CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE: Kills

~~~~~Rox's Perspective ~~~~~
Back on Earth, I read a certain novel and in it, a certain dragon who doesn't need to eat to survive but loves snacks made a deal with a demon. The deal was that in exchange for information, the demon would give his share of a snack to the dragon.
When I realized something similar must have happened between my two subordinates, I couldn't help but laugh.
"Thank You, Master." Juba thanked me after I said I'd give her an additional serving every now and then.
Frankly, I don't really know how I should manage her feeding. In the wild, according to my knowledge, cheetahs after catching their Prey eat until they are satisfied and leave the rest behind. After the meal, they would not eat for two to three days.
As a Holumni, I eat multiple times a day and I'm guessing it's the same for the Xerxi. We can not eat in front of her without letting her have some too.
Because of that, I chose to limit the amount of food she is served in the future but, she doesn't understand. I don't want to veto it too.
Well, for now, I've decided I will watch her for a while and see what she will do.
"Stand up Au. There is no need for you to ask for forgiveness.". There's indeed no need for her to ask for forgiveness. What I am thinking about is the reason why they have yet to compliment me on my easy win. It wasn't a competition but...
"By the way, Master, congratulations on defeating the Skylord."
"Yes, My Lord. Congratulations. You were awesome. I've never seen anyone kill a Four Legged Eagle before and you did it in seconds while even armies failed to defeat them. Especially this one. I think it should be at least, level thirty.". This is what I wanted. I can now die in peace.
Just kidding, I am not ready to die any time soon.
After complimenting me, Au stood up, cleaned the dirt on her knees and said; "Thank you for being lenient with me, My Lord.". I didn't think I was lenient but I chose to not respond and helped her unto Juba's back.
"Juba, Do you know the Skylord?".
"Yes, My Lord. When I was younger, it captured one of my siblings in front of me."
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"What happened next?"
"Since my brother was struggling, it took him higher and higher into the sky and released him. From then on, I would always hide whenever I saw it.". Juba deliberately didn't say something or maybe, she didn't want to remember what happened after the eagle released her brother. I can guess what happened next so there is no need for me to force her to remember what she doesn't want to.
Come to think of it, I haven't been able to see anyone's titles without using appraisal. Is that just me or there is more to it? "Au, can you Instinctively tell someone's title?"
"No, My Lord. But I heard that some people can.". Oh, so not everyone can do so then?
We continued talking until we returned to the warren. During our conversation, I realised I have to be more in tune with my instincts before I can tell people's titles instinctively. Since Juba couldn't tell my hidden titles, I realised that it does not work with hidden titles. I can confidently say that appraisal is far better.
In no time, we reached the warren. I had no more space in my spacial rings so I had to rely on inferior storage rings.
I pulled a storage ring out of my spacial ring and put the dead rabbits in it.
A storage ring can not be put inside another storage ring. If that happens, both rings will react with each other and destroy each other. However, a storage ring can be put inside a spacial ring as long as there is nothing in the storage ring.
Since I just put something inside the storage ring, I can no longer put it back inside the spacial ring.
I also do not want to end up wearing so many rings at a time so I passed the storage ring to Au.
"Master, can I see the Skylord's carcass?". Juba asked right after I passed the storage ring to Au so I showed it to her and got some more praises. I think I'll let Juba have some of the eagle's meat later.
Then, I went and inspected the tree that the rabbit 'broke' with its [Tempest Kick]. The parts which came into contact with the attack were shredded.
I now know why my [Battle Instinct] skill warned me it was lethal. Slashing and piercing attacks can ignore some part of defence. Luckily, I avoided it altogether.
*******
I told Au and Juba that we should withdraw for now and we returned home. The reason I did so was that I wasn't having enough mana to build the walls I talked about and I didn't want to waste any more (MP) potions.
One more reason is that I want to improve my skills. I just have to make sure I don't overdo things.
I can either augment my skills using similar skills or I can use duplicate skills to level up my skills.
I can not copy the same skill twice from an individual but I can copy the same skill from as many different individuals as possible. When it comes to the rabbit's skills, I have a lot of them.
I think I can upgrade the [Gale] skill to the elite rarity (class). But doing so now may let me level up too fast.
After consulting with Ansah, I am sure that resting for a day after six level-ups would allow my body to adapt to my soul.
When we got home, I went into my tent and had a long conversation with Ansah.
In the end, I made her make for me a log of all the entities I have killed, all the abilities I have gained including their duplicates and all other important information that I may find useful.
After that, I went through my log and found out that I had killed more than a thousand entities.
Of course, most of them are useless and they barely got me any proper experience or abilities.
Putting the insignificant ones aside, I killed a Lesser Dragon which was at level fifty-three, A Lion at level forty-six, An Eagle at Level forty-four and a lot more.
I wasn't expecting to find dragons here so I was surprised when I saw that in my log. Since it was the only Lesser Dragon that I killed, it must have just been passing by and it unfortunately found itself in the line of fire.
It gave me two elite skills and some more advanced skills. The two elite skills are [Dragon Breath] and [Lesser Experience Breeder].
I will analyze them later.
The skills I got from the lion which I think is The Proud Lion of The South were similar to the ones I got from Juba except that it wasn't having [Hasten] as a skill but [Physical Reinforcement].
In all, I have killed one Lesser Dragon, fifty-three Lions, two hundred and thirty-two Rabbits, five Cheetahs, One hundred and three squirrels and a hell lot more.
After reading through the log, I couldn't help but say a few words to Ansah.
{What I can do is thank them for the experience and skills they gave me and pray for their souls. Hopefully, they wouldn't find themselves as collateral damage in their next life.}. I don't know if it was out of guilt or pity but that is what I felt like saying.
*So says The Nonchalant.*
{I am not nonchalant it was a mistake okay?}.
