I walk back down the stairs and see everyone sitting down in the spacious living room talking to each other. Jenny looks up and sees me. "Hey Kamen, what took you so long?" She asks, smiling. Smiling back, I tell her. "I was upstairs and I ran into Rosetta. I talked to her for a bit, and I found the library and decided to look at your family's collection of books. I have to say it's a nice library. A lot nicer than anything you'd see in the human world." Everyone looks at me funny. "We didn't think you were one to like reading." Alistair says it with a smirk on his face. Everyone starts laughing. I look at them and give them the middle finger.
"First of all, fuck you guys. Second of all, I'm going outside, and I'm going to explore the area." I say, walking towards the door. Elizabeth and Jenny stop me. Looking at me, Elizabeth tells me to be cautious outside because of the beasts. "I want you to understand, Kamen, that these beasts are dangerous. Some of them have abilities that you won't be able to fight easily."
Laughing, I look at her and tell her. "I'll be okay, guys; don't worry about me; it'll take more than a beast to take me down." Jenny looks at me, upset. "Damn it, Kamen, I don't want you to get hurt. We talked about this before. I love you. I don't want anything to happen to you. If you get hurt, I'm going to kill you."
Raising my hands, I sigh. "Okay, I'll try to stay out of trouble, I promise." Elizabeth and Jenny sigh in relief. I kiss Jenny and walk outside. Alistair, looking up, stares at Jenny. I didn't think you would tell him so soon, Jenny. I didn't know you had it in you." Elizabeth laughs. "There's something interesting about him; I can't help but think about what he'll turn out like in the future." Her insides squirmed with the thought, "What if he one day became the strongest vampire ever?"
She would love to fight him then, in battle and in bed.
Walking outside, I follow a different path down the road. This one looks more traveled than the other. "This place, even though it needs sprucing up, still looks amazing." I look around in amazement. 10 miles down the path, I notice something moving in the tall grass. I focused on it and noticed my vision zoomed towards it. I was shocked. "Could I always do this?" I wonder to myself. Sighing, Lumen spoke up. "You couldn't always do it, no, but like I said before, things changed since Vestis and I came together. I'm not sure what exactly everything is." I nod my head and walk forward, trying to see what's in the bushes. Getting closer, I see it's a beast. It's body is mainly made up of scales, all the way down to its tail, which is shaped like a morning star.
"I wonder how strong it is." I think to myself, then remember that Jenny wanted me to stay out of trouble. I decide to turn around, and I step on a branch that cracks under my weight. "Fuck," I say under my breath as I hear the beast roar out in anger that someone was disturbing their meal. I turn around and see the beast running towards me on all four legs. It jumps out of the tall grass, and I notice a leg in its mouth. "It was eating someone. Yuck. I'm not going to be your meal, you little scamp." I say this as I pull out my sword. The beast approaches me and swipes out with its claws. I parry the attack with my sword and grunt. "The amount of strength and pressure this beast can produce is insane." I think as I push the beast back. I jump back 20 feet to keep my distance and gather my thoughts.
"I wonder what Elizabeth would do in this situation?" I think to myself and realize she would probably toy with it before putting it out of its misery. I shake the thought from my head before sending a normal fireball out towards the beast. It hits the scales of the beast, and a plum of smoke is left there. "Well, that was easy." I say as I see the smoke dissipate with the beast standing there with no marks on its scales. Not even a scratch. "Damn it, why can't I catch a break?" I say it out loud as I charge towards the beast with light energy going into my sword. I never really used light energy with my sword; I always just used the darkness. But this time, I don't know what will happen. My sword strikes the beast and cuts into it, making the beast shriek in pain and turning its body to whip its tail in my direction. Seeing this, I try to block its tail with my sword and realize that was a bad move. The tail is stronger than I thought, as it sends me flying back 10 feet. I hit the ground and had air knocked from my lungs. I try to get up, and I see the beast running towards me again, angrier than it was before.

"Look, buddy, I'm not the one who pissed in your cereal." I say as I move out of the way of the beast, striking its tail and slicing it clean off with my sword. Seeing this, I smile. "So it would seem that even though your tail's strong, it's weak against strikes. Good to know in case I run into any more of these freaks." I charge up a fireball, infuse it with light, and send it towards the beasts, where its tail should have been. Sensing the energy, the beast dodges the fire, and I see something that shocked me to the core. The beast's tail, which was once gone, is slowly regenerating back onto the beast.
"Of-fucking-course. I can't ever get a break." I say this as I infuse my sword with fire and light. I rush towards the beast. I strike down on the beast, and I feel the blade go through it. The fire cauterizes the beast's wound as I slice through it, cleaving it in half. The beast falls down dead. Raising my hands in the air, I yell out, "YEAH, FUCK YOU BEAST!" Suddenly, I hear two more roars. "Oh god damn it." I say this as I turn around and see the other beasts run towards me. "Not today, bitch." I say as I charge up light and dark, fuse it with my fire, and send it towards the beasts. As soon as it hit the beast, it exploded. I was sent flying back from the explosion. A big plum of light and dark could be seen in the sky. Looking up, I can't help but sigh. "Damn it, Jenny's going to know I fought a beast. She's going to be pissed." I get up and see remnants of the two beasts that were just lying there dead with parts of their bodies missing. I decide to let Vestis eat them. The darkness comes out of my hand and swallows them whole. "Mmmm, tasty." I hear Vestis say: I look down and notice something on the ground covered in black blood. I pick it up and realize that it's a crystalized heart. "That's strange; I wonder why there's a crystalized heart here." I saw the blood and felt the hunger take over. I pull the crystal closer and lick the black blood off of it. As soon as the blood touches my tongue, I feel something inside me churn. I hear Lumen's voice. "Did you just ingest that beast's blood?" I nod. Sigh. "I'm not even going to ask why you thought it was a good idea." Suddenly, I dropped to the ground in pain. I feel the blood go through my veins, making me stronger. It takes 10 minutes for the pain to fade. I get up and decide to look at my stats. 'stats' I think to myself.

Looking at the screen, I notice that the three beasts gave me 30 points. "I wonder why they gave me 30 for 3, but when I fought those vampires, they only gave me 1 per vampire, and holy sh*t, that explosion took a lot of my health," I think to myself as I decide to use some of the points.
'5 points added to endurance... New endurance level 40
10 points added to Strength... New Strength Level 30
10 points added to Wisdom... New Wisdom Level 20'
I decide not to use the last five points and close the window. "Wait a second, 'level'?" I say to myself and look at something that wasn't there before. "Your level distinguishes you from the other vampires; where they are currently, they're at a fixed level, whereas as you aren't, you could theoretically become max level whatever that is." Lumen explains it to me. I nodded my head in amazement; I never thought of that. Putting the crystal in my pocket, I decide to walk onward. "At least for a couple hours, I wouldn't want Jenny and the others to get worried." I think to myself as I notice a cave entrance. Knowing it's a bad idea, I decide to go into it anyway. As I walked in, I noticed how dark it was. "I don't think anyone's been through here in a while," I think to myself as I summon light energy out of my hand and let it float above me, creating a light source so I could see. There are claw marks all over the walls. "Something's been fighting in here; these are some deep cuts," I say as I take a closer look. I see matted black hair with old blood dried into it. I hear something deeper in the cave.
Knowing how stupid I clearly am, I decide to go further in. With the sounds getting closer and closer, I reach a fork in the cave. Looking at the right, I notice the sound is coming from there. I decided to go to the left. "For right now, I need to check out the rest of the cave to see if there's anything good here." I say to myself as I walk down the left corridor in the cave. Walking at least a mile into the cave, I notice something shimmering lying down on the ground. I bend down to look at it, realizing it's a crystal. I pick it up, and the ground caves in under me. "Fuck me!" is the last word out of my mouth as the hole in the floor swallows me up.
