In one moment he looked at me, muscle and blood seemed to come out of his mouth, he ate something I can't say, but in his emotionless eyes that I already know, it seems it wasn't enough for him. Without any hesitation, he started charging at me and I throw the equipment to the side, like I did last time, and jump to the other side, towards the building. I managed to see him pay attention to me, but his long and clumsy head missed, but his tentacles did not and he started trying to throw them at me.
This time I know how to deal. Before he could lock his tentacles on me, I pulled out my knife and pushed them away, the armor on the tentacles managed to repel the plasma blade for some reason I don't understand, but it made him fold them back and start turning towards me. I turned my head to the sides and found the entrance and while he tries to raise his head, I run and prepare my weapon to shoot. I quickly entered the building and the first thing I saw when I entered was a large amount of empty benches covered in vegetation, with walls covered in glassless windows and bones everywhere. No sign of humans anywhere
I continued to run deeper into the structure while the Rex managed to break the wall and scatter the fragments everywhere. I looked and looked to see where I could turn between all the fragments and walls and without any hesitation, I turned in one direction and the Rex, seemingly enraged, continued to chase me. Between the bones scattered in every corner, I continued to try not to slip between all the obstacles that stood in the way. Rosalina keeps an incomprehensible silence, even as I fight for my life.
I'm alone now.
I thought while I was running and feeling the fatigue and weakness starting to take control of my choices, the Herx not only doesn't show the same signs as me, it manages to catch up with me quickly. In one moment I saw a checkered and smooth tile floor, and I decided I had to take a stand.
I lowered my body and legs as soon as I reached the checkered floor and jumped backward so that I was able to stand on two feet and began to try to aim the armed rifle at the stray Rex. I pressed the trigger while sliding on the floor and a plasma projectile came out quickly, missed it, and hit one of the branches and the ceiling, distracting the predator and causing it to turn to the side, hitting the benches that were standing. As the Rex tries to stand up and deal with the slight impact, I almost tripped and fell on the hard floor, feeling a strong thump.
I started to get up, but the Rex recovered before me and started to move towards me with big steps. Just before he opened his mouth, I pulled my hand to my front and pushed myself backward, sliding on the floor as he threw his head with his mouth full of teeth to where I was. I went under him hoping not to get crushed under him and quickly managed to roll forward and continued to run away from him. He tried to move and turn in my direction, but his big head prevents him from turning and I managed to escape him for now.
I kept running more and more through the corridors and deeper into the building until I couldn't hear or see him. I stopped and tried to breathe deeply, because of the tiredness and exhaustion that my body felt, but I felt that I could not stay for much longer in the same place. I had to leave the place or find a place where I could stop for a moment and think. I surveyed the surroundings, when I was awake, and when darkness began to dominate the place. The lights started to turn on and show my way and the screen of the helmet just shows me the map.
I carefully navigated through all the benches, fragments, and vegetation everywhere I look, as masters of the structure until I reached a wide and large corridor. I tried to look at the map and focused on trying to enlarge it, but it didn't respond to me, or Rosalina.
A sense of worry only continued to swell as I began to make my way down the hallway in the dark. The whole feeling of claustrophobia while there is someone in the building who will probably, when he sees me, chase me again, I no longer know where else to move forward, especially running away from here. But my hope of finding someone else still leaves me in this place.
But when I think about it, if the Rex is here, what will happen to the other humans if they survived, and where Gabriel was wrong, they ran into each other? The plasma projectiles proved ineffective in penetrating his body armor, as did the knife, which I tried to penetrate through the armor.
I continued to think so as I progressed down the wide corridor until I came to a large room with a hole in it, and in the center of it, the cable that stretched from the middle of the room to the dark sky. But when I turned the headlights in their direction, all I saw was a pile of bones and vegetation where the elevator itself should have stood. A feeling of chills went through me and despite this, I continued to move deeply among the bones that are scattered everywhere. I couldn't identify whose they were, and I'm sure Rosalina would have been able to decipher where at least part of the poor animal belonged. Suddenly I saw behind me something similar to dried ferns arranged in a circle and it stands in the center of white lumps. I moved forward and began to go around this strange pile and as I stood close to the place, I heard footsteps coming from the corridor.
Frightened, I started moving quickly to the other side and dimmed the lights so that whoever was coming wouldn't see me. The ground began to shake with each step, and when I turned my head, I was able to see the silhouette of the rex approaching the white block and sitting on them. I immediately understood what it was about - I entered deep into his territory!
I gently began to sneak and find another way out of the place and gently walked around the wide room while he lay down on the block and rested. When I got to the other side, I saw another wide corridor leading to the other side. I was filled with joy at what I saw and moved towards it with quick feet. As I passed through the second wide slope, I was very worried about him finding me, I was as fast as I tried to move and checked my ammo with the plasma rifle while it was worth it, and I noticed that I had 3 last shot rounds armed inside the weapon. I remembered that I threw the gear away on the other side that I can't get back to as of now.

At the end of the walk, I left the slope and more benches and vegetation were waiting for me in the light of the lanterns. But I almost tripped over a big crack and fell hard on my stomach. The suit protected the fall, but the rubbing and the blow are still felt and I tried to hold back and not squirm in pain. I heard a splash of water from the direction where I fell and moved the headlights on it - water flowed all over the crack and the direction I was aiming at it.
A very loud roar echoed from the corridor I had just passed through and footsteps were heard quickly advancing towards me. I started to get up and run away from the place. As much as I could, my body tries to resist and wants to collapse, but the adrenaline is what keeps me going all the pain I felt until now was no longer felt and the energy returned to me, but the steps only increased.
I glanced at the map on the helmet screen and saw that I was moving in the other direction and saw the exit in front of me! I increased my speed and saw through the projected light my exit and ran. The steps quickly became stronger and I find myself suddenly overtaken by a large silhouette that began to throw its huge head to the side and threw me high into the window frame and straight into the building.
An inner panic that I felt until I started screaming in the air and suddenly landed hard on a surface outside the building. The pain I suffered is astronomical until I couldn't feel my legs. I screamed in pain and behind me a smooth sound of squirting was heard. When I rolled myself in his direction, I saw moving and rushing water in front of me. I started to rise to a height and saw with the light that I was in front of a huge and dark body of water. Deep in my heart, I felt this was my only way to escape.
I dragged myself along the entire surface to try to reach the water, but I heard footsteps coming from the building. I heard their footsteps and when I turned to see who was standing in front of me, I realized that two large shadows emerged from the entrance and not one - the first one that shone the light of the headlights was the same one that chased me earlier. But the other one seemed to be smaller than him, but he was missing one tentacle and one eye and a scar on his jaw.
"You!" I said in front of him - this is the same one I met at the airport! It's the same one that tried to eat me and thanks to Rosalina and luck I managed to fend him off. How did he get here?! I've been driving in a car for days and a speed greater than any living thing I know is capable of, but here he is, in front of me, like a spirit seeking revenge.
He smiled evilly as if he understood what was going to happen. I started to roll as much as I could with the legs that I don't feel, towards the water, but one of them managed to jump on me and grab one of my legs in its mouth and throw me into the air.
Time felt slow when I was thrown into the air, I didn't understand why and why it felt like this all of a sudden, on the one hand, I felt that I was done. I'm going to be swallowed whole by one of them, crushed by thousands of teeth everywhere, a horrible death. But on the other hand, I heard when I reached the peak and started to dive, a voice came out of nowhere:
"Colin! Shoot in the mouth!"
Without hesitation, I quickly took my weapons before reaching the large rex's mouth and activating it. I hit his jaw and grabbed hold of one of his teeth and fired the first bullet, it hit him straight in the throat and he roared in pain! He knocked me to the ground. I rolled on the ground as my legs ached with searing pain as I charged the second projectile, at the same time the wounded Rex began charging at me. I pulled the trigger and fired the second shot and the bullet bounced off his head armor and hit his eye. He too began to roar with pain that made him blind. He suddenly tripped and started crashing toward me. I pushed myself out of the collision course and heard a big boom from him.
The big rex came to his senses and with blood flowing from his mouth, he turned and tried to hit me with his tail while I was loading the last bullet. I tried to dodge his tail, but it hit me in the stomach and threw me into the air once more. He managed to grab me with his tentacles on both hands. It's not good at all. I saw my weapon fall to the ground and slide into the water.
The flashlights revealed how I see - all the rows of his teeth in his round jaw, and that blood flows from his mouth, sacrificing me more and more quickly to him. I try to free myself as much as I could but he started to lock my leg. The teeth did not penetrate through the suit, but the gap created between them broke all my restraint from the fight and overcame the adrenaline.
I screamed with indescribable force.
I closed my eyes and accepted that I was here kicking the bucket.
Then I heard a big boom in my direction. I felt that all the places that held me were released and I landed on the bottom the next time. I opened my eyes and saw how a huge hole had formed inside the Rex and smoke was coming out of it before it collapsed on the edge of the water and drowned in it. I didn't understand what happened exactly, but I didn't give it the credit for the time that the injured and now blind Rex got to his feet and turned my head towards him.
"You're a stubborn piece of!.." I screamed at him while he opened his mouth in my direction, unable to respond back and then I saw one side of a wide red projectile that directly hit his neck and created a powerful explosion until it threw both him and me into the water. I felt the water enveloping me and I was sinking. I couldn't hold on any longer and all my strength was gone. I felt myself passing out as the suit began to flood with water and tried to close the vents, but the small holes created by my fighting and traveling caused the water to seep in.
A light appeared from above and I saw an arm reaching out to me before everything went dark and my eyes closed...
I didn't feel or see anything. I don't know where I am or where I am. Im dead? Is this what it looks like after death? Heaven? I tried to look around, but nothing changed. I don't know how long it's been since I got here.
"Wake up" a weak voice is heard in the distance, and I try to reply to him, but no voice came from me
"Colin! Wake up!" I saw a light coming in front of me and I was drawn into it and quickly everything went back to darkness.
"I think you slept enough. Woke up sleepy"
I opened my eyes and I find myself under a lighted lamp that blinds me. I got up and felt strange and funny. I threw my hands into my pockets but he wasn't there. In one sensation I felt that I was not wearing the suit at all. I rubbed my eyes and began to see that I was inside a closed and messy room.
"You finally woke up" a strange voice sounded in front of me, and I looked at him. My eyes opened and I was able to see who was talking in front of me - a guy with a funny suit, a bandana around his head, and black hair he has 2 hands and 2 legs:
"Are you human?!" I asked.
"Funny question" he answered and continued: "Last time I checked... yes. And to prove that I'm human, I think we'll start on the right foot - my name is Chronos"
