing monsters, Aurianna watched the land before her filled with the bodies of dead monsters. She spent a week gathering the bodies in one place, enduring their disgusting scent and poison to increase her level.

"Well, time to eat all this up. I believe it's better to eat this much than die once than eating them one by one and dying," Aurianna assured herself with a nod as her body turned into liquid form and all the bodies sank.

Suddenly, Aurianna's heart thumped, and she couldn't help but scream in agony as she felt as though she was being burnt alive. Her body kept regenerating as her organs were devoured by numerous deadly poisons, slowly fusing with her blood cells.

Tears streamed down her cheeks, but the resolve in her eyes didn't waver. She bit her lips and endured the pain, scratching her body like crazy until she forced herself to resist the urge. Despite her efforts, the poisons coursing through her veins overcame her, and she died. But even upon reviving once again, the poisons still affected her. This battle against the toxins within her body, coupled with fighting the monsters that came her way, persisted for a whole month.

"It seems all the monsters here are dead," Aurianna murmured as she realized no more monsters were charging towards her.

"I guess I should find other monsters if they won't come to me," she muttered, hopping from tree to tree through the swamps. After a whole day of running and searching, Aurianna reached a new area that had less trees. She immediately noticed that the area was strange.

There a colossal skeleton of a snake taller than a mountain lay. Its dark-colored skeleton intrigued her as she approached, feeling like a speck beside it.

"The air here is more poisonous than where I was. And this swamp has a thick, black hue that burns my feet. For someone at my level to get injured by this, it's no ordinary swamp." Aurianna mused, her curiosity piqued.

"I wonder what monsters are here," Aurianna grinned, jumping onto the snake's skeleton and surveying the surroundings. Spotting a horde of intriguing monsters, she summoned a sniper rifle into her hand and used it to observe them. She immediately fired a shot and despite their distance she managed to land a hit on one, however to her surprise the creature was protected by an exoskeleton which didn't even crack with her shot.

"Such high-level defense. I want that," Aurianna grinned, leaping down from the skeleton snake and dashed towards the horde of strange creatures.

"Oh, so they already noticed my presence," Aurianna noted as a group of armored scorpion-like monsters charged at her. One smashed its claws into the ground, creating a large rock that immediately turned into metal, while three others helped lifted it and hurled it at her.

"I wonder how they always know my exact location," Aurianna pondered, while Eva pulled at her hair in frustration from her void space whiles she was watching Aurianna.

"Because you're an idiot! When you kill, you leave a mess and scent of blood, and they follow that scent!" Eva cried, watching Aurianna and Leila stressfully.

"These kids never let me catch a damn break," she sighed.

The appearance of the scorpion monsters confused Aurianna. Despite resembling scorpions, their heads resembled jellyfish, with long translucent light blue tendrils ending in yellow tops. Their thick dark exoskeleton acted as a defensive shell, and their claws were replaced by plant buds with a large mouth and sharp teeth.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

"My poison magic has clearly increased," Aurianna grinned as she noticed her poison magic had reached level 80.

"But damn, to reach just level 80 with all these monsters? Well, that's to be expected. I heard poison masters take thousands of years to even reach level 300."

"Courtesy Call," Aurianna snapped her fingers, summoning ten large torrents around her and pointing them at the horde of scorpions. The torrents fired blasts at the monsters, but to Aurianna's surprise after the smoke subsided, their defensive shells were much stronger than she predicted and it protected them.

Frowning, Aurianna canceled her skills and summoned two sabers into her hands, and dashed at the approaching monsters. She leaped, twisted in the air, and landed on the back of one monster, realizing it was much larger up close than it appeared from afar.

It resembled a small house, and the earth quaked as it and its group walked around.

Seeing Aurianna on one of their members' bodies, all the other monsters stopped marching and glared at her before rushing to attack.

“What the hell is this monster?”

[This is a Nercosolon], the system announced.

Suddenly, a thick purple miasma poured out of the monster's pores. Sensing the danger, Aurianna immediately jumped off for her safety and landed on one of her floating guns in the sky.

“So these Nercosolons were just waiting for me to land on the ground to attack. They don't seem like they can see, so I think they are using those tendrils to sense my presence,” Aurianna speculated as she eyed the monsters below.

“Well, if Courtesy Call couldn't do any damage to them, it means my guns wouldn't work. I guess I'll use choppers and sabers then,” Aurianna said with an evil grin as her teeth sharpened like a shark's, and she jumped towards them at light speed.

She spun and stabbed her sabers into the beast's back, but she rather received a reflective shockwave from her own attack, causing her crystal arms to shatter which surprising her.

“What the hell is that shell?” Aurianna wondered as her body went numb after that attack.

Seeing an opportunity, the Nercosolon raised and used its scorpion tail to stab her from behind, piercing through her heart, and immediately poisoning her and causing her body to melt in less than a minute.

“I see, now this time I can learn how to attack beings with high defense body. Bring it on! I'll eat your damn shells and take that defensive power for myself!” she grinned as she revived again and stared at the horde of Nercosolons.

The Nercosolons roared as they stared at Aurianna furiously. They were drawn by the scent of blood from hundreds of creatures assuming there was a large battle, and expected a grand feast with their corpses, only to see one strange being before them carrying the stench of other beings.

One of the Nercosolons quickly dashed towards Aurianna aiming to devour her with its claws, but Aurianna used her sword to slash at it, emitting sparks from her sword and the monster's teeth.

The Nercosolon then tried to strike her with one of its tendrils, but Aurianna quickly ducked, allowing the tendrils to pass harmlessly over her head.

She then took some steps back and examined the Nercosolons.

“Their entire body is covered in that strange armor. There has to be a soft spot! I just need to find it!” Aurianna told herself as she avoided the attacks of the incoming Nercosolons and decided to take her chances. She jumped and landed on the head of one of the Nercosolons and slashed at it repeatedly.

But no matter what she did, she couldn't crack its shell, and the miasma released from the beast eventually killed her.

“Aurianna, think. These beasts are scorpions; they must have a weakness. But their entire body is covered in a thick shell,” Aurianna gritted her teeth as she pondered what to do, hiding from the Nercosolons with her invisibility and illusion reality.

“I can use light. If I can't pierce their skin at this moment, I can use light rays to corrode them from the inside. But the light here is so damn weak. So it would take me a while. Well then I can also use this as an opportunity to increase my strength! Nercosolons, you're my new punching bags,” Aurianna had a crazed, excited look on her face as she made the sabers in her hands to disappear.

“I'll use my raw strength. Till I crack your damn shells with my bare hands,” Aurianna declared as she gripped her fist and charged at the monsters.

“And when I call her an idiot, she doesn't understand,” Eva sighed and facepalmed.

_______

"Hah, I've been fighting for how long now? I can never really tell the time I'm in this place," Aurianna sighed as she laid and swang her leg on a tree branch.

[You've been fighting for 30 years], the system announced to Aurianna.

"Wow, I didn't even realize that. In the end, I don't understand how Eva's time magic works. But all my skills have definitely gotten stronger! After eating all those monsters my poison magic has finally reached level 231. However, those Necrosolons were extremely tough to chew. My gums still hurt. The Blood Mongers tasted nasty. Crawling Chaos—ugh, it makes me shiver when thinking about the taste. So many monsters. But it was all worth it!" Aurianna encouraged herself.

"What's more, I've reached level 1034. So I gained 574 levels for fighting every single day for 30 years, and only having two hours of rest. Finally! Just you wait, Leila, I'll catch up to you soon, and we'll be on the same level!" Aurianna laughed as she gripped her palms and thought about Leila.

"Thirty years to reach that far. Seriously, why is my exp bar so large? It's not fair!" Aurianna cried dramatically.

"But now that I think about it, my father is over 300 years old, and he's an Arc Human. Why do I worry myself about this?" She sighed as she fidgeted around on the tree.

"I have to worry myself about this!!" She yelled.

"I started three years ago," she began to calculate.

"This year, I'm 11, but I'm actually 25 in the real world, and for a year, I was asleep," she recalled, the thought of a whole year going by with her doing nothing causing her to frown in displeasure.

"So, the two years I was in the space, I came here for three days in the real world. And the time limit was 36 years in this space. So that's 108 years for three days, plus another 3 days for the following year. And that would be 216 years for six days," she typed it down on her phone so she wouldn't forget.

"So, I used 216 years to get to level 460. 216 plus 30 is 246. So I used 246 years to get level 1034," Aurianna calculated, and she frowned.

"I have finally determined what affects growth! I'm an idiot!" Aurianna cried and slapped herself. "I spent my first year, three days, dying and crying. All because of Eva, Carol, and myself. And the second year, three days, was training my body and skills. So, my level didn't increase much. I'm such a loser. A failure of a Gemaris. Iris is 20 years old, and she's level 20,000. The heavens are unfair to a beautiful girl like me."

"Instead of me getting my hair done and having luxurious baths, I'm stuck here fighting monsters, and my hair feels like shit. If only those bastards didn't kidnap me. I know I'm cute and adorable, and such a thing was inevitable. It's all the knights' fault for not protecting me!" Aurianna cried.

"Aurianna, it's your fault for rushing into a fight without knowing your enemies. Those knights and Blade warned you, but you didn't listen. And you were forcefully teleported! Stop crying and shifting blame to others for your own misdeeds, you damn idiot! Take some accountability!" Eva yelled as a chibi version of her appeared and slapped Aurianna on the head, causing Aurianna to fall from the tree and her head plunged into the muddy ground.

Aurianna quickly pulled her head out, but her white hair was dripping wet with dirty water, and she cried more.

"Why did I have to get muddy lands?"

"Can't you stop complaining! How many times should I tell you? You just have too many damn problems with your race. One, your exp is larger than others, so leveling up would be slow. Your mp is larger than others. Your race is stronger. What's more, you have a seal. Can't you get that into your thick skull?" Eva's chibi form pinched Aurianna on the nose and pulled her cheeks. “And you're so ungrateful both you and Leila. Your leveling up is already fast enough!”

“King Girsal is more than 300 years old but he's above level 5000,” Aurianna grumbled.

“Don't you listen to anything I say!!” Eva yelled and begun her assault on Aurianna's cheeks once more till her fair cheeks were red and swollen.

“You wicked old woman,” Aurianna hissed as she placed her hands on her cheeks and rubbed them.
