I walked down the empty hallways.
"What should I do?! I can't do anything... my hands are tied... is it the end of the story?!"
"Yeah... I think so... Mr. Muraoka was right... I should walk around this campus for the last time..."
I took a key out of my pocket.
"Ehh... I should give it back to the janitor, I guess."
After a moment I stood before the janitor's room. I softly knocked on the door.
"Mr. Johnson! Are you here?"
"Is it you, Shoji?! Come in!" A voice replied from the other side.
"Okay!" I grabbed the handle and opened the door, walking in and closing the door behind me.
The Janitor smiled at me and reached his hand towards me. "So Shoji, can you give me the key you've stolen?"
I took the key out of my pocket. "Yeah, that's why I-... huh?" I looked at him in confusion.
"How do you? What? How do you know that it was me?!" I said in surprise.
He just smiled at me.
"Wait a second... don't tell me that you're the one who placed the camera there!?!" My mouth hung open in shock.
"Exactly! Come on, sit down I want to talk with you, Shoji." He smiled and gestured for me to sit on a couch in the back of the room.
I gave him the key back and sat down on the couch.
"What do you want to talk about with me man..." I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"Are the rumors true? I've heard some teachers talk about you... they said that you will be removed from the list of students... and now you're here and not in class." He asked curiously.
I leaned back on the couch. "Yeah, I'm in a kinda bad situation, right? There's no way I could be accepted back in, just by begging some teachers. Even Mr. Muraoka declined my request... I think... that I might be doomed."
The janitor sighed. "Oh, that's kinda sad. I liked you being here, after all, how could I hate you after you helped me multiple times, and never snitched about me drinking and recording the girls."
"Oh yeah... about that... how did you know that it was me? Even if the camera was on back then, I'm sure that I was wearing a baklava. So how?" I asked curiously.
"Well... there's no one else working here who would do such a thing, and the students are behaving very well, so my suspicion was directed towards you."
"I don't want to be mean, but you're an anomaly here, Shoji-kun."
"An Anomaly? What mean by that?"
"I don't want to insult you in any shape or form, but you're just different than the other students in this school. Look at how well they're behaving, even if your class you have some shining stars, Kiri, Haruki, and Layla who are the top three of your class when it comes to grades."
"And then you come, a walking disturbance and chaotic force that's constantly messing with everyone and everything around it! You've also gained popularity across the whole school, not just the first graders."
"I did? How come I haven't known?"
I smiled, my ears pleased by what I heard.
"I'm the janitor here, I've heard students speak, tho you're not popular in a good way, ya know?"
"I mean! Popularity is popularity, some girls like guys who aren't held back by the rules, so here I am!" I smirked pridefully.
"And here it is! That's what I've always liked about you! You're constantly talking about girls... maybe you just remind me of my younger self?" The janitor scratched his chin in wonder.
I leaned even further on the sofa and my smirk widened. "So for how long have you been collecting all the data, old man?"
"5 years."
"Damn... I'm a small compared to you, I guess..." I said in frustration.
I stood up from the couch, stretching my limbs. "I think it's time for me to go, I don't have much time left, I want to check many places I've never been to..."
"Oh, it looks like you've accepted your fate, Shoji." The janitor sighed, "It won't be the same without you here, after all, you're the only one who understands my perversion. I wish you the best in your new high school, Shoji." He smiled.
"No... you're wrong..." I teared up. "I don't want to leave... I never wanted to... this school has the finest girls... ranging from cuties to hottest... from the less to very curvy... from kind to mean ones... I will never accept the fact that I was expelled..." My tears started to flow down my cheeks. "I want to stay here with all my heart... but it's so frustrating! It's so frustrating that I cannot do shit! My hands are tied, I don't see any opportunities to make a comeback... I don't see any holes I could fit through... I don't see... I CAN'T IMAGINE MYSELF WINNING!" I grabbed my uniform and squeezed it tightly in frustration.
"You'll find a way, Shoji. When a person wants to have something, then they'll get it with enough hard work! Believe me!" They stood up and patted my back while smiling kindly.
"Mr. Johnson... do you believe it...?" I looked into his eyes with hope.
"Yeah! I do!"
"But I don't..." I shoved his hand off my shoulder and headed towards the door.
"Oh, one more thing before you leave, Shoji!"
"...What...?" I rolled my eyes.
"I don't know if you have noticed or not, but your Vymir has manifested into an aura that surrounds you. It's very faint, tho it's very weird and might give some people creeps."
My eyes widened and I looked at him. "What?! How do you... wait... don't tell me that this whole school is run..."
The Janitor was surprised. "Why aren't you surprised? You know what Vymir is?"
"Mr Johnson... are you... no..." I started to connect the dots.
"He knows about Vymir... he must be a demon... so there's a possibility that most of the teachers are some kind of demons..."
"But wait... one week ago..."
"Mrs. Takahashi noticed that Carmilla was angry at me back then... but she didn't kick me out, but left the class with Carmilla for a couple of minutes... and then after they returned... she started to talk about clubs and everything... she knew that I wrote down the answers from someone else's test... she knows that my pride in that moment overshadowed my rational thinking... she's planned all of this... she used Carmilla to expel me! She knew that Carmilla would either make me skip classes or just kill me... that motherfucking bitch...! I was just a pawn in her silly game!"
I kick the nearby trashcan in fury. "THAT BITCH SET EVERYTHING UP! MOTHERFUCKING WHORE! OH, YOU STUPID WOMAN... I WILL PULL UP SUCH A REVENGE ON YOUR ASS... TAKAHASHI!" I screamed.
The janitor smiled and spoke with an encouraging tone. "I also don't like that woman, Shoji. I don't know why you've suddenly snapped like that, but I like your attitude!"
I looked at the priest and the Vymir aura that'd been around me disappeared in an instant. "Mr. Johnson! Can you give me a favor?" I smirked.
The janitor smirked back at me. "I'm all ears, kiddo."
Later, when I was leaving the school building, I noticed that the lights were on in the old gymnasium that hadn't been used for like three years from what I heard.
"Oh...? Is someone there, in this old ruin? Hmm... I mean I was never inside of the old gymnasium, so why not try out, Nakamura Shoji!" I changed my destination to the gymnasium.
I saw a huge sign above the entrance, it seemed to be new.
"Huh? Martial Arts Club? I've heard my classmates talk about the clubs so many times, but I have never heard any of them mention something like 'Martial Arts Club'... I wonder who's in here."
I walked into the gymnasium and looked around.
"This doesn't even look like a gymnasium, more like an arena..." I sighed softly and when I was about to leave I heard a voice.
"Is someone in here? To join my club?" I recognized this voice immediately.
I looked at him with a surprised and disgusted look on my face. "Hirano Arthur?!"
"Nakamura Shoji?!" He said with the same expression on his face.
"What are you doing here?!" We both said at the same time as we walked towards each other.
"What are you doing here, you white-haired princess, huh?! It's weird seeing you without girls surrounding you from all sides!" I demanded an answer.
"What are you doing here, you stupid pervert, huh?! You were removed from the student list!" He demanded an answer.
"I shake my head, I was just curious about what is going on here, know?! And besides I will be attending here again very very soon!"
"Girls all around me? What are you talking about?" He asked in confusion.
I rolled my eyes. "You know what I mean! You were always surrounded with fangirls who wanted to suck on your seed for no reason at all!"
"Oh... yeah... that was in middle school. Now that I think about it, we rarely see each other nowadays, that's probably why you were still thinking that I'm the center of attention..." He said, tho he seemed a little sad.
"Huh? What's wrong with him? He's supposed to be my rival... not act like that."
"Hey princess, is everything alright?" I asked curiously.
He sat down on the ground, not saying anything.
"Oh yeah... you've stated that it's your club earlier... how come there are no people with you here?" I looked down at him.
"Something's wrong... he's not supposed to be gloomy like that."
"Things have changed, Nakamura... no one wants to be my friend here..."
"Huh...? I mean... back in the middle school every guy from our class hated you, cus you were stealing all the girls... but there are barely any guys here..."
"Since you were expelled, I will tell you something, just because I'll probably never see you again."
"Hey! I told you that I'm not going anywhere!"
He looked up at me, his eyes seemed empty.
"Do you believe in demons, Nakamura? Do you believe in magic? Do you believe in the supernatural?"
"Huh...? Where did that come from? I think I know what you're trying to imply... I mean, who wouldn't know, right?!"
"You're a demon!", "I'm a demon." We both said at the same time.
"Yeah, I've already figured that much out! Most of the students, and almost every teacher are demons."
His eyes went wide. "You believe it...?"
"Oh, man! Listen to me! For me,e you're just my rivaknow ow~?! Besides! Saying that you're a demon hasn't answered any of my questions! Why the hell does no one want to be your friend here?!" I crouched in front of him.
He just looked at me in surprise. "You're not scared? Why?" He asked with uncertainty.
"Oh, Princess! Shut the fuck up and answer my questions! Why would I be scared of someone who doesn't even have a ppercentof the pride my rival had, huh?!"
"Remember how one week ago you handled me in Muraoka's class?! That was my rival! Not this bitchass here on the ground!" I screamed at him in fury and frustration.
"You're a goddamn student council member! You shouldn't be so pathetic! And even worse... be that pathetic to the biggest annoyance that the student council had to face yet!" I slapped him on the cheek.
He shook his head and slowly stood up, looking into my eyes. "What happened to you since the last Monday, you fucker?!" He grabbed the collars of my uniform.
"That's more like it, rival!"
"What happened?! I've found a new dream to chase after! The most dangerous of them all! Do you even have a dream, Hirano Arthur?!"
He released his grip on my uniform.
"A dream...? I've never thought about it... I thought that my only purpose is..." He then stopped speaking and gazed at the ground.
"I had no purpose... that's what they've been telling me my whole life..."
My eyes widened when I heard that, I remembered how many times my grandpa told me that I had no purpose, once when I broke a cup, once when I tried to cook, but only made the kitchen dirty like a playground, once whenIe tried to go fishing with him, but couldn't.
"Then set a dream for yourself... something hard... something almost impossible to achieve... it'll help you with that feeling."
"A dream... huh?" He hit his face with a wooden sword that he had iwithhis help.
"A dream!"
"I won't ask about his family, nor anything else related to it. He seems to be down, not like he used to be."
"So why are you all alone in this club?"
He looked around. "I've heard that no one was in this club, so I've joined. Other demons cannot stand me, they hate me, that's why I decided to go somewhere where no one else was and I also like martial arts, after all, I've managed to learn swordsmanship to the peak by myself."
"But I don't understand one thing... why did you even try to help me right here in the first place?" He asked curiously.
I rolled my eyes. "I couldn't stand seeing my rival acting like a pussy, it's pathetic... and besides... it's a good feeling toat leastt try to help without expecting anything in return from time to time..."
Arthur shook his head in disbelief. "Who are you, and where did you hide the previous Nakamura?!"
"I'm the same me, I just want to be better... but sorry! I need to go, just make sure to stop being pathetic and do something with your stupid ass~!" I turned around and headed towards the door.
"Oh! Typical for your stupid ass, Nakamura~! I better not see your ass in this high school ever again, you suck~!" He said loudly, making sure that I could hear him.
I smirked and rolled my eyes, leaving the gymnasium.
"I've always thought that Arthur Hirano was just a playboy who never used the attention he's gotten... now that I think about it, we always insulted each other and this conversation was the first real one that has happened between us... I misunderstood him, he doesn't seem that bad haha~!"
