CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR: Field Appraisal, The Seed System And Luck?

When Rox and his subordinates returned, Rox finally burnt down the Marva plant with the help of Au. The Marva tree had already started taking over the place it was left at.

When he was done, he went into his tent and started a long conversation with Ansah after which he started levelling up his [Gale] skill using its duplicates.

After levelling the [Gale] skill up to level forty-five, and fusing his [Advanced Appraisal], [Field Detection] and [Area Awareness] skills together to create an elite skill called [Field Appraisal] which allows him to both detect and appraise anything in his field, Rox gained more than nineteen billion experience points.

This effectively raised his level to level twenty-five. Any more and he would have collapsed.

After that, Rox decided to test his new elite skill. The moment he activated it, he started detecting everything that was within a five hundred metres radius of him. This detection is not linear like how one sees with the eyes.

The skill lets you see from all directions like you are standing everywhere in the field and allows the user to see even through walls and clothes. Because of this...

"Stop!" Rox shouted out loud when he accidentally saw Au in all her glory. Au was wearing clothes but that was transparent in the eyes of the field appraisal.

(I'm not a pervert. That was just by mistake. I am loyal to my Nana. Well... I told her I may marry others but that's not the issue here.) Rox tried to convince himself he didn't do something wrong and decided in the end that he would compensate her later by fulfilling one request of hers for her as long as it wasn't too much.

He also decided he wouldn't tell her he saw her as that may affect their relationship negatively.

After that, he put the skill under Ansah's management and told her that she should make it such that he wouldn't see what is beneath people's undergarments. He doesn't mind seeing the undergarments themselves as he thinks trying to be too considerate may put him at a disadvantage if people try to use concealed weapons on him.

The field appraisal when activated does not cost Rox mana or stamina as long as Rox doesn't try to see or detect beyond the default five hundred metres radius or try to properly appraise the detected items. Based on the amount of mana Rox puts into it, the range of his field will increase and he can learn more about anything within his field through appraisal. As it stands, he can even get to know part of a person's life through the skill.

For the [Gale] skill, he only levelled it up because it was the skill he had the most copies of. He just wanted to see just how fast he could raise his level through levelling up his skills.

He was well aware that for most people it wasn't easy to raise their skill levels and that he was only capable of doing so because of his Supreme skills and the fact that he was a seed.

*******

{Ansah, since you didn't tell me about the fact that I had certain skills and that duplicate skills can be used for levelling, what else are you hiding from me?}, Rox questioned Ansah after he was done with his levelling.

*It is not that I am deliberately hiding things from you, Master. According to my database... No, According to The Supreme God, the path of a Supreme God is one that he paves for himself. That is why I am limited when it comes to what I can tell you and it is the same reason why I can only inform you about things you have already come into contact with one way or the other.

As your assistant and your system, I am supposed to only assist you. I am not supposed to tell you what to do.

What I can tell you is that The Seed System is the highest form of system ever created*

Rox already knew that The Seed System was the best system created by the Supreme God and he also knew that Ansah couldn't just tell him everything so the fact that she told him something he already knew must mean she wanted to inform him that there is more to the system than he initially thought.

He thought The Seed System is the best when it comes to the nine tiers of systems in this multiverse but, frankly, he doesn't really know much when it comes to the systems. This may have given him a limited understanding of the capabilities of the system.

{Do you mean that The Seed System can do all the things all the systems I know about can do?}

*Yes Master, as long as the right conditions are met. As a Seed, you are supposed to be the one who shapes me.

Although all of the Seeds have Seed Systems, your systems including me will all end up being different due to your preferences and how you view your systems.*

{Really? So what you are telling me is that I can make you do whatever I want as long as the right conditions are met?}

*Yes, Master.*

{I know I don't have a skill that directly makes me create any skills I want but can I let you create any skill for me like what happened when I created my supreme skills?}

*Indeed, but it would come at a high cost. For example, a skill that you would need only 24 experience points in creating using your [Loki] skill would cost at least 240 experience points.*

{Is there another way?}

*Yes. As long as you can purchase skill points you can create skills using the Skills Creation System.*

{Purchase? ... Does the system have a currency?}

*Yes, Master.*

{Why didn't you tell me?}

At this time, Rox was already starting to get angry. He also knew that he wasn't supposed to direct his anger at Ansah.

*You didn't ask and -*

{I know. The path of a Supreme God is one that he paves for himself.

Just because he had to figure everything out by himself, he doesn't want to give us a helping hand...}

After saying this, Rox paused for a while to think.

Since The Supreme God has limited the information that the system gives to them, each of them would have to approach the system in their own way.

The powerful Seeds who may have lived with their respective tier systems for thousands, millions or even billions of years may be stuck in their own ways.

They may only see the Seed System as just a simple upgrade to whatever tier system they had before.

This may prevent them from finding out certain things that Rox now knows. Their Systems would also not go out of their way to tell them.

Heck, the probability that half of them have created their own assistant interface like Ansah is quite low.

That is something Rox only unlocked because of the novels he read back on Earth. He wasn't even expecting his words would make the system create a whole assistant interface for him.

He just didn't like the mechanical voice of the system.

Also, if the Guardians didn't tell the Seeds about the fact that they can summon aides then they wouldn't know about that too. It's even possible the Guardians themselves do not know.

Rox only found out from Baartu who is a Messenger and someone who can be summoned.

Even if they were told they could summon aides by sacrificing some of their levels, Rox doesn't think a powerful and prideful Seed would perform the summoning.

After considering all this, Rox said to Ansah with a smile on his face; {You know, I may be lucky this time. I think this may actually work in my favour.}

*Well, Master, to me you have always been lucky. After all, out of the infinite beings in the multiverse, you were picked as one of the ten Seeds by chance.*

{For me, it wasn't by chance. The Existence deliberately manipulated things in the back so that I would be chosen as a Seed.}

*That makes you even luckier compared to the other Seeds. Your luck may even be above the Supreme God's luck.*

{I find that hard to believe. If I was lucky, my father wouldn't have died before my birth. My mother wouldn't have died while giving birth to me. My caretaker wouldn't have died either and I wouldn't have died while trying to save someone. This is how my life went on Earth. I know I haven't shared this with you yet but tell me if this is the life of a lucky person.}

*I'm sorry, Master. But I still stand by the fact that I think you are lucky. The fact that you met The Existence after your death cancels all that you perceive as bad luck. Not even The Supreme God has been lucky enough to meet The Existence.*

{Even if I was lucky, I don't think my luck can affect The Existence. In his own words, he said he is the embodiment of possibilities so I can't actually tell. It is possible that he made me lucky to compensate for the bad luck I suffered in my past life.}

*What I can also say is that your luck may be so extraordinary that it defies the conventional notion of luck.*

{Since I can neither prove nor disprove you, let's put it in the fridge for now. If and when The Existence decides to meet me again, I'll ask him about it. Now tell me about the system currency and how I can gain some.}

*The Seed System currency is a currency that allows a Seed to purchase certain system benefits that would make their rise to power easy. It can also be used to buy mundane things at a cost in the system store which has everything in the multiverse.

Unfortunately, Master, you can only unlock the system store after you reach level thirty.*
