"According to all the data we have collected so far" Rosalina began to point out:
"It seems that there is only one possible thing: we jumped forward in time" Silence occurred between the two of us before I began to respond:
"How many periods have we jumped?" I asked her.
"I have no way of knowing. A biological clock in living beings only allows me to compare different species from when they split, but the extremes of the change of these species are so great that it cannot be explained except for the fact that you are not carbonically anesthetized for two and a half weeks, these are for several tens of millions of years. Admittedly, this is just a scattered theory due to data that is still lacking"
"To hear from an artificial intelligence something like that, it's not something I've heard for a very long time. More than that, if it was for the defined time you mentioned, wouldn't all the buildings have been erased from existence by then? And let's not talk about me being buried under the rubble, probably not alive by then?!"
"Correct claim" She immediately turned off all the illustrations that were on the helmet and hasn't made a tweet since. I decided to close my eyes and fall asleep. Sleeping time took in lightning speed until everything became clear and the darkness was replaced by rays of light that radiated from the holes in the treetops. without any unnecessary delay and this time with Rosalina's visual map displayed on my helmet, I continued to walk through the woods. The noises and giggles of those flying creatures still haunt me, but I tried to forget what happened. More time passed while I didn't notice the movement of the sun in the covering branches, I already saw the end of the beautiful forest that I had walked through until then. I started to quicken my steps despite the heavy weight of my load and the light only got stronger until my helmet should have gone into solar filtering mode. And in my first steps out of the forest, it seems that I have returned to the empty streets of the metropolis - the white streets covered in black ash with the skyscrapers that the forest had hidden until then clearly show how the vegetation has grown on it and is sticking out of every hole that exists in these buildings, like mice in cheese. My field of vision widened when there was no one in particular to spiky grasses popping up around every corner.
Some of the suit's sensors locate land points on the visual map:
"Spotted familiar Tangled Gazelle movement moving in this direction"
I advanced slowly and behind some of the taller grass, I hid and saw them moving in herds and gathering the grass. Next to them were tiny birds with four wings and with a big horn on their heads? Each of them walks through them as if they were in protected nature reserves. I was waiting for an answer from Rosalina:
"I didn't find any physiological signs that show aggressiveness, it's safe to pass by them" Satan's words said his words!
I got out of the grass and started moving toward the herd that was standing in my way. They noticed me and looked at me with their cat-like eyes, but paid no attention to my presence as they continued theirs. These strange birds, on the other hand, flew away when they saw me, but immediately went back to their place, gathering something in the gazelle's fur. I gave no reference while Rosalina was behind the scenes, not that I know what she was thinking there, gathering information about anything interesting. It wasn't long before we passed the herd without any problems and I continued to move forward.
The time that has passed now seems much more noticeable to the eye as there is nothing that prevents me from looking at the sky and seeing the colors of the sky fade to black. I understand that it's already getting dark, but I wanted to take a look at how much more I have left on the target. Rosalina immediately opened the holographic map of the route and began to scroll through it and is curious about my current situation at the moment.
"The estimated distance you have left to travel is less than a day" Rosalina announced.

I was glad I was close to trying to get some luck after this long journey. But the more I think about it, the more my worries and concerns begin to rise: What if this journey were to return? Is there someone waiting for me there to pick me up? Why did I stay here? Is my wife okay and waiting to see my face again? All this only increases my desire to try to reach the goal, but Rosalina has other plans:
"Don't push yourself too much, we are still in a foreign environment than you knew before. Balancing rest and activity is an essential requirement for humans, especially in case an unexpected stressful situation occurs"
"You're right" I replied to her: "I guess my survival comes before my worries"
I settled down and prepared for another night, before the fateful day when I would finally get a chance for hope - if there wasn't at least someone waiting, at least there was something to help me or a way to communicate with Luna or any other colony that existed or with other survivors, it was already a good sign. I did things before I went to sleep.
"Colin! Emergency!" Rosalina woke me up with a loud voice and I jumped right out of the place. The helmet that I didn't take off called Shina showed me the visual map in a big way and many points were moving in my direction. I knew the sign right away and quickly took all my equipment as fast as I could and started moving to a nearby shelter. The flashlights lit my way and help me try to see something so that I could find shelter, but all the buildings that were around me were blocked. Out of no choice, I continued to move forward into a wide corridor where the streets split and right there Rosalina aimed the laser at the location of an entrance door that was to my right. I ran as fast as I could under the structure and turned off the lights and Rosalina switched my helmet display to heat mode.
A lot of red lumps started moving in the street, these are similar to the gazelles I met earlier. They seem to be moving in large herds in the direction I'm moving. It didn't take long for everyone to walk past the screen and out of sight of the presentation. I advanced to the street but more groups started to appear I retreated to my place and saw how another herd was moving in the same direction, but suddenly some of them split off straight in my direction and I went deeper into the building. The sounds of the jump echoed inside the dark building, and in a few moments, everything became quiet. I moved back to the opening after waiting, but the monitor showed something else: an extremely large block was moving in one direction and a small one suddenly tripped and the big one just jumped on it. The heat map from the distance I was at doesn't clearly show what it looks like or what exactly it does, but I notice one thing among the distortions - the small lump has already disappeared and the big one has moved on. I think I understood what it is and the reason for this movement: in every ecosystem, there must be a predator, and this predator is huge! The red block suddenly stopped in front of the entrance to the building. I immediately quietly moved deeper into him, hoping he would pass quietly. He didn't move as I began to arm my weapons, ready for the worst to confront him. I trust my weapon to kill, but I don't trust myself to aim, so every little mistake is a sign of life and death.
The red blob shown started to grow but then it got smaller and kept moving towards the moving herd. I stayed a few moments in the same place armed.
"The situation is safe" Rosalina confirmed and I sat down, decided to stay in this building instead, and turned the lights back on. The building, as in the previous times, was hollow and empty, but a place like someone's house or some kind of guest house. But more than that, there was nothing that could melt my heart. I found a quiet and distant corner and sat down.
"Rosalina, were you able to scan this thing?"
"Negative, it was out of scan range"
"So I don't know what it was, but my gut tells me it's the predator of the place" Something bigger than the gazelles that are already the size of an interhuman like me seems small in comparison, I feel like I've walked right into his territory and if I'm not careful, I'll probably be a snack.
"Indeed. I will try to monitor their every move as always in case they were close on him."
"Thank you" and I started to close my eyes the sight of the huge block raising the small one did not feel comfortable to me even with all the technology I have, but where I am now is no longer a home.
