“You remember seeing this activist die in a hospital, but what if I told you that he died in a bath tub?” The narrator went on, “That is known as the Leonardo effect.”
The male voice went on the computer screen. He had blond hair in a military cut. The background was cheaply made, and the clipping was noticeable. The monitor was displayed in an underground nerd-core hacker group. Monitors had been arranged on a four-foot circular table. Each monitor had a picture and satellite images showing a huge tentacle arm. A massive hole filled with a liquid substance was present. In one picture, you see flesh and exposed muscle. In another, it was stone with moss and dirt covering the stone skin. In several different pictures, there were figures in shadowy robes, but they disappeared before they could get a better look. One photo had a picture of the sky and how it changed color. The next day, the blue sky was back, and the stars seemed to be missing.
“I’m telling you, folks, they have turned on the machine again.” The male went on, “We have jumped to a new reality.”
“Ugh. Come on, is this guy for real?” A blonde girl said, “Come on, Heather, let’s get out of here.”
“Hold on, is that my house?” Heather said, “Why is my house?”
On the monitor, her house was a white, two-story colonial. The blue window flaps have been permanently pinned to the brick wall. The chimney was collapsing, and a huge purple lighting storm struck the rest of the house. The trees in the back had grown to be twenty feet tall. They spiraled down to the ground. The large pine trees had been very green in vegetation. The intense heat from the flames enveloped the roof of the house. The second floor was in imminent danger of collapsing. Screams of horror echoed through the building, then silence. Heather collapsed on her knees, holding the table with her monitor.
From the corner of the room, a tall man dressed in fine silk was watching the monitors. The man was laughing inside with a wicked smirk. The Wizard High Council sent a group of wizards that had completely collapsed the gateway from earth to Cthulhu. The large arm has been burned through with acid. The wizards helped further the progress with a time pocket. The dome was made from magical light that the Wizards had erected to keep the progression going; the large arm was loped off, and the hole was quickly covered with the debris that had rained all around the area.
“Well, if it isn’t the library strike team,” John said from the corner to himself. “How utterly annoying, but at least I know that the seals on the portals are now gone.”
John kept walking to the main office of the building. He walked up to the thick, bulletproof metal door. The door was on a large wall that took several minutes to open. John held his right hand out, and a camera sprang into life. The small black GoPro was actively wiping this way and that. The dark corridor was filled with old boxes and wooden creations. The lights flickered on and off.
“Hello, excuse me, but you’re unauthorized to be here.” The voice sounded from a speaker in the corner: “You’ll need to leave this area, sir, or I will have you forcefully removed.”
“Hahaha, oh, this is going to be fun.” John said.
He used his right hand to force a surge of magic into the metal door. The heavy, thick steel door was forced from its spot and tossed to the right side. A crashing noise was audible, and the patrons just looked and left. In the room on the left side, monitors are stacked on one another. A row of twelve wide flat screens. They towered about three monitors high. They all had some form of news. A man with black shoulder hair, square glasses, and a black t-shirt with written on it. His black baggy pants had fry pins, and his bare feet could be seen wearing Hello Feline slippers.
“Who are you? What did you do to my door?” Said the hacker, “You're going to regret this.”
“Shut up, you lazy boy.” John said with a furious laugh, “Now you want to know what happened in South America?”
"Wait, you know what happened there?” The hacker said it in a sort of scary voice.
“There? I was the one who caused the huge explosion.” John said he was walking into the room.
John looked around the small bedroom/monitoring station. The place smelled like ammonia and leftover pizza. Yellow stains with flies buzzing around. Family pictures had been placed on a piano that had seen better days. The stacks of computer books that you could never find in a public library fell over. The books were scattered across the rugged floor. John took a handkerchief and used it to pull back on a book that was sitting on the only book shelf. The book was old and red with gold lettering. The language was an unknown language on this earth. The hardcover lit up in a bright, dark red light. This caused the entire wall to glow in a dark red light and split down the middle. The wall opened up to a pocket universe. Creatures that could not be described looked at the young man, who was now screaming for his life. His heart had quickly elevated, and his eye sight began to double. He eventually had a heart attack, and a large clawed hand with the palm size of a dresser slowly grabbed the body and pulled it back into the darkness.
“How amusing that he lasted that long.” John’s voice broke into a double tone: "Ryan, we’ll find us.”
"Yes, your apprentice; I can’t wait to see him again.” Azathoth's voice came out: “And his little demon toy, just like your wife, was delicious.”

“You bastard, I will have my revenge for her.” John’s voice was barely audible. Azahoth’s voice was just louder: “She was my world, and you stripped it from me.”
John took control of his left arm and quickly grabbed the pocket knife. The six-inch knife was next to the stack of books. Managing to open the knife with his hand, he stabbed his jugular. The artery started to spray black blood all over the floor and in the space. The knife fell to the floor with a crash.
"Well, John, that was a surprise.” Azathoth said in John’s voice, “Oh well, you had your chance; now let’s go to my realm. I’m sure you’ll see someone who hasn’t seen you in a while.”
Azathoth jumped into the portal, and the dark interior of the universe was thunderous with bat-like screeching. Azathoth went deeper into the darkness. The portal closed behind them, and the wall was now a wall. The book that had been used was lying in a pile of ash. The embers caught fire to the books on the shelf. More flames erupted from the older books and burned through the wooden shelf. The dark red oak was now a burned, black-charred log. The small shelf fell to the littered floor of papers. These flames quickly spread to the human waste that had piled up. The waste exploded from the built-up fumes trapped in layers of poop. The flaming poop landed on the cluttered piano and burned the room into a blackened office. The flames had spread into the mess hallway and were supposed to set off the alarms. Unfortunately, the water sprinklers had never been tested, so no water could put out the fire. The roaring, raging flames started to spread into the display area. The monitors began to break, and plastic melted into each other. Black, toxic smoke rose from the plastic and electronics throughout the place. People started to faint and fall to the ground. The survivors would leave five people to die. The building burned down, with fire trucks screaming into the scene. The firefighters took care of the fire and secured the scene. When the blaze was extinguished, the fire marshals inspected the building to see what was left. In the inspection, they found an unburned book.
“Hey Samuel, look, I got a survivor.” Hank said, holding up the book Azathoth used to travel in.
“Oh wow, nice; that’s a one in a million chance.” Said Samuel, “Have you seen what started the fire, Hank?”
“No, it just looks like this person was hustling a slob.” Hank replied, “I think it’s pretty clear what happened.”
A purple haze was creeping along the ground. The two firefighters who hadn’t noticed the smoke started to fall down. They lay there unconscious; the smoke had spread throughout the industrial area. People who had stopped by to see what had happened fell. Soon panic began running around, but cries fell on deaf ears. The whole area was now under a magical spell. Six wizards dressed in white robes and having the libraries seal the owl clutching a scroll in his right clawed foot. While perched on a hardcover Grimoire. The marching staff had their own stones that complemented their magical abilities. Most of the wizards had come from alternate worlds. There are three males and three females. Two females looked more like aquatic humans. The three males all came from the same earth. They looked like half-men dressed in dog suits. Each one had the same pattern. Black fur with brown stripes like a zebra. The little wizard dogs took the chewed white oak staffs and cast an Enochian time spell. The area was illuminated with a glittering brown circle. The design was that of the planetary system; each plant was the size of a mandarin orange. The image moved, and a dome was erected. A small circle with blue script written around it was creating the dome.
“We have set the enchantment.” Fax said, “We only have one hour to see what John wants with this place.”
“That’s not John!” Naina angrily said, “I know John wouldn’t do anything like that.”
"Sure, you would back a murder like that.” Wolla said rudely, “No one thinks he is innocent.”
“You two quit down.” Callie said, “I’m in command, so keep any comments to yourself.”
“Yes ma’am.” They all said it in unison.
"Fax, go ahead and let us see what happened.” Callie said.
“Yes ma’am.” Fax said, “Os glwwvhh gzrz kovzhv tizmg nv gsv xszmxv gl gfim yzxp grnv uli gsv mvcg gdvmgb ulfi slfih.”
The circle lit up, and the small planetary system spun in a reverse orbit. Wolla and Naina felt their stomachs do somersaults. This made them turn green, and everyone laughed at them. Even Callie let out a little chuckle.
The damaged and ruined building began to smoke, and water from firehoses flowed in a reverse motion. The small embers that glowed in an orange hue erupted into small flames. The sirens from firetrucks grew from blood screaming and screeching to a more distant sound. The building’s structure ranged from a raging fire to a creeping, slow burn to nothing at all. They stopped the loop and saw John Dee come into the room. Walk to the small book shelf that was slotted into the wall. He looked for a certain book and pulled on it. The book fell back in place, then illuminated the wall. This opened a portal into another Earth that they had no idea about. They saw nightmares and horrors. The look on the young man’s face, who had tried to push himself into the wall, He looked at them, and within seconds, his life was cut short.
“You see, he just killed another person.” Wolla said, “This is all the proof we need.”
Just then, John took a pocket knife from a stack of books and stabbed his own neck. The young wizards looked in horror. Wolla turned her head and vomited her lunch. They looked up and saw that John’s voice had changed tone.
“How amusing that he lasted that long.” John’s voice broke into a double tone: "Ryan, we’ll find us.”
"Yes, your apprentice; I can’t wait to see him again.” Azathoth's voice came out: “And his little demon toy, just like your wife, was delicious.”
The time spell stopped spinning, and then they were back in their current time.
Everyone looked at each other, wondering what had happened. Callie just stood there, pale-faced. Her eyes were focused on something that wasn’t there. Fear ran across her face as she fell to the floor. Her eyes were still fixed in horror. With her right hand, she quickly reached into her right leg pocket. An orange pocket knife with a Swiss flag on it was fashioned into existence. With the swiftness of the gods, she gouged out her eyes. Two eye balls with nerve endings bounced on the ground. Blood landed around the landing ground. Everyone immediately turned in her direction and gasped in horror. Two dogs grabbed her before she could do any harm. Wolla held her staff out, and the crystal glowed.
“Rest.” Wolla said, “Let the healing process begin.”
The green emerald glowed green, and her green eyes matched her aquatic body. Her slender form was jelly-like and transparent, like a jellyfish. Her humanoid form could shift from one form to another. Her wizard robes only covered her most erotic features in a bikini-type fashion. Both she and Naina looked like twins. Her aquatic form sprang into action and let out a gentle light. The green light healed the bleeding capillaries and helped with the swelling. She fainted into the arms of the men. Wolla turned to everyone, expressing her concern.
"Naina, get us all out of here.” Wolla said, “Fax, tell the others what happened.”
“Ok, everyone, hold on.” Naina shouted, "Fax, keep the circle up; I’ll use it to teleport us back to the library.”
“Sure, but I don’t know how much more my mana can last.” Fax grunted.
Naian, who looked similar to her twin sister, used her hands to change the configuration of the circle. The circle glowed, lighting up the burned building. Then, in an instant, they had disappeared, and a loud, thundering explosion echoed through the industrial area. Time seemed to slowly return to normal. The two firefighters woke up in a daze. One was rubbing his head, looking at his fellow man.
“Hey, did you smell anything?” Hank said groggily, “My head hurts like it’s about to explode.”
“We need to tell Central to cordon off the area.” Samual said, “Let’s get out of here.”
“I’m right behind you.” Said Hank, “Just let me grab this book.”
Hank, who was six feet eight inches tall, had blond hair. He had on his yellow fire helmet, the numbers on them reading 42. His fire suit was black with bright yellow stripes on it. He stood up and bent over to pick up the unburned book. The book reacted to his touch. Then she calmed down. He picked the book up and flipped through the pages. See nothing more? He placed the book in his pocket. He looked around the place to find anything else but could see nothing. He turned to face his friend and walked into the darkness. Crunching noises hung in the air as he ran through the small debris.
