033- Keep It A Secret

He swung the wooden sword at me, knocking me to the ground yet again.

"What's wrong with you today, Nakamura?! You will never learn anything at this pace~!" Arthur said in frustration, kicking my leg softly.

I looked at him, rolling my eyes in irritation. "I can't get a fucking day off! Something's constantly happening to me or the people around me, it's as if I was handcuffed with a fucking Boulder that keeps me down! It's so frustrating that I can't even focus anymore!"

He sat down next to me. "Hm? What happened?" He asked curiously.

I looked at him for a moment.

"Can I tell him? It still feels weird talking with him like that, after I hated him for my entire middle school years?"

I rolled my eyes. "Ehh... whatever!"

"Someone has cursed my friend, and while I was trying to help him, everyone thought that I was doing something else, and then everything started falling apart." I rolled my eyes. "I just don't know what to do anymore! I tried to talk with her, I tried to help him, I tried to find a cure for my condition... ehh..." I sighed deeply.

He looked into my eyes. "Then why are you trying to do everything at the same time, when you cannot even do one thing well?" He said.

"Huh? I mean... that's not a bad idea... but everything is too important to..."

"Everything has its value, Nakamura. You may say that something is as important as the other thing, but the truth is that you're lying to yourself. You should start with the things that are more important to you, not the other way around." He said softly.

"Fuck... I wanted to become a better person... just to make myself feel better..."

"My greed forced me to pick multiple things at the same time, is that what you say?" I asked.

He nodded softly. "Something like that."

I sat up slowly, looking down at my hands.

"Hey, Princess..." I said.

"Don't call me a Princess, you fucker!" He said in frustration.

"Can you teach me some spells?" I asked.

He started laughing like an idiot for some time.

"What are you laughing at?! I'm serious!" I said in frustration.

He stood up from the ground, looking down at me. "I've never told you why no demon, even my father likes me, haven't I?" He asked.

I stood up, grabbing the wooden Hussar Saber. "Uhh... I don't think you did?" I said in confusion.

"I cannot use Vymir... no... I don't think I even have Vymir to begin with." He said in shame.

"What the fuck..." I gripped the wooden sword tighter, enhancing my body with the biggest amount of Vymir I ever did. "Are you talking about you fucking idiot!?" I swung the sword towards him with all my strength.

He dodged the sword easily and looked at me with anger. "Hey! Don't attack me when I'm speaking, you fucker!" He said.

"Why are you saying that you can't use Vymir when you just did, you stupid Princess?!" I asked in frustration.

"Huh?! What the hell are you talking about?!" He asked.

"I just used the largest amount of Vymir I ever did to enhance my body and you just simply dodged this attack as if it was nothing, after saying that you have no Vymir at all~!" I smiled playfully.

"Are you telling me that I... I actually can use Vymir?!" He grabbed my collar in disbelief.

"Yeah! Tho it surprises me that you've never noticed that your body is doing something unnatural..." I scratched my chin.

He stared at me for a moment and then a look of confusion appeared on his face. "Hey, Nakamura?" He asked.

"What do you want now?" I asked.

"Where are your bruises from our last training session? I'm sure you were beaten up!" He said curiously, releasing my collar.

"Oh?" I touched my face, searching for any bruises or scars, but couldn't find anything.

"I haven't even noticed, y'know? Maybe my body is just regenerating very fast... I mean, I've known that my Vymir regenerates fast from the beginning, but I never thought about my-..." The wooden sword fell out of my hand and I felt an extreme amount of pain in my entire arm.

I dropped to my knee. "FUCK! THIS HURTS! AGHH! IT'S LIKE MY FLESH IS BEING TORN... TORN FUCKING APART!" I said in pain, clutching the arm with my left hand.

He just looked at me with a slightly worried expression. "What happened? Why so suddenly? Are you making fun of me or something, I don't understand!" He said in frustration.

"Oh, I remember... I have already experienced that pain once... back then when I used Vymir Enhancement while running to school..." I looked at my right hand and the pain was slowly going away. "I guess my body is not used to that amount of Vymir coursing through it..."

I stood up slowly, stretching my arms as the pain was gone. "I'm okay! It was just a painful episode, don't worry about it, Hirano."

"Okay? You know what, Nakamura?" He asked.

"What?" I rolled my eyes.

"You're so damn weird that I will never, ever be able to comprehend what's going on under that skull of yours~!" He said, giggling.

"Well, first of all, fuck you!" I said, irritated.

"And second of all, we were talking about your body using Vymir, and I know a person who could probably help you with it..." I said, trying to hold my laughter.

"Hehe~! He will get his ass whooped by Sebas, just like we were beaten up~!"

He looked at me with excitement. "Really?! You can do it for me!? Oh, my Devil! That's so... that's so... unnaturally kind of you... after all... you are supposed to be a bastard..." He said as he became more and more suspicious.

"So, you don't want to meet this person, huh~? I mean, what can I say? It's your choice~!" I shrugged playfully.

"No! No! And no! I want to meet this person..." He then clenched his fist. "If it will make me stronger, then I will take anyone's hand, even yours... I will do anything to help Mitsuki..." He muttered under his nose with hatred.

"Huh? Mitsuki? Is he talking about his sister? And why is he so gloomy so suddenly? Mehhh~! I need to somehow brighten up his mood now..."

I smirked and patted him on the shoulder. "Oh, yeah! I forgot to tell you, but your sister is very pleasant to look at! Especially when she's...-" He cut me off by hitting me straight into the nose.

"Fuck you, Nakamura! Don't talk dirty about my sister!" He said with annoyance.

The impact from the punch made me take a step back as I held my nose in pain. "Holy shit! It hurts! Aghh! But it was worth it in the end~! I won't be talking to some gloomball!"

I looked into his eyes and smirked playfully again. "Fine, fine~! Let's just go, okay?!" I said.

It was around 6 PM and we were in the plebistery.

Sebas looked at us.

"Tea?" He asked.

"Nope," I said.

"Yes, please," Arthur said kindly.

"So Shoji, when will you stop doing it?" Sebas asked calmly.

"What do you want from me now, huh?! I literally didn't do shit and you're saying that I should stop doing something, get the fuck off me, man!" I rolled my eyes in frustration.

"What do you even mean by that?!" I asked.

Arthur looked at me with annoyance. "Why are you so mean to this priest? He's a nice old man, or am I missing something?" He scratched his chin.

Sebas gave Arthur a cup of tea and sat down by the table, looking at me. "You're constantly bringing demons to my church! I'm already an abandoned priest and the church rejects me, but if they find out about me then they might send someone to kill me and all of you." He said firmly.

Arthur smiled awkwardly. "I start to feel like I shouldn't be here, maybe I should leave or something?" He asked.

"Nope! You're not going anywhere, Arthur!" I said and then looked at Sebas again.

"If it wasn't for me bringing everyone here, then we both would have been dead two days ago!" I hit the table in anger.

"And if it wasn't for you bringing them here, then your friend would be still with us instead of me, Shoji." He said calmly.

I stood up, clenching my teeth. "You motherfucker... are you implying that Haruki's state is the outcome of my decisions?!" I asked, with fury.

"Haruki? Are you two talking about Hadeka Haruki from class 1-A? Now that I think about it... I haven't seen him at the Entrance Ceremony..." Arthur looked at me with confusion.

"Shut the fuck up for a moment, Princess!" I said.

"Sebas! It's your fault! You were supposed to be teaching and protecting us! But when a dangerous person appeared, you were just standing, not doing anything! If it wasn't for Layla being there with us, we all would have been dead! And who brought Layla?! Who?! YES! IT WAS ME!"

Arthur's eyes widened. "Don't tell me you're... you're talking about "that" Layla..." He said with terror in his voice.

Sebas looked at Arthur, completely ignoring me. "Why are you so afraid, kid?" He said with some suspicion in his voice.

"There is a girl named Layla... she has long black hair... ominous presence... and very bad intentions towards every one... I heard that she's killing demons for fun..." He said as his hands started shaking.

Sebas looked at me with disbelief. "You knew about that and still brought her to a damn exorcism?!" He stood up and grabbed my collar. "DO YOU HAVE THE SLIGHTEST IDEA OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF SHE DECIDED TO JOIN THE LUMINOUS ORDER OR BACKSTAB US AND BECOME A CRAZY DEMON, HUH?!" He screamed in anger and disappointment.

I swallowed my saliva in fear. "It's the first time I've seen Sebastian than angry... no no... it's the first the I see him angry... but... why..."

"FUCK I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT SINCE THE FIRST TIME I SAW HER! WHEN YOU BROUGHT HER, I FELT LIKE SOMETHING BAD WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN, AND YET I IGNORED MY INUTION! HOW STUPID AM I?!" He released my collar and grabbed his head in frustration.

I took a step back and spoke up loudly, looking at the two with determination.

"You two don't know shit! Layla isn't bad and for sure is not evil! She is a good and kind girl, even tho she thinks she isn't! I won't just let you two describe her as a monster! She has a bigger heart than any of us, you Arthur, you Sebas, and for sure bigger than mine!"

I took a deep breath. "You know how fucking disgusting it is for you to speak things like that after she saved all of us?! After she defeated that stupid demoness from this fucking idiotic fan club?!" I said.

Arthur just sat there, confused out of his mind. "Huh? What the hell is "Luminous Order"? A group? And what demoness?" He asked.

"Pft..." "Pft..."

Sebas suddenly started laughing loudly, as if I said something funny. "Hahahahahaha~!"

"What's so funny, huh?!" I asked with irritation.

He looked straight into my eyes with a judging look on his face. "If I didn't know you I'd think that you really care for those who you call friends... but remember... yesterday when I and that pink girl were searching for a way to help Haruki-kun..."

"What are you talking about?!? I asked.

"...You were playing a game called fucking with a demon instead of doing anything to help your friend."

Arthur looked at me in confusion. "Fucking a demon? Really?" He sighed in annoyance.

"Yeah, really. That girl Carmilla told me that she saw you leave the campus with another demon, you also weren't answering your phone when she called you." He said with a judging look on his face.

I took my phone out of my pocket and saw a couple of notifications.

[Missed Call: Bubblegum (12)]

[Missed Call: Kaori (39)]

[New Message: Carmilla: "Where the hell are you going with that stupid girl, huh?!"]

[New Message: Carmilla: "I know that you've read the previous message!"]

[New Message: Carmilla: "You motherfucker! Go to the priest when you'll regain your senses!"]

[New Message: Kaori: "Heyy where are you, bro? You aren't answering my calls and it's getting late!"]

[New Message: Kaori: "Ahh! Your phone must be dead or you're with someone! If you are with big sister then kiss her from me!"]

[New Message: Grandma: "Hello, Shoji! I finally got your contact from Kaori! She told me that you are spending a night with Layla! I just wanted to tell you that even tho she is a good girl, I don't want to be a great-grandmother yet! So if anything happens then protect yourself! Kisses from grandma!"]

"Fuck... I didn't have time to even turn on my phone..." I sighed.

"You don't know shit! I was trying to help him! I even got a lead on who did that, unlike you two! And you are the last person who can judge me for what I'm doing to and with my friends! You've dragged your friend's grandson into a world that's filled with fucking death that becomes even more dangerous with each small step! You've tried to blame me for everything that's happened but the truth is what my sister said! It's not my fucking fault! You were the one that invited us to the exorcism, you were the one they were after and you were the one who failed to protect us!" I pointed at him.

Suddenly the door opened and the atmosphere shifted to a heavy one.

"CAN YOU ALL SHUT UP? I WANT TO SLEEP! THE BED IS SO BAD AND YOU TWO ARE MAKING IT EVEN WORSE BY BEING SO LOUD!" Seraphina walked into the room and screamed at us with a tired and annoyed expression. Her wings were gone and she was clad in pink pajamas.

Arthur's jaw fell to the ground as he looked at her. "Angel?!" He stood up in amazement and disbelief.

She looked at him with confusion and smiled softly. "Oh? A demon here, huh? Is he the one you were talking about, Sebastian?" She asked, her voice calmer.

Sebastian looked at her and sat down again. "No, that's yet another demon that this brat brought." He said calmly.

Seraphina looked at me with surprise. "Oh! Hello... uhh... Shoji was it?" She smiled.

"Yes, it is, what are you doing here, pigeon?" I rolled my eyes at her.

"Hey! I'm not a stupid pigeon, don't call me that!" She said, shaking her head in frustration.

Arthur was just staring at her without even listening to the surroundings.

Sebastian's eyes widened and he stood up, looking at me with disbelief. "WAIT WAIT WAIT! WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" He walked up to me and grabbed my collar.

"Can you stop grabbing my collars?! It's not intimidating, it's fucking stupid!" I said.

"Hey Sebastian, calm down! It's not that deep!" Seraphina said and then she noticed that Arthur was staring at her.

She looked at him and her cheeks flushed slightly. "What do you want... demon...?" She said quietly.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?! SAY THAT AGAIN!" He demanded an answer.

"I called her a pigeon, that's it," I smirked playfully.

Arthur stood up and reached his hand out to her. "Hello... my name is Arthur... Hirano Arthur." He smiled at her.

After a moment of consideration, she shook his hand. "Seraphina..." She said as she looked away.

"NO! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU CALLED HER, I'M ASKING ABOUT WHAT DID YOU SAY EARLIER! BEFORE SHE CAME HERE!"

"What's wrong with this man, he's been acting like a whole other person since we stumbled across that demon..."

"That you suck?" I asked in confusion.

He released my collar and sighed deeply, calming down a little. "You said that you have found out who did it, so tell me who it was!" He said.

"I only know who she was, not who she is right now. The name itself isn't worth more than a piece of a carrot!" I rolled my eyes.

Seraphina joined our conversation. "Just say the goddamn name, idiot! You two woke me up for no reason and you're dragging all that for no reason!" She said in frustration.

"Yeah, yeah! You can't wake people up like that, Shoji! It's a no-no, and is very mean! What would you do if someone woke you up?" Arthur added, nodding softly.

I looked at them and smirked. "Ahh~ I see how it is! But that fast? Is it at first sight or what, huh~?" I said sarcastically.

"Just say the name already!" Sebastian said with annoyance.

I sighed softly and rolled my eyes again.

"Isolde... Isolde Veyne, the name she once used. Tho at least I know that she is in a Noble family!" I said with a smirk on my face.

Seraphina and Sebastian looked at each other and then at me. "Who?" They said at the same time on confusion.

"Veyne? Like... Ronan Veyne?" Arthur asked with confusion on his face.

Seraphina looked at him. "Ronan Veyne? Who's that?" She asked curiously.

"I'm also curious!" Sebastian said.

I nodded and Arthur sighed deeply. "Two decades ago there was a demon who went on a killing spree. His Mutation was something special as it allowed him to remove the limiters from curses or make entirely new ones. It was special because he could even kill people stronger than him, tho he was quickly put down and thrown into Ebonhold." Arthur said.

"Ah! Ebonhold! The biggest and most secure prison in The Underworld! I've seen it once when I was little!" Seraphina said with a nostalgic smile on her face.

"Oh? Never heard of you being in The Underworld, Seraphina. What were you doing there?" Sebas asked curiously.

"That's weird... I've also never heard of an Angel in The Underworld..." Arthur said with suspicion.

She blushed and covered her mouth. "Oopsie! I forgot... oh God... that was a secret between Lucifer and my Dad... but I guess it's too late now, huh? I can tell you but promise not to tell anyone, kay~?" She smiled softly.

"I Vow," Sebas said immediately.

"Sure!" Arthur said.

"Fine" I sighed.

"So let's start with the basics. All three of you probably know that Lucifer The First and Michael were brothers right?" She asked.

"Yes." Sebas and Arthur both said.

"Nah, I didn't know it, but it doesn't seem that important anyways," I smirked.

"Ahuhu~" She giggled. "You're wrong, human! It's very important when it comes to the story I'm about to share." She smiled even wider.

"My father Seraphim, is Michael's son, and the current Lucifer is Lucifer The First's son."

"Wait! So you are..." Arthur's eyes widened.

"Yes, my dear!" She poked his nose softly. "I am the youngest descendant of Michael, that's why I'm so strong!" She giggled.

I sat down on the chair and grabbed my head in disbelief. "That pigeon is related to someone who was the first ruler of the angels?! She?! I don't even know what's going on anymore..."

"Continue with your story, Seraphina," Sebas said calmly.

Her mood slowly shifted to a sad one. "So... Lucifer The Third had a son, who had a daughter who was around my age... her name was Lucy... she had crimson eyes and blonde hair... I bet that if she was there till this day... she would be a beauty..." She sniffed softly.

"CRIMSON EYES?! RED HAIR?! WAIT WAIT WAIT... NO NO NO... THAT MUST BE A COINCIDENCE... THERE'S NO WAY SHE IS TALKING ABOUT THAT CHICK..."

"Hm? What do you mean "if she was still where"?" Sebastian asked.

"She was my favorite and only cousin... she always brought a smile to my face and was very funny... but then... out of nowhere... she died... she just died... tho I never even found out how... and later I found out that her father had also died in a fire..." Tears started running down her cheeks and Arthur patted her back.

I looked down at my hands with disbelief, my mind trying to comprehend what was going on. "That can't be her... she's dead... fucking dead! There's no way someone would just come back to the world of living just to curse me... right?!"

"Hm... that's a sad story, but I'm glad to learn about something I didn't know," Sebastian said calmly.

"I remember hearing about Lucifer's son's death when I was little, but I never knew that he had a daughter or any offspring," Arthur said with confusion as he tried to calm her down.

She looked up at him, still crying softly. "That's because... when the next descendant of Michael or Lucifer The First is born... no one besides the current Lucifer or the current leader of Heaven knows about it..." She said.

"When I was talking with someone once... they've said something like "Demon King Candidate" or something... what does it really mean?" I asked.

Arthur looked at me. "Since the current Lucifer is too old to have any children, there was a new rule made in the Demon constitution. It says "When the current Lucifer has no descendants, then The Doomrise shall begin. For as long as The Doomrise will be, the males shall compete against each other to prove to be worthy of the crown." Or something like that, I don't remember." He then sighed. "Tho the next candidate for the role of Lucifer, Zarathor Malvaris was killed by..."

"Layla..." I muttered under my nose.

"Exactly," Arthur said.

"This shit is getting so fucking uncomfortable every time her name is mentioned..."

I stood up and stretched my arms behind my back.

"Ima get going, I still have one more thing to do today..." I sighed and then looked at Sebastian.

"Give me your contact, I will inform you immediately when I find out more about that woman named Isolde Veyne," I said calmly.

"Sure, kid." He wrote his contact down on a piece of paper and gave it to me.

I put the paper into my pocket and turned to leave. "Are you going, Hirano, or do you really want to train with that old geezer?" I asked.

Arthur looked at me with uncertainty, but then he looked at Seraphina and smirked. "Ehh! I guess everyone needs to train to get stronger, you know, Nakamura~?" He smirked.

"Oh fuck... I know that smirk..."

"Pft fine~!"

Suddenly Seraphina spoke up with a hint of suspicion in her voice. "Sebastian told me what happened that night... and I'm sorry for your loss... Haruki seemed to be very kind, unlike you I'd say... but the thing that confuses me is how did you find that woman's real identity... it's very... weird..."

"Unfortunately I cannot tell you that, I keep my promises, after all... or at least I try to..." I said the last part under my nose and then left the room.
