Chapter 325

Nigel's words sent chills down Rhys Corley's spine. It was a matter of life and death, so Rhys was scared.

After thinking it over, Rhys suggested, "Given how serious this is, I'm worried I might not have what it takes to complete the task. How about dispatching the skilled fighters? Even if the plan goes wrong, they can still snatch it. "But I want to make it clear that it's not about me being afraid of death. My main concern is failing and delaying the plan."

Nigel fixed his cold gaze on Rhys for a while before adding, "I'm worried that mobilizing too many people might raise suspicion. You're a newbie who has never completed a single mission before, so you won't stand out. The key element is that you're a Cafran. That's your real over."

Feeling defeated, Rhys knew no amount of talking would change anything. No matter how dangerous it was, he had to do it.

...

When Matthew returned home, he saw Rachel playing with Lorraine in the yard.

Rachel looked pretty happy. They were playing rock-paper-scissors. Rachel had several paper slips stuck to her face, whereas Lorraine only had one. It looked like Rachel was losing.

Upon noticing Matthew's return, Lorraine cheerfully went over. "I've won against Rachel, Dad. Isn't that amazing? Come one! Let's play rock-paper-scissors as well."noveldrama

Matthew felt speechless. Lorraine didn't address Rachel as "Ms. Carter" anymore. But seeing how excited Lorraine was, Matthew didn't want to lecture her and kill the mood.

Matthew clenched his fist and chanted along with Lorraine, "Rock, paper, scissors."

At the end of the chant, two fists came together at the same time. Lorraine didn't win and was feeling a little annoyed. "Alright. Let's go again."

Matthew wanted to let Lorraine win, so he decided to stay with the rock option. After the chant, he put out his fist again. Again, two fists were shown.

Lorraine scratched her head. "Can you stop copying me, Dad?"

Matthew soon understood how Lorraine kept winning. Rachel must have intentionally picked scissors. "I got itwrong. Let's try again. Rock, paper, scissors."

Right after they spoke, Matthew put out scissors, and Lorraine did the same.

Rachel burst out laughing. "Like father like daughter. They are perfectly in sync," she thought giddily.

Lorraine's mouth twitched. "I don't want to play with you anymore. You keep copying me."

Matthew rubbed his head. He genuinely didn't intend to imitate Lorraine's choice, but he had no one to turn to about it.

Rachel then called out to Lorraine. "Come on. Let's play another round. Rock, paper, scissors."

Rachel played paper, and Lorraine went with scissors.

Upon seeing this, Lorraine cheered, "I won! I won again!"

Matthew watched the scene unfold and finally understood the situation. Rachel kept an eye on Lorraine's hand. As soon as Lorraine raised her hand, Rachel knew which move to play.

Rachel had deliberately let Lorraine win after seeing Lorraine's gesture. Even though it was a minor thing, Matthew felt touched. Rachebreally cared about Lorraine.

Rachel spent some time playing with Lorraine before saying goodbye to Stanley and Lillian. She also made plans to play with Lorraine before leaving. However, Rachel ignored Matthew entirely and headed straight to the car. Matthew hurried over and got into the driver's seat.

"I'll drive you home."

Rachel entered the car and looked outside the window without saying a word.
