217- From the bunker to the dungeons: The Artifact

"This bastard..." Alexander lay on his back and looked up

Even with his full concentration he couldn't see the edge of the pit he had fallen into either because of the darkness or because of its depth.

"Hmm, this looks soft." He reached out and picked up some of the material that fell on him, which looked like ordinary sand.

This sand had slightly cushioned his free fall

After a minute of lying down, he finally decided that it was time to get up, but his legs couldn't hold him up so he fell to his knees and his face hit the ground causing some sand to enter his mouth

Alexander spat out the sand and wiped his tongue several times

But something strange suddenly came to his mind

"Why does this sand taste weird?"

He decided to stop thinking about it for now because he was in a situation that required him to think about more important things

"I think I broke some bones."

He didn't know exactly how deep this pit was, but looking at how badly his body was damaged, he could tell that he was at least thousands of meters underground.

One of the advantages of the Hunter's Path was its ability to descend from high places and settle easily.

In this, they were similar to cats that could land safely no matter how high they fell.

The Giant's Path had a massive muscle mass that gave its followers a rocky skin that could not be penetrated, and therefore it was difficult to wound them. Even if their skin was penetrated, this wound would heal quickly due to their amazing regeneration abilities.

As for the Hunter's Path, its followers had very light bones, which made it easier to move, and this gave them the advantage of landing safely from high places.

The Thief's Path had such an advantage, but to a slightly different extent.

Of course, it wasn't easy, as this ability had its limits.

If he fell from a height of ten thousand meters, Alexander would not even hope to survive just because he followed the hunter's path.

Of course, the situation was different for people who had reached the highest levels, such as a saint or an angel.

If it was a few hundred meters deep, he would have been able to descend without a problem

But he estimated that the depth of this hole does not exceed five thousand meters, which explains why he survived, but he paid the price in the form of severe injuries.

After lying down for an unknown amount of time, Alexander was able to stand on his feet again, although his injuries were not completely healed, but he could currently walk

He looked around cautiously to see if there was any way out here

But the place was so dark that he couldn't even see his hands.

This prompted him to activate the Hunter's Eye, making it possible to see his surroundings well, but this put him in a difficult situation due to the speed at which the Hunter's Eyes consumed his Qi reserves.

Then he took a quick look at the cube he was holding in his hand.

Despite his intense desire to study this thing, he realized that he had to get out first and then he could study this cube to his heart's content, so he put the cube in a small bag hanging on his waist.

Returning his attention to his surroundings, he realized that he was now inside a circular hall with walls made of gray bricks.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

The hall contained the distinctive mark of these dungeons, represented by skulls of different shapes and sizes.

Some of these skulls had begun to decompose and turn into... sand?

Alexander put his hand over his mouth at the horrifying conclusion, automatically remembering the fishy taste of that sand.

I definitely need an extended visit to the dentist to clean my mouth."

Alexander tried to ignore the terrible truth about the sand that had entered his mouth moments ago, so he started looking for a way out until he finally found a dilapidated wooden door that had started to crumble due to time.

The strange thing is that the door was the same color as the walls, as if it was a kind of camouflage.

"Is this a camouflage?..." A strange expression appeared on his face, "The place is already dark, why the hell would you need camouflage?"

Alexander couldn't help but curse the owner of this place.

You had the financial ability to set up all these damn expensive traps.

But you didn't bother to bring in a decoration expert?

Alexander cursed the spiritual master who built this place and threatened him with a round of severe beatings

At first he wanted to kill that man because of his involvement with the evil secret organizations, but he didn’t target the spiritual master for a personal dispute

But now it’s become personal

Does that bastard know how much it will cost to treat all these injuries?…Alexander gritted his teeth as he thought about the money he would have to spend on the necessary potion to treat this injury

But he ignored the fact that the spiritual master had set this trap primarily to kill the intruders and he probably didn’t expect anyone to survive falling from this height

So of course the spiritual master didn’t think about something as absurd as the cost of treating the intruders who had broken into his lair

Alexander moved towards the door and delivered a powerful kick that caused the door to be smashed into pieces

He was currently furious and ready to smash the face of the first enemy he encountered

He sustained severe injuries that would require treatment

His clothes were now damaged and covered in the remains of demonic creatures, which would force him to buy new clothes

Not to mention the dentist bill that he would have to pay as soon as he got out of here

Alexander kept calculating the costs he would have to pay, which made his heart automatically ache

He didn’t dare to continue with this matter or else he might discover a new problem that would require more expenses

He entered a narrow, completely dark corridor, giving a suffocating feeling to anyone who entered it.

Suddenly, a strange blue glow appeared near him

Alexander stopped and looked at the blue glow suspiciously

The glow started out as a small dot floating on the ground, then quickly began to expand and take on a certain shape

Eventually, it took the shape of a completely blue teddy bear that slowly landed on the ground

“I can’t believe this worked.” A beautiful female voice came from the teddy bear

"Elena..." A cheerful expression appeared on Alexander, "You look charming as always."

"Shut up." That was the only response that preserved what was left of Elena's dignity

Her strange appearance was like a weakness that she was trying hard to hide

She partially succeeded in that since no one knew about it except Alexander, but that in itself was a problem for her

Alexander, who had a rotten personality, enjoyed making fun of her

Elena often won arguments with Alexander, so Alexander always called out his trump card

Making fun of the teddy bear's appearance

She could only respond to him with some insults while cursing him secretly

"What do you have? You know that the communication spell is not cheap."

The spell that Elena was currently using was a communication spell.

It was a low-level spell and had very limited use because it could only communicate with one target that was pre-selected when the spell was created, making it impossible to use as a general means of communication.

The user had to stay in a safe place during the communication because a part of his soul would be transferred to the target location, leaving his body in a weakened state.

What made matters worse was that the materials used to make this spell were not cheap for Alexander.

In addition, Alexander was not a spirit master, which made making this spell incredibly difficult.

He had tried to make this spell dozens of times, wasting enough materials to make two hundred communication spells.

However, he failed most of his attempts and was only able to make five communication spells.

The result was disastrous, causing him to spit blood in anger.

But he was forced to do so.

He had to stay in contact with Elena until he gets important information about Louise and the artifact she possesses

But Elena's presence here and at this very moment made Alexander helpless as he remembered the fortune he had put into the failed communication spells

"I already know that, I still remember how you were crying and the failed spells in front of you." Elena did not miss this opportunity to direct a scathing sarcasm at Alexander.

Then she looked around with some doubt

The place was strangely dark

When Elena tried to focus on her surroundings she realized that the strange thing next to her was not a rock

"Is that a skull?" Elena backed away with a terrified scream

"Is this the first time you've seen a skull?" Alexander mocked her exaggerated reaction

“No, that’s not the point…” Elena pointed to the skull in horror, “What is this place and why is it filled with all these strange skulls?”

Alexander shrugged and continued walking, “I’m stuck in some kind of ancient cemetery.”

Elena followed him, struggling with her small feet to keep up with his speed, “An ancient cemetery? Aren’t you supposed to be at an academy in the north, how did you end up here?”

Alexander sighed tiredly, “That’s a long story, now I have to get out of here and find a dentist as soon as possible.”

“Why a dentist?”

Alexander paused for a moment and remembered the taste of the remains that had entered his mouth, causing him to shiver for a moment.

Elena noticed Alexander’s reaction and realized that it was something that was difficult for him to talk about.

She cleverly decided to give the information she had before the power of the communication spell ran out, “I discovered that Louise had a strange necklace around her neck at all times.”

Alexander stopped at a two-meter-tall door, but instead of opening the door, he turned to Elena, "What does that necklace look like?"

"It's hard to tell, it's a gold necklace that looked old. No, actually it looked so worn that the gold had started to turn white and there was a strange symbol engraved on it. I couldn't make it out clearly.."

Alexander frowned in annoyance, "Just this? How am I supposed to make use of this vague information?"

Elena slapped her small hands at him angrily, "Do you know how hard it is to act like a normal teddy bear? Do you expect me to approach her and ask her to give me the necklace so I can get more details?"

Alexander shook his head and didn't bother to continue this ridiculous argument.

He tried to search his memory for an artifact with these specifications, but he couldn't find anything.

Most likely, he didn't get a result because of a lack of information, as the shape of the necklace was completely unknown to him, and its power was still unknown.

The important question... was it a necklace in the first place?

It might be something else, but Elena had made a mistake while observing Louise.

Why are there so many doors in this damned place?... Alexander slowly pushed the door open, revealing a medium-sized room. At the other end of it was a circular stone table with an open wooden box on top, revealing its contents.

Alexander's mouth opened wide when he saw the contents of the box in front of him.

"What's that?" Elena asked, seeing Alexander's terrified face.

But Alexander didn't answer her and kept staring in front of him in shock.
