139-Growing doubts

Theodore's eyes were deeply disturbed

He almost flew with happiness because the den in which the members of the Bloody Crescent Organization were hiding had been found. He could finally rest psychologically after the anxiety that had been haunting him for days about the possibility that the Bloody Crescent Organization would launch an attack on Cairn City.

But his happiness faded after he heard the report indicating his son's involvement in this matter

And the worst of all is that this happened a long time ago, meaning that Alexander was a child at that time and therefore the responsibility fell on his guardian.

What if Alexander was kidnapped and they used him to pressure the Ford family?

What would he do if these criminals tempt his son into joining them?

Should he fight his son and imprison him?

Whenever Theodore thought about it, he felt pain and guilt

No one spoke and they just looked at Theodore, because they sensed his confused feelings

They understand Theodore's feelings. Hearing that there are such criminals roaming around your children would be a nightmare for any parent

After a full minute of silence, George tried to break the silence. “Is that man really dead?”

Old Walter knew that George was talking about Winston Hitler, so he provided the information they got. “After interrogation, it turned out that Winston is not dead, but rather faked his death and left the city. The problem facing us is that the person we arrested is just a low-level member, so he does not know what position Winston holds within the Bloody Crescent organization.”

Macron adjusted his glasses. “Do they have any personal information about him?”

“No, we did everything we could, but every time he answered that he didn’t know anything.”

"In this case... Alexander is the only one from whom we can get information about this man." Macron looked warily at Theodore, and so did everyone else

Theodore sighed, it was necessary to interrogate Alexander to obtain this information

This case is tied to the future of the entire empire, so they must do everything they can to get the information they can, even if it means interrogating his son.

“ Alright...” Theodore said the word heavily, with his head lowered

George nodded when he saw Theodore's upset reaction. They should end this matter as soon as they can.

“I don't think it will be as easy as you expect.” A new voice rang in the hall

Everyone turned their attention to the person who spoke

It was Frederic who said these words

They didn't understand what he meant, only George's face became uneasy, as if he only partially understood what he meant

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Do you expect us to have a problem interrogating Alexander?" Macron asked him

Frederic nodded lightly

“Can you tell us what the problem is, please?”

"Alexander is the problem..." Frederic said simply

"..." What does this mean?

The attendees looked at each other in confusion

They still couldn't understand his meaning

Alexander was the son of one of the most important men in the empire, and they all saw how this boy sacrificed his prize to give it to someone else who could make better use of it.

What trouble could such a good, noble young man cause

Frederic shook his head bitterly, these fellows don't know the truth

He is well aware that Alexander seems like a good person in their eyes, especially after the big show he made during the award ceremony

But he wonders what their reaction will be once they know Alexander's true personality

He is sure that Alexander will take advantage of the fact that he is the only one who has information about Winston Hitler to blackmail them for some money or benefits.

“If you really want to get information from him, you should prepare some money... a lot of money.” Frederic advised them based on his experience and his long dealings with this little deceiver

“...” No one answered him, but they began to feel something was wrong

George was looking at the table with a dark expression. “I think Frederic is right.”

“…” Everyone looked at George in shock

Even the Emperor agrees to this?

Some looked at Theodore, hoping to get a reaction from him that might explain what was happening

But even Theodore looked at George and Frederic with confusion

"So...what should we do?" Macron asked cautiously

“This might be a problem if Alexander really won't cooperate with us. Because we can't use standard interrogation techniques...” Old Walter said, looking at Theodore.

Everyone swallowed their saliva, They know very well what he means by 'standard interrogation techniques.'

Old Walter continued. “Therefore, we must use another method. Someone close to Alexander must go and ask him to give us what we want.”

Everyone nodded

Exploiting Alexander's feelings towards someone would be a bit cruel, but it would certainly be better than sending him to an intelligence prison.

“Who will do this?” Although George had asked, his eyes had automatically gone to Theodore

Theodore kept his head lowered, as if hesitating

“I don’t think it would be wise to send Theodore on this mission...” Macron shook his head and looked worriedly at Theodore. "I don't want to be intrusive, but your relationship with Alexander is at its worst right now. If you go to him now and ask him to give you this information, I doubt he will accept this. He will think that you only come when you need him."

Macron said the last words hesitantly

It was a harsh thing to say, but it was necessary to clarify the matter

“I think you're right…” George scanned the Attendance

He didn't want to go in person to meet Alexander

Their last meeting is still fresh in his mind

That little prankster blackmailed him with a smile on his face

He still remembers how he had to explain to his wife why he had withdrawn a full million coins

But he had to use some excuses to avoid telling the truth

He couldn't simply tell her that he had been blackmailed by their daughter's ex-fiancé

“I'll go try to convince him...” David Medgar raised his hand

Everyone's eyes lit up when David came forward, The relationship between the Ford and Midgar families was at its best

George frowned for a moment. He knew that there were some problems that had occurred between Medgar family and Alexander

Will everything be okay?...George pushed those thoughts out of his mind

They had no other options

Alexander did not have many friends or people who could be considered close to him at all

So they have no choice but to rely on David

"We'll be counting on you, David."

“I will try everything I can.” David replied calmly

“But this is strange…” A man wearing a black robe spoke

The man had dark purple hair, eyes as black as a starless night sky, and a handsome face

George raised an eyebrow. "What's so strange about this, Alan?"

Alan was resting his back on the chair, his eyes directed towards the ceiling of the hall

Alan smiled wryly. “The strange thing is that you didn't consider the possibility that that boy is not an innocent person.”

The air in the hall froze

“What do you mean…” Theodore raised his head and looked at Alan with intense eyes

Alan did not care much about these looks and continued talking. “Why did someone with a high position in the Bloody Crescent organization teach Alexander this strange recipe?”

No one answered

Alan snorted. “This is most likely because he was able to lure Alexander into joining the Bloody Crescent.”

Baaam!

Theodore rose from his seat and said angrily. “It is better to be careful who you accuse.”

Alan looked at Theodore sarcastically. “Are you pretending to be a caring father now? Don’t you think it’s a little too late? Alexander may have stepped into the zone of no return.”

"Enough..." George intervened forcefully to end this conversation

If this continues these two will clash and cause a lot of chaos

Alan shook his head and got up to leave the meeting room. "It was just a possibility, there's no need to take it seriously."

Even when Alan left the room, the atmosphere in the room was still thick

The seeds of doubt were already planted within them

They thought about this possibility for a moment, but none of them dared to bring it up because they themselves were not convinced of it

Alexander was acting normal, in addition to living a perfect life as a member of the Ford family. Why would he collude with such an evil organization and ruin his life with his own hands?

But Alan's words made seeds of doubt grow within them

What if the Bloody Crescent Organization could lure Alexander

The lure of power was irresistible to many

“Let's end the meeting...” George felt that they could not continue the meeting with this situation
