It is now in the middle of the day, noon, I think. I didn’t have a watch or a clock with me. I wake up and rub my eyes. I yawn and cover my mouth. I kneel on my knees and stretch my arms in the air. I look around to find Candy and Clover. They are not sleeping next to me. They are in a meadow, picking out some more radishes. I stand up and grab my blue hooded jacket. I put it on and zip it up as much as I can. I do not zip it up to my neck, because it has a thick furry white chest. But I kind of like it that I cannot zip it up all the way. I don’t want to impress Clover or make her think that I am one hot Rabaca. I just like showing my furry chest, I think it is cute.
I remember what Clover and I did when we all took a nap together. She was cuddling with me when she placed her head on my furry chest. It felt very relaxing, but I do not know if she liked it or not. I take a deep breath and walk up to Clover.
“So…um, about last night…” I say.
Clover turns to me with a cute smile. I do not smile back. I feel a little nervous.
“What is it?” I ask Clover.
She continues smiling at me. “You want to know if last night meant something?” asks Clover.
I chuckle nervously. “Well…um…yes,” I answer.
Clover strokes my right rabbit ear. I twitch my right eye and rapidly stomp my right leg. Her stroking felt so good. I notice Candy watching Clover stroking my ear. She has no idea what’s going on with Clover and me. I shake my head and step away from Clover.
“Look Clovah’, last night was just um…fine, but we need to take it slowly. I mean we barely even know each othah’ and my little sis is too young to undah’stand what we were doin’,” I say.
Clover’s full smile changes into a crooked one.
“You’re right. I’m sorry Jake,” she says.
I nod, take out the Golden Egg from my backpack, and hold it in my paws.
“So Golden Egg, which way now?” I ask it.
The Golden Egg begins to glow. Its golden light points towards the west. It points out of Vinard Meadow and towards a couple of purple mountains. The purple mountains do not look very far. It is at least three or four miles away. Over the mountains, I notice some black smoke. It looks like fire smoke. I lower the Golden Egg and point in the direction.
“Hey Clovah’,” I say.
Clover turns to me.
“What’s ovah’ those mountains?” I ask.
Clover turns to the west and spots the same black smoke. Her face turns pale and her eyes widen. She stares at the smoke.
I shake Clover’s arms. “Oi, Clovah!” I snap.
Clover shakes her head and pants for breath. She turns to me and I notice fear in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” I ask.
“There’s fire over those mountains,” answers Clover.
“What’s ovah’ those mountains?” I ask.
“Ferant Castle,” answers Clover.
“What’s at Ferant Castle?” I ask.
Clover grabs her satchel and starts leaping toward the mountains
“Follow me!” she shouts.
I nod and grab Candy. I put her on my back as she holds onto my shoulders. I am running after Clover as she is leaping faster.
We leave Vinard Meadow and make it to the purple mountains. Clover jumps on top of a mountain. I follow her. I jump onto the mountains next to Clover. We are standing on top. On top of the mountain, I spot a huge castle in the distance and it’s not far away.
The castle is huge and roundish like an egg, with flowers, and circle drawings all over it. There are two tall towers. The castle looks like an egg and it is in the middle of the two towers. The two towers are very tall. They are round-like pipes with a spiral on the top of both of them.
The castle and the two towers do not look good. They are in ruins as dark black smoke flows out of them. They also have cracks and holes all over. As if something or someone just broke in.
Behind the castle is a village. It has at least forty huts. Some of them are shaped like eggs and others are shaped like triangles. They have black smoke and little fires in them.
Clover is in shock and so am I. Candy is scared. I jump off of the mountain and land behind the castle. Clover follows me. I look up at the castle.
“Is this Ferant Castle?” I ask Clover.
Clover does not say a word, she only nods. I set Candy on the ground and she holds my paw. We walk into the castle. I stop. This might be too dangerous for Candy. I kneel in front of Candy.
“I need you to stay here with Clovah’,” I say.
Candy shakes her head. “But I want to go in with you,” she complains.
“Candy listen to me, I’m just goin’ to see if anyone is in that castle. It’s way too dangerous for you,” I say.
“But Jake…” says Candy.
“Candy, I need you to stay here with Clovah’, please,” I say.
Candy lowers her head and nods. Clover stands next to Candy. She nods.
“Just what do you think you’re doing?” asks Clover.
I turn back to the castle.
“This place seems very familiah’ to me,” I say.
I walk under the arch of the castle. “Stay here, I’ll be right back,” I say.
I enter the round shape castle. I notice many holes and small fires that are causing the black smoke. I raise my head and look at the ceiling in the round chapel room. The ceiling has a huge hole in it. It is in the middle of the huge room. Pieces of broken rocks are from the ceiling. In the huge chapel are seven chairs. They all look alike. They are made of thick brown wood, with plants, and flowers all over them. I walk to the middle of the seven chairs.
“I remembah’ somethin’ happened here,” I say.
The castle begins to crumble and the ceiling is crumbling into pieces. I look up and the ceiling is starting to fall. I run towards the exit and it gets blocked by the falling rocks.
“Oh, Crikey!” I shout.
I look around and do not see another exit. I look up and see the same huge hole in the ceiling. I bend my legs and jump into the air. As I am jumping in the air the ceiling is collapsing around me. I get hit by a few small rocks, but the big rocks are falling around me.
I make it out of the hole and land in the middle of the village. Candy and Clover run up to me. The castle crumbles into debris and dust. Candy runs and hugs my waist. I hug her back.
“It’s okay, it’s all right,” I say.
Clover shakes her head and folds her arms. “What were you doing in there?!” she snaps.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
“Um…I needed to see if anyone was in there. Turns out it was empty,” I answer.
Clover shakes her head. “You know that is not your real answer,” she says.
I sigh. “Okay, all right. I wanted to see if anythin’ in there will jog my memory. I think when I was little, like a baby rabbit, my mothah’ and fathah’ were talkin’ to othah’ Rabaca’s in that castle,” I answer.
“Do you know what they were talking about?” asks Clover.
“How should I know? I was only a baby rabbit when it happened, I can’t remembah’ what they were sayin’,” I say.
My long rabbit ears shake a little. I hear someone or something.
I look around the village and I do not see anyone. I stare at one of the huts. The hut is round like an egg. I walk towards the hut and open front the door. Candy is still hugging me.
“Hold my hand,” I say.
“You mean paw?” asks Candy.
“Yeah, that.” I grab her hand.
Inside the hut are a fireplace with a round stone frame over it and a bed made out of green grass with a big flower. I walk to the bed and stare at it. I gasp and lost my breath. Emotional knots are twisting in my stomach. I start to cry quietly, kneel next to the grassy bed, and touch it.
Candy gently pats my back. “Brother, are you okay?” she asks.
I continue crying. “This was my home, my real home. This is where my real mom and dad use to put me to bed. This is where I lived,” I say.
Candy sniffs. She sounds kind of sad to me. She moves her hand on my shoulder. I continue crying as tears are falling down my furry face. I take a deep breath and sigh. I wipe the tears off of my face and turn to Candy. She stares at me with a worried look.
“If this is my home, then where is everybody?” I ask.
Candy scrunches her shoulders. She does not know. I don’t expect her to answer. I was just asking myself. I walk out of the hut. Candy is still in the hut. I walk to Clover outside. She shakes her head and rubs the back of it. Her chin is on her paw. I stand next to her. We watch the ruined village with small fires and smoke.
“So, what happened here?” I ask.
“I have no idea. We Rabaca’s don’t ever use fire,” answers Clover.
“What? You don’t use fiah’ at all?” I ask.
“No, we don’t. Winter never comes in the Rabbit Realm, only spring remains here. We don’t ever use fire. We don’t know how to use it or make it. When we get a little chilly at night when the air is moist we like to, well, um…” Clover stops for a moment and quietly chuckles.
She sounds nervous to finish her sentence. But I think I know what she is going to say.
“You Rabaca’s do what we did in Vinard Meadow?” I bush.
Clover rubs her shoulder. “We cuddle when we need to get warm at night,” she says.
I chuckle nervously and rub my shoulder.
“Anyway, if you Rabaca’s don’t use fiah’ then what’s all this in this ruined burnt village?” I ask.
“I don’t know. Someone or something might have caused all this,” answers Clover.
“But who could have?” I ask.
Clover scrunches her shoulders. “I don’t know,” she says.
My ears rise as I hear Candy’s voice. “Jake, come in here!” she shouts from the hut.
Clover and I run into the hut. Candy is kneeling in front of the grassy wooden bed. She looks under the bed. I kneel and look under the bed as well. It is kind of dark under it. I notice something shaking and whimpering under the bed. It looks like a small rabbit. Its eyes are yellow. I cannot tell if the fur is black or dark red because it is dark under the bed. I watch the little rabbit and it reminds me of myself when I was little. The little rabbit is still shaking and whimpering.
Candy turns to me. “The poor little guy is scared,” she says.
I nod. “It’s all right mate,” I gently say to the scared rabbit under the bed.
The little rabbit continues to whimper. “Are they g-gone?” asks the rabbit.
His voice sounds like a scared little boy.
“Who’s gone?” I ask.
“The Shadow Rabbits, are they gone?” asks the small rabbit.
I gasp and turn to Clover.
“This little bunny just said that the Shadow Rabbits came in here. I thought you said that they only stay in Chivem Land?” I ask Clover.
“I never said they stay in Chivem Land. I only said that Chivem Land is their territory now,” answers Clover.
I look back under the bed.
“Do you know why the Shadow Rabbits came here, little guy?” I ask.
The little rabbit does nothing but cry. He seems too scared to answer me. I try to comfort him.
“Hey little mate, it's okay, you can tell me,” I say.
But the little rabbit keeps on crying.
“I’m Jake Grant, this is my adopted little sistah’, her name is Candy, and the pink Rabaca behind us is called Clovah’,” I say.
Clover looks under the bed and at the small scared rabbit.
“Hey little rabbit, what’s wrong?” asks Clover.
The little rabbit sniffs and wipes his nose. “There were Shadow Rabbits. We were just having a good day. We were planting our veggies, napping with one another, laughing, and playing. It was peaceful and beautiful. Then the Shadow Rabbits came and took all of the little rabbits,” answers the small rabbit.
The little rabbit cries harder as he covers his face with his little paws.
“They took all of my brothers, my sisters, my friends, and my mom and dad.” He sobs.
I turn to Clover and then to Candy. Clover’s eyes begin to get watery. Candy is softly crying. I sigh and my lips tremble.
“Do you have a name, little mate?” I ask the little rabbit under the bed.
The small rabbit sniffs and wipes his little pink nose.
“My parents never gave me a name. They didn’t have time. They were going to give me a name until the Shadow Rabbits came and…took them.” he whimpers.
I shake my head. “Well, then we should give you a name. And when I mean we I mean Candy,” I say.
Candy has that excited look on her face.
“How about Fluffy?” she asks the small rabbit.
I chuckle. “Fluffy? You only chose that name because he’s cute and fluffy,” I say to Candy.
“Like you?” asks Candy.
I chuckle nervously and look back under the bed. “Why don’t you come out?” I ask the small rabbit.
The small rabbit drops his head and quietly whimpers.
I stand up, lift the grassy wooden bed, and lean it on the wall. Now we can see the little rabbit’s color thanks to the light in the room. The small rabbit’s fur is light red. But his jaw, tummy, and chest are white. He is still a little scared. Candy reaches her arms.
“It’s okay, come here, no one is going to hurt you,” she says.
The small rabbit begins to crawl up to Candy. He is whimpering as it is crawling. I notice that he is limping. A small cut is on his front right front paw. Candy gasped as she noticed the injured paw.
“Oh no, it’s hurt.” She gasps.
Candy picks up the small light blue rabbit and pats its head. The small rabbit is still crying because of his cut.
“I was running away from the Shadow Rabbits. One of them caught my paw. I struggled to break free from its grasp. Then it cut me after I slipped free. I’ve been hiding under this bed ever since,” says Fluffy, the small red rabbit.
Candy hugs Fluffy and starts to cry again. I did not bring my first aid kit with me and that is making me feel a little worried for poor little Fluffy. I think of something that might help.
“Wait here, I’ll be right back,” I say.
I run out of the hut and look around the village for any plants that might help Fluffy. I found some long grass, some pink leaves, and some green Daisies. I pick one of the green Daisies, two pink leaves, and a few long green blades of grass.
I run am running back to the hut. I trip and fall into a batch of green Daisies. I take one sniff from them. The pollen from the green Daisies smells so good. It is unlike anything I’ve ever smelled before. I stand up and shake my head. I gaze for a moment then sighed with a smile. I walk to the hut and enter it. I wink at Clover as I walk past her. I kneel in front of Candy and Fluffy.
“Here, use these. The pollen from this flowah’ will help the pain, and the leaves will help the infection from the cut,” I say.
I squeeze the green flower over the cut that is on Fluffy’s right front paw. Little green pollens come out from the green flower and land on the small cut. I place the pink leaves on the cut. Fluffy whimpers in pain. These plants are healing his cut. I use the long grass to tie the pink leaves around Fluffy’s injured paw. Fluffy stops whimpering and the pain seems to be going.
Fluffy smiles at me. “It’s all better now. Thank you,” says Fluffy to me.
I wink at Fluffy and turn to Clover.
“So what do you think?” I ask.
“About what?” asks Clover.
“About what I did?” I lean on a wall and place my paw on my hip.
I am doing a sexy pose in front of Clover. She stares at me.
“Well, I thought it was very nice of you to heal the cut on Fluffy,” answers Clover.
I raise my eyebrows and do a cunning smile at Clover. I slowly unzip my jacket to reveal my white furry Rabaca tummy. I slowly remove my jacket and drop it on the floor. I quietly chuckle as I place my paws on my hips.
“It was kind ‘a hot. Wasn’t it?” I ask.
Clover blushes a little. I stroke my long Rabaca ears.
“Your name sounds like the most beautiful flowah’ in this Realm,” I gently say.
Clover backs away from me. She looks at the green Daisies on Fluffy’s injured paw.
“Jake what kind of flower did you pick?” asks Clover.
I completely ignore her question and stroked her ear. Clover slaps my paw. I chuckle and rub my furry chest.
“Oh come on you hot chick. I think it’s a little chilly in here. Why don’t we snuggle in a long grass meadow?” I smile while showing my white teeth.
Clover sighs and shakes her head. Candy and Fluffy look up at me.
“What’s wrong with Jake?” asks Candy.
Clover shuts her eyes. “I hate to do this.” She whispers.
Then she punches my nose very hard. I cover my nose and groan in pain. I feel a little woozy and trembling. My wooziness fades away. My nose is still hurting a lot with a bit of blood.
“Crikey, what was that for!?” I muffle.
Clover grabs a piece of the bed sheet and rips it into a small handkerchief. She gives it to me. I cover my bleeding nose with the handkerchief.
“You inhaled some green chrysanthemum flowers,” says Clover.
“Chrysanth-a…what?!” I mumble.
“Chrysanthemums are called Daisies as well. They are dark green flowers. If you sniff the green flowers, then you will make you feel romantic and do sexy possess,” answers Clover.
“So…I was bein’ romantic?” I ask.
“Yes, you were, and very annoyingly too. You see, each flower has a mood change. It’s like a mood ring. Only if you sniff the mood flowers, they will make you change your emotions and feelings. So watch out for those kinds of flowers. I’ll let you know which flowers you can sniff and ones to avoid,” says Clover.
I take off the cloth from my nose. The bleeding has stopped. “No problem. Just next time can you not punch my nose so hard? Oh, Crikey.” I rub my nose.
“Sorry about that, but it seemed to be the only way to get the pollen out of your nose,” says Clover.
I nod and put on my hooded jacket. I zip up to the middle. I am still showing my furry chest. But only because there is too much fur on my chest and I cannot zip it all the way.
I take out my Golden Egg from my backpack. The Golden Egg shines to the North. We leave Trodant Village with Fluffy. I turn back to the ruined village. I am trying not to worry about it. We head north.
