Deegra and two Kings have taken Dronko to Deegra’s Dungeon. Dronko is very weak and cannot control any black plants anymore. I still feel very sorry for my evil uncle. But I’m not going to let it worry me. Right now is a good day for both Realms. Springtime had come again and winter has ended for now, until December, all because I believed in myself. Silver and Edd have never been more proud than they are now. Candy is very happy for me because I have found my true home and saved spring. But she still can’t wait for the next winter in December.
All the Kings and Queens rejoice for the return of their long lost Rabaca’s. There is not a single sad face.
Clover is very happy to have her adopted sister, Flow, back to normal, or as normal as a Rabaca is.
Clover hugs me. “Thank you, thank you so very much.” She chuckles.
Silver and Edd proudly smile at me.
“Come with us Jake,” says Edd.
I grunt and release Clover’s hug.
Clover blushes. “Sorry about the squeezing hug,” he says.
“That’s all right. I have a feelin' that I’m goin’ to get many of those things a lot,” I say.
I turn to Silver and Edd. “So, where are we goin’, mom and dad?” I ask.
Silver calls out for my big hummingbird. It walks up to me, smiling. Edd and Sliver sit on top of my big hummingbird back.
I shake my head. “I think I’ll hop or run. I’m still a bit shaky aftah’ that fall. But thanks for catchin’ me, big bird,” I say.
The big hummingbird tweets and nods. Edd and Silver nod. I notice it's getting very quiet. I look around and all of the Rabaca’s have left. Even Deegra, Clover, Flow, and Fluffy, have left too. I look around and cannot find them. Candy is still with me, standing as she holds my paw. I look back at Edd and Silver on the big hummingbird.
“Where is everyone else?” I ask.
“They all went to Ferant Castle.” Edd point’s to the castle.
I turn to it. “Why?” I ask.
“They’ve all gathered,” answers Edd.
“For what?” I ask.
“Come and see why,” answers Edd.
The hummingbird flies Edd and Silver straight to Ferant Castle, which isn’t that far from Trodant Village. It seems like half a mile away. Edd and Silver walk into the castle. I set Candy on my back and run towards Ferant Castle. Candy holds onto my long rabbit ears but not so tightly.
We made it to the entrance of the Castle. Candy gets off of my back and holds my paw. The entrance to Ferant Castle looks like a huge arch with Rabaca drawings all over it. The entire castle is still in ruins, but the seven Kings and Queens are still in the castle. I look down at Candy and she looks up at me.
I swallow nervously.
“Are you nervous?” asks Candy.
I sigh and wipe my forehead. “I feel like I am in big trouble for breakin’ the law because I used the dark purple crystal to save this Realm,” I answer.
“Or…” Candy rubs my paw. “They summoned together to thank you for saving their Realm from the Shadow Rabbits and for saving their long lost sons and daughters,” he adds.
I slowly shake my head. “I don t know why they are gatherin’, but we’ll find out.” I take a deep breath and open large wooden the doors.
Candy and I walk under the arch. The huge sun crystal shines right into the castle. Flowers, vines, small trees, and colorful leaves are everywhere. It looks like a greenhouse. The room is huge. Like a big round room but with a hole in the ceiling. Ahead of us are the seven Rabaca Kings and Queens, both males and females. They stand together in a half circle. Edd and Silver are standing in the middle. Other Rabaca’s are standing on both sides of the room. They clear a pathway. Deegra is one of the seven Kings. Clover and Flow are with the other Rabaca’s and so is Grandpa Tucker.
Grandpa Tucker gently grabs Candy’s hand and takes her into the crowd. I watch as Candy walks away with Grandpa Tucker.
“Is my big brother in trouble?” asks Candy.
Grandpa Tucker winks at Candy. “Just watch, mate,” he says.
I turn back to the seven Kings and Queens. I swallow nervously.
Edd points at me. “Come forward, my son,” he says.
I nod and walk towards Edd, Silver, and the seven Kings and Queens. As I am walking up to them, all of Rabaca’s in the crowd stare at me. Some are quietly chatting with each other. I pull onto my jacket sleeves. I am nervously playing with my fingers. I take a deep breath. I am standing in front of Edd, Silver, and the seven Kings and Queens.
Edd points down. “Kneel, my son,” he commands.
I nod, kneel, and bow my head. I stop panting and just breathe normally. Edd clears his throat.
“Jake Grant…” Edd stops for a moment. “You broke the laws of our Realm. You almost used a part of the dark purple shadow crystal. It is forbidden to use any piece of the shadow crystal. It is very dangerous and can only be used for desperate times and nighttime in this Realm.” Edd sighs.
It sounds like he is disappointed and so are the others. I wait for the punishment that they might give to me.
“But what you did was desperate and brave too. We too almost broke the laws of our own. Our law is to never kill one another. We almost did that with my big brother, Dronko. The Kings and Queens all wanted to save our world the easy way and the wrong way. But you never gave up on saving our Realms from endless winter and endless darkness.” Edd points up at the ceiling.
I do a crooked smile.
“Arise…” Edd smiles. “Son of the Easter Bunny,” he finishes.
I stand up and my crooked smile changes into a whole one. Edd takes off his plant crown and walks toward me.
He places the crown on my head. “Do you swear to guard the hope, the joy, and the warmth of springtime every year?” asks Edd.
“I swear,” I say.
“Do you swear to bring joy, hope, and springtime on the Spring Equinox and deliver our colorful eggs every year on Easter?” asks Edd.
“I swear,” I say.
“Do you swear to not let any other human see or hear you while you’re doing your Easter Job?” asks Edd.
I pause and think for a moment. And then I nod. “I’ll try,” I answer.
“Then Jake Grant, my son, you are now and forevermore the Easter Bunny,” says Edd.
My smile drops into a frown. The Rabaca crowd cheers for me. Candy does not look happy. She seems sad. I sigh and take the crown off of my head. The cheering quiets down.
Edd and Silver are confused. “Son, I thought that this is what you wanted for yourself?” asks Edd.
I turn to Edd and pass him the crown. “I do, I do,” I say.
I drop my head and turn back to Candy.
I back to Edd. “But I aint ready yet,” I say.
The Kings and Queen's gasp.
So do Silver and Edd. “Why not son?” asks Edd.
“Because I’m just a beginnah’, I barely know how to use my powah’s. And it wasn’t really easy to save both of our Realms. It was very hard and I have not trained all my life like the rest of the Eastah’ Bunnies. I’m still different from the othah’s,” I answer.
“I’ll train you,” says Edd.
I walk up to Edd and slowly shake my head. “That’s just it. You won’t be with me all the time,” I say.
“What do you mean?” asks Edd.
I let out a loud sigh and turn away from Edd.
“I won’t be here all the time. I need to take Candy back home and return to my human family. Linda, Bryan, and my little brothah’s Tommy, Timmy, Tim, and Tom are worried about us. I made a promise to them. That when we return home, spring will return once again. I need to go back to the Human Realm. We need to go home,” I say.
Edd places his paw on my shoulder.
“I know son. I know that you need to return to the Human Realm, but right after you’re done visiting Bryan and Linda, I need you to deliver the colorful eggs,” says Edd.
I turn back to Edd. “But Eastah’s passed,” I say.
“Just deliver the eggs. You want to see the children happy with hope and joy, don’t you?” asks Edd.
I smile and laugh. “More than anythin’, yes I do,” I answer.
Edd turns to Silver and nods. Silver passes the purple satchel to Edd. It is the same purple satchel with white eggs and colorful eggs. Edd passes me the purple satchel. I grab it and put it over my shoulder.
Edd pats my back. “Then use these gifts to deliver the colorful eggs all around the Human Realm. The white eggs will teleport you anywhere you need to go. You have to hide the eggs where ever you can. Plus since this is your first time, I will help you deliver the eggs,” says Edd.
Grandpa Tucker walks up to me and pats my back. “We will help, little mate,” he says.
I feel very happy, excited, and nervous to deliver colorful eggs for the first time. And more importantly, my grandfather and my father will help me.
This feels like a father-son bonding time. I can’t wait to travel to the Human Realm. See new countries and new places. It feels like a world tour. I turn to Candy and she smiles at me. I smile back at her.
She hugs me. “Thank you,” she says.
“For what,” I ask.
Candy looks up at me. “For being real,” she answers.
“The real Eastah’ Bunny,” I ask.
“Sort of, you’re still training. And thanks for taking me to this wonderful Realm,” answers Candy.
Edd and Grandpa Tucker have sadness in their eyes.
Edd kneels in front of Candy. “Umm, we’ve got some bad news, little one,” he says.
I shake my head because I think I know what they are going to say to Candy.
“No, she can’t forget about this Realm,” I say.
King Famernt walks up to me. “She has too. No human has ever entered our Realm before. And no human has ever seen our Realm either. She needs to forget Edd’s magic. It’s the same magic that made you forget who you were when you changed into a human baby,” he says.
I shake my head. “No! Not my little sistah! Besides, without her, I would nevah’ have brought back spring again. She’s the reason why I brought back the Spring Equinox. Without her, I would have nevah’ done that!” I shout.
Silver nods. “Jake is right. It’s wrong to make a little girl forget about our beautiful Realm. Who’s going to believe her anyway?” she asks.
The seven Kings and Queens chat with one other. They are all discussing whether or not Candy should forget about the Rabbit Realm.
Grandpa Tucker clears his throat. “I told Linda Grant about our Realm when she was little. And she only told it to her little kids. No child has evah’ entered our Realm,” he says.
Grandpa Tucker turns to Candy and smiles at her.
“Until now, and no one except children will believe her,” says Grandpa Tucker.
I turn to the seven Kings and Queens.
“Besides, I’ve spent half of my life bein’ human. Now I am in my true form. What does that tell you?” I ask.
The seven Kings and Queens stop chatting. “Bring forth the little girl,” they all say together.
Candy walks up to the seven Kings and Queens.
“Little girl, will you keep this a secret? Will you keep our Realm a secret and tell no one about it? But only to those who believe in it?” they ask her.
“How will I know which person believes in the Easter Bunny and who can tell?” asks Candy.
Grandpa Tucker pats Candy’s head. “Your family knows, thanks to me and Linda. But if you tell anyone else then they’ll or might not believe you. But some still believe in the Easter Bunny and the true tradition of its holiday,” he answers.
Candy nods and runs back to me, looking very excited. “Can I come? Can I come? Please?” she asks.
I look at Edd and he shakes his head. I look at my grandpa and he shakes his head as well. I look down at Candy.
“Not this time,” I say.
Candy drops her head and quietly moans.
“Hey, look, little sis,” I say.
Candy raises her head and looks into my eyes.
“This is a job for the Eastah’ Bunny only. If you come along then people might think that you are a lost kid. You need to go home,” I say.
Candy sniffs and nods. “I understand.” she smiles. “Good luck, bro,” she says.
Edd and Grandpa Tucker place their paws on my shoulders.
“Are you ready to go?” asks Edd.
“Sure I am. But we need to drop off Candy at home first,” I say.
We use the white teleportation eggs and we all teleported.
We take Candy home, back to Minnesota right after we arrived in the neighborhood.
We arrive at the Foster Care home, where it is nighttime. The grass is green, the flowers are blooming, and the wet dew is on the ground after a rain shower. Caring Candy in my arms, I walk into the right side of the duplex home. I look around my room. Edd and Grandpa Tucker walk into my room. Edd looks impressed with where I live. We walk out of the right side and I enter the left side with sleeping Candy in my arms. I walk into Candy’s room very quietly. I gently set her on her bed and cover her with a thick blue blanket. I stare at Candy for a little bit and then kiss her forehead.
“Thanks for belivin’ in me, little sis,” I whisper.
I crush a white teleporting egg to teleport out of the room and appear at the front door. I watch as I hide behind the screen door. Candy wakes up and gasps. She looks around to find me. I am not in her room. She yawns and runs into Linda and Bryan’s bedroom. They are so happy that Candy is home, safe and sound. Linda sobs quietly with joy. Bryan laughs full of happiness. I peek through the front screen door and watch my human parents looking very happy to see Candy again.
“Where’s Jake?” asks Linda.
“He…he had to do his job?” answers Candy.
“What are you talking about?” asks Linda.
“What kind of a job?” asks Bryan.
Candy sighs through her teeth. “Umm, I can’t tell you. I swore that I will not say anything about the Realm except for those who believe in it,” she says.
Linda gasps and covers her mouth in shock. She feels like crying, but with joy.
“That is why you guys left, just to find a fable world?” she asks.
“It’s more like a fable Realm,” says Candy.
“I don’t care what it’s called.” Bryan sounds serious. “Where is Jake Grant and where have you guys been?! Now tell me the truth!” he snaps.
“I just did, but that’s all I can say. I can’t say anymore, I swore,” says Candy.
I turn back to Edd and Grandpa Tucker. They are hiding behind a tree. Grandpa Tucker nods and waves his paw at me. I nod and smile with proudness. I sigh and walk into my home. I take a deep breath and close the front door behind me. Linda, Candy, and Bryan hear the door being shut. They turn and see me, hiding in the shadows. I feel kind of nervous to come out of the shadows. Linda smiles, even though she does not know I am me.
“Are you…” she asks but does not finish her sentence.
I nod and throw a colorful egg at her. She caches the egg and stares at it.
“I knew it. I saw you when I was little. You told me everything about your home Realm,” she says.
I nod and turn away.
Candy lets out a chuckle. “Jake, cut it out,” she says.
I grunt and sigh loudly. Linda and Bryan quietly gasp. I turn back and walk into the light of the living room. Linda is speechless. So is Bryan. I chuckle nervously and rub my furry white chest.
“This…this is my true form. This is who I am. I am really a Rabaca. But I’m still Jake Grant. I’ve just changed into my Rabaca form,” I say.
Linda walks up to me. She chuckles and hugs me. He is choking me a little.
She lets go of me. “So, you’ve found it?” she asks.
“Yes, we did. Candy and I found my home, the Rabbit Realm,” I answer.
Linda stares at my green yellow swirly staff with the Golden Egg on the top. She looks at my purple satchel with eggs in it.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
“You are doing your Easter Bunny job?” she asks.
“Yes. I’m just droppin’ by. I need to go now. I need to finish deliverin’ the othah’ eggs,” I answer.
Linda hugs me again. “But you’ve just got here,” she says.
“Don’t worry Linda. It will only take me a few hours at nighttime. Then I’ll be done in no time, but aftah’ I work I need to relax,” I say.
“In the Rabbit Realm?” asks Linda.
“No, just here, probably the in the park,” I answer.
“But won’t people see you as a Rabaca? And can you change back into you’re human self?” asks Linda.
“I can’t. This is my true form. My time as a human is ovah’, but that doesn’t mean I will forget any of you,” I say.
Linda sighs. “If you need to relax after your job, then you should relax in your Realm. I don’t want people freaking out if they see a very large rabbit in the park,” says Linda.
“But I’ll miss you guys,” I say.
Bryan walks up to me and pats my back.
“And we’ll miss you too, but now we know where you are this time,” he says.
I clear my throat. “Listen, I’m very sorry about the car, the money, and getting’ into trouble with the cop,” I say.
Bryan shakes his head. “It’s all in the past now. Don’t worry about it,” he says.
I chuckle and hug Bryan. “I won’t. Thank you for bein’ the fathah’ that I needed,” I say.
We stop hugging each other and smile. “Where are the rest of the kids?” I ask.
“They’re asleep. Try not to wake them,” answers Bryan.
I sigh and walk out of the front door. Linda, Bryan, and Candy follow me outside. I take out a white teleporting egg. I turn back to Linda, Bryan, and Candy.
“I’ve got to get goin’ now,” I say.
Linda runs and hugs me for the third time. “Be safe my son,” she says.
I hug her back. “I will Linda,” I say.
Bryan and Candy join the group hug. We all hug for a moment and comfort each other.
“Thank you all for believin’ in me,” I whisper.
We release. I stretch my paws. “You might want to step away,” I say.
Candy, Linda, and Bryan walk away from me. I crush the white egg and it teleports me out of Minnesota.
After father Edd, Grandpa Tucker, and I delivered all of the Easter Eggs, we teleport back to the Rabbit Realm. We arrive in Trodant Village. Silver, Clover, and Flow are glad to see us again. We hug each other.
I lie in a long soft grassy meadow. I am now alone, resting and shutting my eyes. I can feel the warm wind blowing. I feel it on my rabbit ears and smell it with my nose. I unzip my blue hooded jacket down to open it. My furry tummy and chest are now exposed. I cover my eyes with my arm and rub my furry chest with the other one. I sigh, smile, and just relax.
I feel a paw rubbing my tummy. My right foot wiggles and stomps rapidly. I move my arm off of my eyes and see Edd over me.
“Oh, hi dad,” I say.
I cover my eyes again with my arm. Edd shakes me a little. I groan and sit up on my behind.
“What is it, dad?” I ask.
“Son, there is something that you need to know,” answers Edd.
I stretch my arms as wide as I can and yawn loudly.
“What now?” I ask.
I rub my eyes. Edd sighs. He stands up and grabs my Paw.
“Let me show you something,” he says.
I yawn and nod slowly. We leave the grassy meadow and head into Trodant Village. All of the Rabaca’s are asleep in their huts. Edd and I enter our home hut. He lifts a grassy bed to reveal a hidden tunnel. I jump into the tunnel. Edd does the same. We walk into the dark tunnel. I have my Golden Egg staff to light the way. The dark tunnel is very long but we keep walking.
We made it to the end. There is a river. It flows from a waterfall and into another tunnel.
“Is this where you and mom put me in that tree raft that brought me to the Human Realm, right?” I ask.
Edd nods. “That’s right son, but this is not what I want to show you,” he says.
Edd turns to the waterfall and taps on a few rocks next to it. The waterfall splashes some more water. The sound of the waterfall is very loud. I cover my ears and so does Edd. The water changes into a light blue color. Then it changes into many other colors, light red, light blue, light yellow, and light orange. The rocks on the colorful waterfall begin to crack. The cracks on the rocks split in the middle of the water. The waterfall opens to reveal a doorway. Edd walks into the river and under the waterfall. He is soaking wet. I sigh and walk under the waterfall. I shake the water off of my furry body and my hooded jacket.
Edd and I are in a very wide large roundish cave, with pointy rocks on the ceiling. The large cave has many colorful crystals on the walls. I touch one of the crystals and it shines like a candle. Up ahead is a stone wall. It is round like a large circle. It is huge and almost as tall as a house. It has a couple of rocks in front of it and colorful flowers too. Branches surround and on the spread the big circle stone.
On the big circle stone are symbols, but they are not Rabaca drawings. They look like symbols that I’ve seen before. There are thirteen symbols around tall the circle stone.
The first symbol looks like a picture of the Loch Ness Monster, the second is a groundhog, the third has is a full moon in the middle of two half-moons, the fourth is three leaves on top like an X, the fifth is a heart, the sixth is a serpent dragon in a circle, the seventh is an Easter Egg, the eighth is a tooth, the ninth is a clover, the tenth is a pumpkin, the eleventh is a time glass, the twelfth is a moon with a shadow on the right side of it, and the thirteenth and last symbol is a missile toe.
I walk up to the symbols. “What are these symbols, dad?” I ask.
Edd stares at the symbols and smiles as he chuckles. “Oh, I think you know what these symbols are, son. Look familiar?” he asks.
I gasp and smile. “I recognize most of these symbols. They look like the same symbols that I’ve seen back at home, I mean back at the Human Realm. They look like symbols of the holidays that humans celebrate in the Human Realm. Like Christmas, Halloween, Eastah’, Saint Patricks Day, Earth Day, and…well, a lot of them.” I say.
I turn to Edd. “Why show me this?” I ask.
Edd sighs. “Remember when you asked me who chooses to become the Easter Bunny?” asks Edd.
I nod.
Edd looks back at the symbols. “The Holidays Masters choose and the Rabbit Realm is not the only realm that exists,” he answers.
I gasp and look back at the symbols.
“You mean Santa, the Sandman, Mothah’ Natuah’, and all of the othah’ ones are real?” I chuckle.
Edd nods with a smile.
I laugh quietly andDeegra and two Kings have taken Dronko to Deegra’s Dungeon. Dronko is very weak and cannot control any black plants anymore. I still feel very sorry for my evil uncle.
She’s the reason why I brought back to spring.
“Is this where you and mom put me in that tree raft that sends me to the Human Realm, right?” I ask.
I laugh quietly and realize that this is just the beginning of the Holidays. that this is just the beginning of Holidays.
