CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX: The Subordinate's Whereabouts; Going to The Border

Near the edge of a great forest with more than two hundred thousand square kilometres of surface area were seven Xerxi travelling together. As they were moving forward, one of them suddenly rushed forward and knelt in front of the youngest of them all.

The one who knelt down was a well-built male Xerxi who was six feet one inch tall while the one he knelt in front of was a young blonde girl with an air of nobility and elegance around her regardless of the fact that there was a hole in her elegant-looking dress.

The hole in her dress was because not long ago, part of the people she is currently travelling with tried to kill her.

"Princess Etit Sairitz, please forgive us for trying to kill you. Although we were just following orders, we know we were in the wrong." Epei, the man kneeling on the ground pleaded.

Plop

Another well-built man also knelt on the ground he was taller and more handsome than Epei although he was younger and he had vibrant red hair while Epei had green hair.

The young man's name was Ache and he also knelt and pleaded. "Please forgive us, Milady."

After his plea, two more people joined the ones kneeling on the ground. Of the two, one was a cute pink-haired beauty who looked to be about seventeen Earth years old and the other was a very handsome and slender man. They were Lante and Urch.

"Please forgive us, Your Highness." They both pleaded.

Etit looked at the four people kneeling in front of her and with an air of majesty, she said calmly; "There is no need for you to plead. We all serve the same Mazter and God. If all that didn't happen, we would never have met him so I hold no grudge."

The way she spoke made her seem like she was well above her age in maturity and all four of them bowed and thanked her for her magnanimity.

After that, Etit asked them to all stand up and Abre came up with a proposal; "Mistress, shouldn't we hurry home? We still do not know if your brother, Lord Rand was able to escape or not. Also, we are all now more powerful than we were. The skills I was trying to acquire also seem to be turning into actual skills now."

Abre is five feet ten inches tall with an athletic body honed on the battlefield. He has spiky hair which makes him look unruly but he has a kind heart.

Etit considered his proposal for a while and said; "Indeed, I am very worried about my family but we do not have mounts and although this part of the forest is not that dangerous we still have to be careful. When it comes to the part about your skills, I should say that the things I've been learning for a while are now turning into skills and I have even levelled up without having to do anything."

Rox was bent on making sure that his subordinates' levels wouldn't go down but he forgot to consider the fact that the higher the tier level of an individual's system, the easier it is for them to get skills. Experience points can be gained in so many ways including when one gains skills. As such, by gaining new skills Etit easily levelled up.

The other subordinates are also in the same situation but since a higher-level individual needs more experience to level up, it was more apparent when it comes to Etit. Also, Etit is the only subordinate around with A ninth-tier system three of the spells she had had already turned into skills and there was more to come.

Juba who is still with Rox also has a ninth-tier system but there is a reason why she has yet to get new skills. In the normal scheme of things, gaining skills is not supposed to be easy but intelligent races have a way around it. While less intelligent races gain skills by instinctively repeating certain activities, Intelligent races can also gain skills by learning magic spells or magic circles that allow them to use magic.

Not that less intelligent races can not use magic. As long as an entity has mana and knows how to use the mana to affect its surroundings, it can use magic. The main difference is that intelligent races can easily learn on their own and from others while less intelligent ones mostly do what they do out of instinct.

"We can simply run back Mistress. We are all more than twice as strong and as fast as we were when we entered this forest. I can carry you on my back and the others can all run faster than normal mounts." Abre said confidently.

After hearing Abre's proposal, Etit turned to Eu, a gorgeous-looking maiden behind her who was wearing a maid's outfit and asked; "What do you think about it?"

"I think it is a good idea, Mistress." Eu replied calmly.

"But won't the commotion caused by our rush through the forest cause the powerful creatures around to ambush us?"

"That is possible, Mistress, but same as they chose to not ambush us when we were running through this forest trying to escape with our lives a while ago, I don't think they will. And we are stronger now."

"Uh-urm..." Lante raised her hand nervously; "So, Princess, some magic that I have been working on for a while has turned into a skill."

Etit turned to Lante and asked; "What skill is it?"

"It is called, Flying Petals." Lante Conjured a flower out of thin air with her skill. The flower looks like a sunflower but bigger. The radius of the head was thirty centimetres. "This is what it looks like. You can simply stand on it and I'll control its flight."

"Isn't that too small for all of us?" Urch questioned.

"By adding more mana, I can make it big enough to accommodate us all."

"Okay, but will your mana last long enough to take us all back to the border? We have about One hundred and fifty kilometres ahead of us."

"Don't worry, I am confident that I can take us to the border in less than half a klok." A klok is equal to seventy-two Earth minutes.

Her [Flying Petals] skill is quite fast. It can reach up to two hundred and fifty meters per second in speed. But because she will be taking passengers, she will not be able to move at her top speed. Putting that aside, she can not keep up with the top speed of her skill in the first place.

If she could, she would have been able to take them to the border in ten minutes.

"I'll use my barrier skill to shield us during the flight but we shouldn't fly too high. Otherwise, some enemies may spot us. We should fly just above the trees." Eu added.

They all agreed to fly to the border on Lante's [Flying Petals] so Lante created a bigger one and they took off.

*******

Near the path that Etit and the others took was a spectacle left behind by a careless punch thrown by Rox.

A great scar had been left on the forest that stretched kilometres connecting Rox's Domain to Delle, the country that Rox's subordinates are returning to.

This scar in time is more likely to form a lake in the future but as it stands it has become the talk of the Delle Country.

Many have been speculating that a great dragon caused that and some have even started speculating that the enemies behind the barrier created by the gods to prevent them from coming from the Dark Side to destroy the weak Xerxi have found a way to cross that barrier.

There was pandemonium.

Those in the know had also started suspecting the so-called powerful being, probably a god who created the 'Rox's Sacred Grounds' that even the messengers of the gods had to go back and report to the gods when they went to investigate.

Although this has turned into the talk of the country, no one was brave enough to venture into the forest to investigate and for a time, some activities in the country had to halt especially those relating to the army.

Because of this, Etit's family's domain, The Sairitz Domain which the First Noble had ordered his men to capture was still standing.
