Chapter 638

Chapter 638:

“There seems to be something between them, if I’m being honest.”

The whispers continued, but Kellan appeared indifferent.

Before leaving, he spoke in a low voice to Allison, “Please come to my office during lunch, Ms. Clarke. There are some perfume issues we need to discuss.”

To the others, his words were purely businesslike, but Allison caught the deeper meaning behind his gaze.

“…Alright,” she replied.

That was the same gaze that burned into her when it was just the two of them at night.

Marianne sighed as she watched Allison walk away. “This company’s so strict. They won’t even let Ms. Clarke rest at lunch!” But little did she know, as soon as Allison entered Kellan’s office, he pressed her against the door.

The door slammed shut behind them with a loud thud.

Allison wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice low. “Mr. Lloyd, there are people outside.”

Kellan responded with a deep, unrestrained kiss.

“I heard about this morning. Once our collaboration is wrapped up, the Perry family will pay for what they did. No one messes with you…”

His cedar scent enveloped her.

Allison tilted her head back, meeting his intense gaze, a smile tugging at her lips. “I already forgot about that. But… you didn’t call me here just to say that, did you?”

As he released her, Kellan’s gaze lingered, his lips still faintly marked from their kiss. He looked incredibly alluring as he restrained his desire.

“Allison,” he began, his voice hoarse, “I have something to give you.”

Kellan retrieved a sleek white paper bag from behind his desk. “You gave me a ring that day,” he said, “so I thought I’d return the gesture with a gift of my own.”

The bag was adorned with a striking ice-blue butterfly, the wings appearing so vivid that they seemed ready to lift off from the brand’s logo.

Allison’s eyes widened as she took in the name — SAMSARA.

Kellan’s deep voice broke her reverie. “This is from Samsara, a top luxury brand of heels. Each pair is unique, known for its one-of-a-kind designs.”

Allison, of course, knew the brand well — it was her creation. Samsara had risen to fame thanks to her original designs. But after a fallout, she’d left the team and distanced herself, watching from afar as her work continued to gain acclaim.

She raised an eyebrow, her tone amused. “I heard someone offered four million last year and still couldn’t secure a custom pair. And here you are, giving them away, Mr. Lloyd.”

“Some offers just weren’t high enough,” he replied, setting the box carefully at her feet.

His gaze met hers, dark and unwavering. “To me, the cost doesn’t matter. If you like it, it’s worth it.”noveldrama
