The Street Wizard
Chapter Eighteen

Chapter Eighteen

“Have you found what happened to John’s place?” A low grumble from Alex, an elder wizard: “Have you found who did this atrocious act?”

Alex stood next to a window that overlooked the main library. The office looked like something from a New York office. Alex stood six feet tall with white robes and gold stitching. His golden hair was braided with aquamarine stones that gleamed with magic. The braided hair was past his midback. He held both hands behind him, and the immaculate office looked more like a medical operating room. Medical instruments were laid on a metal table that had green medical towels on it. A human body was laid on an autopsy table. A microscope was hovering over my head. The metal Nineteen Fifty mic is currently turned off. A light glow was overhead, shining down on Faith’s body. Her legs and arms had been torn off, and her torso was mangled. Her face was in mid-change from human to demon.

“We do have a lead on where Ryan is.” Scarlett said, “He and Rachel are said to be in Germany.”

“Germany? Why there?” Alex asked, “Why go there?”

“Some have heard that they have gone there to train with some werewolves.” Scarlett responded by flipping through a clipboard of paper.

"Well, I guess that’s not all bad.” Alex said, “Follow me; I have to go see the director.”

“Are you sure, sir?” Scarlett asked.

“Don’t worry, you; we’ll wait outside. If anything, why don’t you go and find out if you can bring Ryan and Rachel?”

"Yes, sir, that I can do.” Scarlett let out.

She turned around and walked out of the medical office. Alex took a look one last time and walked out of the room. The doors closed behind him as he walked down the hall to the director's office. The long, standing hallway was decorated with many different paintings of old directors. Plants from different worlds were showing up in window-sized ecosystems. Some had jungles with rain; others had desert settings. Alex saw his Earth's ecosystem and was amazed by its accuracy. He looked at large oak doors standing fifteen feet tall. Each door had been engraved with a battle that took place before the foundation of the library. The left door had large nightmarish creatures that continued to shift in many shapes. In the right was the first wizard unknown to the world. Behind him, there are many creatures and species from different earths. They all stood behind the powerful wizard. Above their heads, many spherical celestial bodies spiraling through the sky were seen. The massive doors opened, and Alex walked through them.

“So tell me, what’s the update on John?” Sara said this from behind a black leather chair.

“Well, you see, John had disappeared.” Alex said, “We are unable to track him. We think he might be working with whoever ever took him.”

“Are you sure? I’ve known John for over fifteen hundred years.” Sara said, turning around the leather chair.

Her robes were the same white as Alex, with the exception that hers didn’t have gold; they were just white. She was currently going over the library's current backlog of artifacts. A pen was in her left hand. Her right hand was adjusting her glasses. Her gray hair was pulled back into a bun. Grey eyes had the cold, piercing star that could shatter anyone’s psyche. Her dark, stained office desk was filled with scrolls and old papers. Books had been stacked to the right of her. The big office was enough to fit two White House’s. There was a waterfall below her desk. Her desk was elevated six feet from the floor, and a spiral staircase came down to the front of the water spectacle. Book shelves made from elven trees sprouted from the fertile soil that was surrounded by boulders. They helped keep the soil from spilling onto the intricate tiles. The library crest was imprinted on the green tile.

"Yes, madam, we’ve tried several times to locate him.” Alex said, “Only he knows how to block any attempt to be tracked.”

"Well, he did design the spell to track any wizard in trouble.” Sara said, “But it does seem to stand that he doesn’t want to be found yet.”

“That may be, but what about the girl who was dismembered in his house?” Alex asked, “Do you want us to preserve her body until we can find her sister?”

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Yes, that would be wise.” Sara said, “I’ll locate any next of kin.”

“I have also asked Ryan to come and tell his side of the story.” Alex said.

“Yes, I would like to talk to him as well.” Sara said, “Isn’t he the current owner of the book?”

“I believe so, ma’am.” He replied.

"Mmm, interesting; just let me know when he arrives.” Sara said, “Your excused Alex, that is all.”

He bowed his head and stepped back, then rotated one hundred and eighty degrees, then walked out. The massive doors opened and closed. The audible noise echoed down the hall. Alex walked down the hall and went to the center desk. Two female receptionists sat at their desks, helping new students and teaching them how the catalog system works. The new students were around college age. Fresh new apprentice graduates. They had just begun their new journey into their wizarding lives.

“Now if you all look up for a moment, everything regarding hardcover books, from grimoire to fiction books from alternative earths, will be cataloged through Earth ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha.” The young librarian said, “We are very proud of our catalog system that the main branch has decided to adopt it.”

Alex stopped just short of the desks and stood there until they had finished entering their information through the computers. Once they had entered their information, a library card materialized in thin air. Once they finished, the older librarian took the kids on their first tour throughout the library. The younger librarian stayed to help the next person in line.

“Next please.” Rebecca said, “Oh my gosh, Assistant Director Alex, it’s nice to see you here. How can I help you?”

"Ah, you must be Rebecca; you and Ryan come from the same earth, so you not?” Alex asked, “It is nice to meet you. I was wondering when you are free. Could you come to my office for a second? I have some questions to ask you.”

"Ummm, yes, sir. Am I in some sort of trouble?” Rebecca asked.

“Oh no, nothing like that. I just need some more information on Ryan.” Alex said, “He is currently absent, and I would like to chat with him.”

“Oh, well, I haven’t really heard from him for the past three months.” Rebecca admitted.

“That’s fine I’ll try and catch him when he comes in next.” Alex said.

He turned and walked toward the outside. The front of the library looked just as huge. The tall glass doors looked like they belonged on a skyscraper. Standing twenty feet tall, the stained glass windows had the first known wizard standing and holding his black oak staff. On the right side of the door, there stood Merlin, a much younger man. Merlin was holding the same black oak staff. Alex walked to the glass doors and pushed them open. The large hinges swung open with ease; they slowed and stopped. The pink and purple maelstrom of space was now visible to the patrons of the library. Every magic caster stopped what they were doing and looked at the magical spectacle that was about to happen. Alex pulled his silver metal staff from a dimensional space. He aimed the magical weapon at the incoming onslaught of nightmarish monsters that were about to attack. The creature had purple skin that oozed lime-green slime. Their sharp teeth could easily crush any diamond on earth. Red, piercing eyes that whipped around searching for a meal. Dozens of tentacles fought over each other, trying to reach the front.

“Tsivv gl gsv hvxlmw kldvi, nztmvgrx urvow ivhlmzmxv.” Alex said in an Enochian, “Ufvo + lcbtvm —> xziylm wrlcrwv + dzgvi.”

His staff began to pulse with the color of the hot white star that hung just above them. An invisible barrier was erected and pushed back the nightmarish Cretans. Once they had been stopped, bright Enochian circles began shining a beautiful red light. Each circle targeted a single creature, and then five-foot-diameter fireballs were continuously fired from each circle. The first bald hit their targets and exploded their blackened, charred skin. Chunks flew everywhere, and their bodies fell into the gravitational pull of a now-rising blue star. The magical barrier that kept the harsh radiation from touching the library and its patrons was now glowing like the aurora borealis. The spectacular view was now a brilliant light show. The gleaming space of the multiverse was filled with things that only wizards could dream about. Each earth was spinning around a yellow sun. Small vain tentacles came from each earth, making connections with other worlds and eventually connecting to the main library.

Alex let the wonderful sight last a few minutes and walked in, and with a tap of the staff, the doors closed.

“Well, it looks like you have been working on your spell casting.” Rebecca said, walking up to him, “How many times a day can you cast that spell?”

"Well, as of today, I would say I can cast it one more time.” Alex said, “So three times. And as of three minutes ago, I am officially off the clock.”

"Well, I am glad you helped with the consequences of our master’s master.” Rebecca replied, “He and Merlin were unable to finish their work.”

"Well, that’s why I am off.” Alex said, I think I might be able to find a way to our situation, our masters, and our current situation.”

“Mmm, well then, by all means, you know the rules of an expedition.” Rebecca jested, “I expect you proved me with all receipts and expenses.”

The both of them laughed and walked back to her office. Outside the door, a small tentacle was flopping on the grounds of the sanctuary building. The library was set on an island-sized piece of dirt. The grass was always green, and trees had sprouted from the ground. Two rives surrounded the building. The small island is exactly placed in the middle of the cubed multiverse. The skies of the island were filled with multiple earths in their own spheres. Instead of the black emptiness of space, there is a pink, purple space with small celestial bodies gravitating around this island. The blue giant was rotating around the island like a moon. The magical dome that kept the harsh radiation from reaching them was used to power and feed the creatures that had kept the multiverse from vibrating into one another. Six massive tentacles touched the invisible cube. Small tentacles sprouted from the massive ones that were connected to them. These tentacles gave life to the universe’s. When an earth violently vibrated and split into two small tentacles, it shot from a massive one and attached itself to it. A small invisible field was created around the earth and cataloged. If the earth were left alone, it would keep violently shaking until it destroyed itself and the surrounding earth. When a multitude of celestial events occurred, the pantheon of nightmare gods was created. This was known as the cosmic threat.

The small tentacle was now wiggling and burrowing into the soft earth. The tentacle was burrowing deep into the ground. Stopping it curled itself into a ball and slime secreted from its body. They shot the walls of the earth and hardened. The skin began to harden and glow with a deep Dark purple glow. The ball was now entering a cocoon phase. The ball was slowly growing a millimeter every six hours.
