“Look over there; John’s fighting someone." Rachel said, “He seems to be fine from the looks of it.”
"Rachel, look out; I heard a fire blast from behind.” Ryan shouted before exploding the fireball and forcing a small barrier to form.
“Hold on, Ryan; let me see if I can land.” Rachel said this before crashing into the side of the cave.
The pair managed to land with broken appendages. Ryan’s left leg was shattered. His right upper ribs had hairline fractures. He could feel that his left lung had collapsed. Rachel was unconscious and in her demon form. Black blood was drying around her head. Her legs sat at odd angles. Her wings had been badly torn and broken. Ryan took a home-made potion made from a fungal-covered earth and sold it in the library. His broken body was healing, and his blood was flowing back into his veins. He rolled over and felt his legs heal, his bones snapping back into place. Torn muscles stitched themselves together. His lungs inflated themselves, and bruises were healed. He took a massive involuntary breath, and pain ran down his fresh lungs and esophagus. He took another potion and tipped it toward Rachel’s lips.
“It hurts like a bitch, but you will feel like new.” Ryan said, “Just rest; I’ll take care of everything.”
“Goddamn it.” Rachel shouted, “You weren’t lying.”
Ryan took his left hand and opened his left-side robe. He placed his right hand in and pulled out a three-inch piece of wood. The top had an aquamarine stone. He let go of his robe, crushed the small staff, chanted a spell, and opened his hands. The small staff had now begun to grow. He opened his hands to the span of six feet and grabbed the now-enlarged staff. The runes that had been etched into the wood were glowing with a purple hue. Ryan’s eyes had the same purple hue. He looked around the cavern and saw an enormous arm. The gray tentacled skin arm was touching the massive amphitheater cave. The golden surface of the door was glinting from the fire that lit all around the huge stone structure. The pyrite was giving Ryan an idea; it was one he hoped worked. With his staff, he outstretched his hand and staff. Angling the crystal, he began to chant a spell.
“Crixfnuvivmxv= 32.5 nvgvih, Im gsv urihg hgvk, hfoufi rh yfimvw gl kilwfxv hfoufi wrlcrwv: s + o2 → so2 (−297 pj/nlo)” Ryan said, chanting and calculating, “Tsv hfoufi wrlcrwv gsvm lcrwravw gl hfoufi girlcrwv fhrmt lcbtvm drgs ezmzwrfn(v) lcrwv zh xzgzobhg: 2 so2 + o2 ⇌ 2 so3 (−198 pj/nlo): tsv hfoufi girlcrwv rh sbwizgvw rmgl hfoufirx zxrw h2so4: so3 + h2o → h2so4(t) (−101 pj/nlo)”
A giant Enochian circle began to form; the huge purple circle was like a tattoo forming on the Elder God's arm. The arm was towering in the air. The walls around the chamber began to glow purple. The metal then turned red, then hot orange. The water then boiled, and the chemical reaction began. The fumes rose in a yellow haze. Bugs started to fall from the ceiling of the rocky enclosure. Ryan noticed the fumes and chanted a prayer.
“Tsv xvnvmg szw wirvw dsvm sv nlevw rg. Bzro gsv ylzg, gl hglk rg uiln hrmprmt.” Ryan said, "John, if you’re still down there, hang on.”
John was floating above the ground, and the massive door was glowing orange. reacting to the water surrounding the door and land. The island made of pyrite was causing a reaction with the sulfuric acid. The possessed body was having a hard time breathing. He tossed the useless body of the female, and with a flick of his wrist, the body went sailing into the water. Making a loud splash, water splashed onto the island and began to react to the metal. Noticing this, he looked up and saw that the arm was glowing with a purple tattoo.
"John, hang on.” A voice came from above.
A purple barrier was now visible around him. The barrier hummed as it lifted John into the sky. The small island started to melt and break apart. The doors opened as the acid began to eat through the enormous appendage. A loud, monstrous scream echoed from the gap between the doors. The noise was so intense that it left someone unable to breathe or move. The barrier helped muffle the audible sound. The stone walls and ceiling let in three-foot stone holders. The splash caused a miniature wave. The enormous wave flooded the rest of the bottom floor. The acid bath that was now filling the room was making its way up to where Ryan and Rachel had been. The hot fumes could be seen drifting up. Ryan let out a heavy sigh. He quickly ran to Rachel and checked her vitals. She was breathing and looked stable enough to move. The potion did its trick in healing her. Her eyes opened, and she let out a large cough.
“Holy shit, what hit me?” Rachel said, “Are we still in the cave?”
"Well, it was a fireball from a very tall enemy.” Ryan answered her, “And the second question, yes, we are, and it’s currently filling up with acid.”
“So, out of the pan and into the oven.” Rachel said to Ryan, “And John, I saw him. Is he okay?”
“Yes, he is floating in a barrier to use.” Ryan said, “I’m hoping the acid filling this cave is enough to seal the titan back from where he came from.”
A purple light was glowing from the edge, and a few minutes later, a six-foot orb with John’s body inside was visible. Ryan helped Rachel to her legs, and she stood up, resting on Ryan. John floated in the purple sphere and landed five feet close to them.
“John, I thought I’d never see you again.” Ryan shouted, “We saw you die when me and Rachel were trapped in the book.”
“Oh, dear me.” Azathoth said in John’s voice, "Well, now that you’re out, I guess we should go back home.”
“I also don’t blame you for my sister’s death.” Rachel said in a remorseful tone, “I just wish I had been the one to kill her.”
"Well, maybe something can be arranged.” John said it in a double voice.
With a flick of John’s eyes, Rachel went flying to the wall. Ryan quickly said a prayer. The spell caught Rachel with an invisible cushion before she hit the rocky exterior. Ryan looked back at John and held his staff in an attack pose.
“John, what the hell are you doing?” Ryan shouted at him, “It’s Rachel; she’s my fiancé.”

“Agh, what a joke.” The voice now took a wicked tone: “Why would a demon ever be with a mortal?”
"John, you take that back right now; I’m giving you one last chance.” Ryan said it furiously.
"Well, I guess I know what your weakness is.” John said it with a large smile.
Ryan held his staff and pointed the crystal tip at John. Ryan then magically pulled ten Enochian circles out of thin air. The ten purple circles appeared in a straight line. Fireballs began shooting out of the circles and finding their target. A large black smoke billowed and filled the roof of the cavern. The smoke was drifting with a current and finding small openings. The smoke was thinning out, and a silhouette was emerging. The male figure was standing with his arms crossed and a hand holding his chin.
"Well, not bad, boy, but you still have a lot to learn.” John said, laughing, “Well, I guess I have had enough; I’m leaving.”
John held a hand to the ceiling of the cave. He held his mana, and a small black energy ball emerged. Light was bending around the small ball. John let the small sphere float to the top of the rocky interior. The ball floated slowly to the roof, and light was distorted around the rhetorical edges. Once the ball reached the small tip of a rock that was poking through, an immense, bright light erupted once contact was made. Ryan and Rachel covered their eyes. John used the bright light to escape through the now exposed ceiling. The large hole was around forty feet in diameter. The fumes that had been building up on the ceiling were now wafting away through the now-red sky. The stars had disappeared, and the beautiful blue sky was shifting between red and blue. The final sky was chosen in a dark reddish shade. The stars had disappeared, and the enormous arm was still wiggling in the air. The enormous doors had melted and fused together. The acid had chewed through a quarter. Ryan ran to Rachel’s side one more time and put a barrier around themselves. With the barrier in place, acid began to spill over the side of the ledge they had been on. The acid melted the top surface of the rocks and made them dirty. The liquid substance was so fluid that the ledge was already covered and spilling over the rocky ledge. The barrier lifted up into the sky and out of the opening.
The sky shifted from red to green then rippled like a wave. The clouds had dissipated into nothingness. Ryan and Rachel wondered in amazement. The jungle had gone quiet. Ryan looked around the sky for any sign of John. He saw nothing, but the empty sky. The scariest part struck him when he didn’t see any stars in the skies. Rachel looked up in horror. She used Ryan’s shoulder to hide the truth. His plant had been transported to another location. He looked at Rachel and got her to stay calm. He sat on the ground crossed leg and concentrated on the library. The sensed its presence but it felt faint. He summoned a dimensional door to the earth side library. The Mahogany door appeared atom by atom. He opened his eyes and grabbed his staff. The wooden weapon was beginning to lose its leaves and flower petals. His mana was starting to fall from its peak. The door opened and they stepped through. The interior of the library had the statue that Ryan saw when he first arrived here it was panic was struck across its face. Ryan saw that the place was dull, almost like the color scheme was turned down. Sound was dampened to a low quality. It was audible, but just too much bass. Just turned down low. Ryan saw that the semi tall cherry bookshelves had been broken and books lay scattered across the floor. And again the library had a sick sense of humor. The speakers had been playing Ava Maria on repeat.
A female human stood behind the desk, she wore her hair in a bun. The red locks had come untangling, and two strands on the let, and one on the right swayed in the air. Blue eyes with a hint of hazel was staring at Ryan. Glasses hung on straps hanging around her neck. They hit her I’d badge that she wore for job.
“Ryan, Rebecca mentioned that you might drop in.” Ruth said with a laugh, “I swear she knows exactly what is going to happen to her library before it happens.”
“Yea I tried asking her about it once.” Ryan said.
“What happened?” Ruth and Rachel said in unison.
“She said and I quote, quit asking questions that you don’t need the answers to.” Ryan said in he’s best Rebecca impression, “Now get back to work and organize the shelves.”
“Huh, is anyone getting a feeling.” Ruth said.
“No not really.” Rachel said as she looked around, “Why do you feel something.”
“Well it’s weird, but it feels like we are cut off from all reality.” Ruth said in a flat tone.
“Thats impossible, tell her Ryan.” Rachel asked Ryan, “Tell her that something could never break the physical connection with its mother.”
“Well I would like to, but John told something once.” Ryan said while in deep thought, “He said that he once worked for. Powerful being.”
Ryan ran through the artifact room. He slammed his body through the double door. One of the hinges broke from the sheer force. The left side door crashed to the tile ground. Cracks spidered through the artwork of the tile. Ryan looked through Albert’s desk trying to look for the artifact list. The three inch binder book was filled with this earth’s special treasures. Looking in the bottom desk drawer he riffled through the loose papers. Finding the book hiding underneath almost everything he pulled the thick book out. Ryan flipped to the section where Atlantean artifacts were found. He skipped through the correct section and found the picture. The image had a statue of an obsidian glass cat. The black glass was detailed in a fluffy cat. A detailed patch that went down through the cat’s right eye then diagonally right. Giving the cat a half mask. The cat was currently lying down in a playful position.
“I found it. Ruth can you currently summon any artifacts?” Ryan asked holding the picture to her.
“Well, not exactly the one time I did I lost the priceless piece.” Ruth admitted, “But I have done it in a training exercise multiple times.”
“Well that’s good maybe I can help you.” Ryan said, “Rebecca taught me how the process worked one night when I had to go through a ton of new inventory.”
“Oh really, and do tell me honey. When were you going to tell me this?” Rachel said with a demonic death stare.
“Well, it was the night that you came in and my hands were all over her.” Ryan said sarcastically.
He stared deep in Rachel’s eyes, he leaned forward and kissed her. Rachel kissed him back and Ruth let out an audible sigh. The pair laughed and wiped their lips.
“Ruth let’s go to the station and we’ll summon the cat.” Ryan said.
Ruth and Ryan both walked from the desk to the summoning station. The four and a half foot steampunk table was whistling with steam. The middle had a large green emerald. Steam gauges displayed around the circular object. Steam was ejected from a vent on the side. The gas pressure was hot enough to scorch the surface of human flesh. The hot air was vented into the chill air. Ryan and Ruth walked to the laptop size monitor and type in the name of the artifact, what earth it was from, and what country it came from. The screen changed to a loading bar. The black screen with green text made it look like it had come from the nineteen eighty’s. Ruth stood at the input station and punched in the correct sequence. The image of the cat statue popped up. Information about the artifact and what it could do was displayed in small texts. Below the name a small Earth was rotating around. Below an arrow pointing at the Earth going to the right with letters saying Earth Axon.
“Well there it is, it says it’s charging.” Ryan shouted over the loud noise coming from the table.
“Just wait, they told me that it’s currently summoning the object.” Ruth shouted back, “It’s almost like a transporter, but with magic.”
“Well just as long as we get back to the Mountain.” Ryan said, “I have to cast the spell close to the arm.”
“Let me guess you need someone to keep your back from being attacked don’t you.” Rachel said, “I’m ready I think fighting that arm is going to do some good.”
“Hey keep calm, there shouldn’t be anything near the site.” Ryan explained, “I cast a high level disguise spell. And the aura from that arm well keep anyone or anything from getting to close.”
“What about us?” Ruth asked.
“You are going to stay here and.” Ryan said as he cast a spell and broke the statue in half, “Don’t worry it’s part of the spell. Just keep this and go directly to the center of the library, this I’ll take bake with us.”
“Ryan what exactly is going on?” Ruth said finally.
“For the first time the apocalypse.”Ryan said Bluntly, “Azothoth summoned an Elder God, I cast a spell on the fools gold that was lined throughout the cave. And turned it into sulfuric acid.”
“But why acid, why not try to use anything else.” Rachel asked.
“Because the pool of water in the middle surrounded by pyrite, a substance that is perfect for this.” Ryan said proudly, “Let’s go we need to get back and get earth back to the multiverse. We are currently traveling to there universe.”
Ryan’s those words hang in the air then went to the statue. He patted the marble artwork and the statue was motionless. Ryan hung his head and went to the door he relaxed his body and clears his mind. The door opened back into the jungle, but this time they were on the opposite side of the giant arm. The mountain had a cave and he looked back to Rachel.
“Ok this is it, we may not come back from this.” Ryan admitted, “If I don’t do this correctly earth will be torn apart by the elder ones.”
“I’m ready for this.” Rachel said looking into Ryan’s eyes, “Oh by the way I’m pregnant.”
Ryan was caught off guard and Rachel ran through the door. Ryan gained composure and ran through the door as well. Ruth looked over to the statue and placed a hand on him. The marble face grinned slightly and stopped. She smiled and ran to the center of the now dying building. Books falling echoed through the rooms. Art work fell from the failing lights, they shattered on the tile floors. Pieces scattered across the beautiful artwork of Orisorin the first wizard. The masterpiece was laid by Ryan after finding out about the mysterious world he found himself living now. Ruth was running to the center of the building. The art piece was a landscape on the floor and indention was visible. She placed the broken glass in the indention and waited.
