CHAPTER THIRTY: A Rematch?

~~~~~Rox's P.O.V~~~~~
As we were moving forward, I realized the trees were thinning out and more and more grass-like plants were appearing in front of me. Then Juba said; "We are here, Master."
"We are?" I couldn't believe it because I didn't see any rabbits around or notice anything weird. Then I used [Sylvan Sense], a detection skill that I got from Lante which is quite potent in detecting what is going on around you especially when you are surrounded by plants. Using the skill, I could see the small and lower-level rabbits escaping into their burrows and nine very high-level rabbits coming our way. I immediately appraised them and all nine of them had the title [Warren Guardian].
Of the nine rabbits, one was level twenty-three, three were level twenty-five, two were level twenty-six, one was level twenty-eight, one was level thirty and the leader was level thirty-two.
The leader's stats are;
Name: ?????
Race: Gale Rabbit.
Level: 32.
Health Points(HP) = 70393.
Mana Points (MP) = 14638.
Strength (ST) = 7104.
Speed (S) = 3152.
Durability (D) = 3229.
Stamina (E) = 17652.
Skills: [Advanced Gale], [Advanced Rabbit Kick], [Advanced Rabbit Jump], [Advanced Prey Sense], [Intermediate Earth Hardening], [Intermediate Tempest Kick].
Resistances: [Basic Physical Attack Resistance], [Basic Pain Resistance].
Titles: [Warren Guardian], [The Kicker], [Warren Leader].
As I was looking at the rabbit leader's stats, I saw something that got me alarmed. Except for speed, every stat of its is far below me but, when it comes to speed it is six times faster than me. How can that be? And how am I going to keep up with its speed?
{Ansah, am I hallucinating or does it seem that that rabbit's base speed is higher than Juba's base speed}. For some reason, my brain has calculated the rabbit's base speed without me actively trying to do so.
*Indeed, Master, The base speed of gale rabbits is usually above that of cheetahs.*
{How come? I know what I am going to say is based on my knowledge from Earth but, cheetahs are far too fast compared to rabbits on Earth.}
*Although that is true, rabbits can accelerate faster than cheetahs and they can also change directions far faster than cheetahs. The speed stat takes into consideration acceleration too. You are slower than Juba but if you are running a very long distance, you will win because you have far more stamina and a higher stamina recovery in comparison.
Coming back to the rabbit and Juba, at the same level, although the rabbit can accelerate faster, Juba will catch up to it as long as they are running in a straight line. In this terrain, the rabbit is more likely to evade Juba.*
{Okay, so can I beat it?}
As long as you use your abilities properly, you can easily do so, Master. Ansah paused for a short while and continued; *Well, that's only true as long as it doesn't decide to run away.*
I thanked Ansah for the information and told Au and Juba to stand back. The rabbit leader pushed the grass that was concealing it aside using its legs and revealing itself.
Then it finally clicked. The difference between [Gale] and [Haste]. I initially thought [Gale] was inferior to [Haste] as [Gale] only propels you forward with wind and it doesn't actually increase how you move your limbs while [Haste] increases the speed at which you can move your limbs but [Gale] is the better skill for the rabbits.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
When I realized that I looked around at the trees and saw rabbit footprints on them. Sure enough, the rabbits jump around during their battles so [Haste] which increases body movement wouldn't help them as their speed wouldn't increase regardless of how fast they move their legs mid-air while the wind produced by [Gale] will still propel them forward mid-air. It may even let them move faster compared to when they are on the ground.
The Kicker didn't let me finish analyzing the situation before it jumped to kick me. Because of my [Thought Acceleration], I was able to see it coming at me slowly, but my body wasn't fast enough to block.
Thinking about it once more, I had so many ways to guard against it as long as I considered using magic or skills. I have many different barriers and Au's [Flame Burst] will also be able to incinerate it.
But... I decided to not guard against it. I wanted to see how much damage it can inflict on me. It has the title [Warren Guardian] which increases its stats by ten per cent when it is protecting its warren while I have the title rabbit hunter which makes the rabbits I hunt twenty per cent weaker in my presence but I turned it off.
It kicked me with both of its right legs and stepped on me with its left legs to jump away when it realized I was barely pushed back.
I barely felt its attack. It wasn't able to reduce my (HP) by even one per cent. In this multiverse, you can only change an entity's inertia with your attacks if your attack is above their durability. The entity can also use its mana to increase its inertia so unless the entity allows you to move it, you will have to overcome its inertia with brute.
After it landed, it jumped to one tree and then another and kept jumping to more and more trees to gain momentum. In no time it was moving more than ten times faster than me but I could still follow its movements because of the fact that she jumps in straight lines and there is a lot of distance between the trees around.
I gained [Advanced Rabbit Jump] and [Advanced Gale] when I was observing it.
I used the [Advanced Haste] skill which I got from Juba to boost my speed by sixty percent. To keep up with it.
Then it jumped in my direction. I could predict its direction even without using [Movement Prediction] so I successfully blocked its attack. But this time, I was pushed back and my (HP) went down to ninety-nine per cent. Because of my [Pain Resistance], I could barely feel any pain.
After the rabbit landed, it jumped to another tree and jumped at me once more. While it was approaching me, it kicked the air which cancelled its momentum generating a powerful whirlwind which rushed at me.
My [Battle Instinct] skill alerted me that it was lethal. I wasn't expecting the only skill it has that is intermediate to be the most lethal but I think that may be as a result of the fact that it executed the [Tempest Kick] skill while it was in motion transferring its momentum to the attack.
This rabbit may be weak but if I play with it, it may kill me. The attack was far too fast and lethal for me to guard against it so I teleported away to avoid it. My destination was the rabbit's back and I grabbed two of its hind legs the moment I appeared behind it.
Indeed the attack was lethal. It snapped the first tree it came into contact with into two.
How dare it try to kill me? Well, I don't really blame it but you understand me right?
The rabbit realized I had grabbed its legs and tried to kick me several times with its free legs but I ignored its attacks and smashed its head into the ground.
Of course, I didn't use my full strength to do that but it still made a dent in the ground. Fortunately, my meat didn't turn into paste.
I adjusted my strength and I was about to finish it when my [Battle Instinct] and other detection skills alerted me of danger and approaching enemies.
The other guardian rabbits who hid in the bush tried to ambush me but I was a step ahead of them. I already knew they were hiding there so I kept my [Sylvan Sense] on and I even activated my [Area Awareness] to make sure they didn't catch me off guard.
When they jumped at me to attack, I teleported behind them and successfully used their leader to hit two of them together.
Then, I activated my [Rabbit Hunter] title and used my intimidation skill on them forcing them to collapse.
After forcing them to collapse, I killed all nine of them and got a chunk of experience. I got one hundred and two experience points from killing the leader and some more experience points from killing the others but that paled in comparison to the experience I got from the skills I earned from them.
In all, I got 411.2 (EXP) from killing the rabbits and 2972630.4 (EXP) from the skills I gained from them. Seems gaining skills gives me a lot more experience compared to killing other animals.
I am starting to think that it would take forever if I tried to rely on killing other animals to gain experience. Come to think of it, I should have gained a lot of skills when I killed so many creatures using Kuma. That must be the reason why I gained enough experience to level up even though I was wearing Kuma at the time.
{Ansah, did I gain a lot of skills when I used Kuma to save Eu and accidentally created a crater?}
Indeed Mr. Nonchalant, you got hundreds of skills but you ordered me to shut up before I could tell you so I isolated those skills.
{Why?}
Do I have to tell you?
{So you did so just to get back at me?}. It feels nostalgic. I used to bicker a lot with Junior when I was on Earth and I did the same with Nana although the banter between Nana and I never got heated. Well, Nana could easily restrain me whenever we had an argument so there was no way I could have engaged in any heated bickering with her. I think some of my desire to be with them was realized in the creation of Ansah.
Maybe. But I also isolated them because they were many and although your intelligence has increased and is quite high, trying to comprehend so many skills at a time may take a toll on your brain and make you collapse in front of your subordinates. You had just received enough skills from your new subordinates that you were then trying to learn how to use so ...
{Does it mean I wouldn't be able to control all of my skills if I get more?}
No and yes. You won't be able to keep up with them all as long as you don't level up fast enough to keep up with them but if you do, then your intelligence will level up with you allowing you to keep up with the numerous skills you would get in the future.
{Okay, thanks for protecting me from a headache but next time you should do your best to tell me.}
As long as you don't order me to shut up, I'll see what I can do about it, Master.
{And... According to what we are talking about, does it mean that as long as I am wearing Kuma, I can learn powerful skills without having to worry about the backlash of gaining too much experience?}
Yes, but you would lose a lot of experience that way and... As I said, having too many skills at your level would put a toll on your mind. It is best to balance levelling through skills, levelling through killing and gaining more skills.
{I know but leveling through killing is not helping. Do you know a way that I can gain more experience through killing? Also, what would happen to me if I sacrificed a lot of my levels while I had a lot of skills?
There is a way to gain a lot of experience points through killing but, I can not tell you until you encounter it yourself. When it comes to having many skills when you sacrifice your levels, it wouldn't matter since you would have already adapted to them all. One more thing is that after sacrificing your levels, you would find it quite easy to get back up since your experience requirements would be reduced to seventy per cent of the original
