What a dangerous adventure it has been. We’ve traveled the world to find Easter Island, an earthquake showed us the way to my home Realm, I’ve changed back into my blue/grey Rabaca form, I’ve faced freaky-looking shadow rabbits, and now I am meeting a tall female Rabaca who just saved me from the shadow rabbits.
The shadow rabbits are gone, for now. I pant and sigh with relief. I am so glad that I am still alive. I stand up and rub the back of my head. The female tall Rabaca almost looks like me. Only she is a little shorter than I am. She has light pink fur all over her body, her inside ears are white, her jaw, her chest, her tummy, her feet are also white, she has green eyes, she is wearing a brown leather belt around her waist that holds a satchel, and her nose is dark pink.
I chuckle nervously and continue rubbing the back of my head. It still hurts after I bumped it.
“What did you ask me before?” I ask.
“I asked you what was your name,” asks the pink Rabaca.
“Oh, It’s Jake Grant,” I answer.
“And didn’t you just say that you’re from the Human Realm?” asks the female pink Rabaca.
“Yes. Yes, I did. I said we are from the Human World,” I answer.
The pink Rabaca looks around. “We?” she asks.
“Me and my little sistah’. Her name is Candy,” I answer.
Then I just remembered that Candy was on top of a mountain. I look up at her and see her waving her hands to get my attention. I hit my forehead and feel so stupid.
“Oh, man! I forgot Candy!” I snap.
I leap from the ground and onto the top of the mountain where Candy is standing still. I put her on my shoulders and she holds onto my rabbit ears. I jump and land safely on the ground. I slowly set Candy down.
She hugs me and cries. “Please don’t do that again. I thought you were a goner,” she begs.
I hug her back and sigh. “I was only tryin’ to protect you from those black things. But I’m okay now,” I say.
Candy cries for a minute and then stops. We release our hugs and smile at each other. Candy turns to the tall pink female Rabaca. She chuckles and gently grasps the pink Rabaca’s paw. The pink Rabaca smiles at Candy and quietly chuckles. The pink Rabaca picks up Candy.
“Aren’t you just the sweetest thing I ever did see?” asks the pink Rabaca.
Candy chuckles. The pink Rabaca sets Candy back down.
“What’s your name?” I ask.
“Clover,” answers Clover, the pink female Rabaca.
I assume that she is offering a flower. “No thanks, I don’t want a Clovah’,” I say
Candy chuckles. “That’s her name, defuses,” she says.
I chuckle and feel embarrassed. “Oh right, I knew that,” I say.
Clover and Candy both shake their heads.
“So…how did you scare away those Shadow Rabbits?” I ask Clover.
Clover reveals a yellow crystal from her satchel.
“I scared them with this. This yellow crystal shines just like the huge sun crystal up there. The light scares any shadow threat and it also helps grow plants with its sunlight,” she answers.
I look up at what I thought was the sun. “You mean that the sun is a huge crystal?” I ask.
Clover nods.
I point at the huge sun crystal. “What’s holdin’ it up?” I ask.
Clover scrunches her shoulders. “Don’t know, what holds up your sun in the Human Realm?” Clover asks.
I shake my head. “How do you know about the Human Realm?” I ask.
“I’ve heard stories about the Human Realm.” Cover jumps on top of a mountain.
I assume that she wants us to follow her. I pick up Candy by her waist and leap onto the top of the mountain. Clover points at a large meadow.
“I am on my way to Vinard Meadow. I need to pick out a few radishes,” she says.
“That’s okay, we’ll come with you,” I say to Clover.
Candy winks at Clover and giggles. “That’s just his way of saying do you want to go on a date?” says Candy.
I nudge Candy a little and shake my head. “No. That’s not what I meant,” I say.
Clover sighs. “I was telling you where I was going because you guys seemed lost,” she says.
I clear my throat. “Lost? We ain't lost. We’re just lookin’ for The Eastah’ Bunny, that’s all,” I say.
“Where are you really from?” asks Clover.
“We’re from the Human Realm. We live in Minnesota,” I answer.
Clover gently shakes her head. “No, I mean where are you from, Jake Grant? Like where were you born and who are your parents?” Clover stares at me.
I was going to take out my Golden Egg. Then I just remember that I lost it. I whistle to get the Golden Egg’s attention. Not that it can hear me though. The Golden Egg flies out of nowhere and hovers toward me. I grab it and hold it in my paws. I show Clover the Golden Egg.
“I found this Golden Egg and it led us to this Realm. When I came into this Realm, I turned into this blue/grayish tall Rabaca, but Candy didn’t. This Golden Egg that I’ve found can light the way when evah’ I say a location. Or it lights up the gold compass that is in the egg,” I say.
Clover takes to Golden Egg from my paws and stares at it. She looks very surprised as her eyes are widening. Clover looks like she knows what the Golden Egg is.
“It can’t be,” she whispers.
“Can’t be what?” I ask.
“You have been holding the Golden Egg of the Easter Bunny this whole time?” asks Clover.
I wipe my head. “Well I wouldn’t say hold, but I…” I stop for a moment and my rabbit ears drop.

I slowly turn to Clover and stare at her. “You know the Eastah’ Bunny?” I ask her.
“Everyone knows him,” answers Clover.
“Wait, so he is a he?” I ask.
“Yes. All Easter Bunnies are males,” says Clover.
“We need to find him right now,” I say.
“Why in such a hurry?” asks Clover.
“My human mothah’ told us story’s about this Realm and that the Eastah’ Bunny lives here. And that he is the one who makes wintah’ go away and lets spring come again. He is not doin’ his job. Wintah’ has always remained in the Human Realm. Spring hasn’t come yet because the Eastah’ Bunny nevah’ came to the Human Realm and done his job,” I say.
I grab Clover’s shoulders and desperately shake her. “Where…is…he?” I ask.
Clover looks down with a disappointed face. I am afraid of what she might say.
“He’s…not the Easter Bunny anymore,” she says.
I gasp. “Why?” I ask.
“Because every Easter Bunny has the Golden Egg, and without it, they can’t navigate when they deliver Easter baskets and eggs. The Golden Egg has been lost for many years. Besides, he’s getting old,” answers Clover.
I let go of Clover’s shoulders. I shake my head and look down at the bottom of the mountain. I shiver with fear and notice a shadow rabbit staring at me. More are gathering together. They are waiting for me to come back down. But I do not dare come down into the dark cracks of these mountains.
“We need to get out ‘a here,” I say.
Clover nods. I grab Candy and put her on my shoulders. She holds onto my rabbit ears. Clover jumps off of the mountain and lands on the right side of it. I follow her lead and land next to her. I set Candy back down on the ground.
“What were those things?” asks Candy Clover.
“Those were Shadow Rabbits. They hunt in the shadows of Chivem Land,” answers Clover.
“Those things tried to kill me,” I say.
“Well Chivem Land is their territory now,” says Clover.
I lift my arms up and down. “Well nobody bloody told me that,” I say.
Candy stomps on my foot.
I rub my foot. “What?!” I shout.
Candy points at Clover. “Remember what Mom and Dad said? Language!” whispers Candy.
I lower my foot back down. “Sorry,” I say calmly.
Clover points at Vinard Valley.
“We should get going. If I don’t reach Vinard Valley by noon, the radishes will not be fresh,” she says.
I nod. Clover walks away from Chivem Land. The top of the mountains is still shining in the light of the sun. The Shadow Rabbits are not following us, because the sunlight hurts them.
We are walking in the direction of the sun. It is the east to where we are heading too.
We walk for at least an hour or two. We pass Carrot meadow. Carrot meadow has all kinds of carrots and is at least a mile wide. Some of the carrots have strange colors. Some are light green, light blue, light red, light yellow, and light purple. It is very odd because normal carrots are orange. I feel like picking one out of the ground. My paw reaches for one of the carrots and they suck down into the ground. Candy tries to grab another one, but it also sucks into the ground. All of the carrots are sucked into the ground.
“Clovah’, was hungry and these carrots keep suckin’ into the ground,” I say.
Clover opens her satchel and moves her paw around. She pulls out another crystal from her satchel. This one is green. She throws the green crystal at me and I catch it.
“Put the green crystal over the carrots,” says Clover.
I do nothing. “How is this goanna to help?” I ask.
Clover doesn’t answer. She points down at the ground.
I sigh and put the green crystal on the ground. The green crystal is glowing like a little flashlight. All of the colored carrots are popping out of the ground one by one. My jaw drops after what the green crystal just did. Candy giggles and she takes some carrots out of the ground. My mouth is still wide open. Clover folds her arms and smiles at me.
I turn to her. “How did it do that?” I ask.
“Each village has a green crystal, so they can grow their plants and veggies. The plants feel the power of the green crystal as they come out of the ground. We can even use the green crystal to control plants to do selfish deeds if we wanted to, but we choose not to. The green crystal is like a flame to a moth,” answers Clover.
“Wait a minute. You said that plants feel the powah’ of the green crystal. Are you sayin’ that these plants are alive?” I ask.
Clover bends down and puts her paw on the ground. The carrot pops out of the ground and lands on Clover’s paws.
“But if they feel the powah’ of the green crystal, won’t they feel the pain when you eat’em?” I ask.
“They only feel the power of the green crystal, and when they feel it, they pop out of the ground. They know that without the green crystal, we would starve. So in a way, they’re alive but not alive,” answers Clover.
I shake my head and place my paw on my forehead.
“I’ve got a lot to learn about this Realm,” I say.
Clover nods and walks to the green crystal to pick it up. “Let us continue,” she says.
I nod and turn back to Candy. “Let’s go, little sis,” I say.
Candy runs up to me. She is holding at least five carrots in her arms.
We continue following Clover as we leave Carrot Meadow. It isn’t long until we’ve reached Vinard Meadow. It is right near Carrot Meadow. Vinard Meadow has lots and lots of green vines. On the vines are radishes. They too have the colors of the rainbow. Some are dangling on the branches and some are on the ground.
Clover takes out her green crystal and places it on the ground. She picks out as many radishes as she can. I am picking them and so is Candy. I was going to take a bite out of one of the carrots that Candy had. I am thinking about what Clover said about the plants being alive, sort of. I gulp and was about to take a bite out of it. I shake my head and shutter.
“Eew, I can’t eat this carrot when I think it might be alive. It’ll be cannibalism,” I say.
Clover chuckles as she shakes her head.
“They only come out whenever the green crystal is on the ground. It’s like watering your plants from in the Human Realm,” she says.
I gulped one last time before thinking of taking a bite out of the carrot. I take a bite and chew the carrot. It tastes so sweet and moist with a bit of water in it. It is the best carrot I have ever tasted. I continue eating the carrot. I cannot stop eating it. I grab a radish and take a bite out of it. It is so sweet.
“Oh crikey, these vegetables are so sweet. It's bettah’ than pizza,” I say.
“What’s pizza?” asks Clover.
“It’s kind of a greasy hot food that humans eat,” I answer.
“Sounds disgusting,” says Clover.
She picks out some more radishes.
After like a few minutes, Candy and I ate some more carrots and radishes and we feel full. I feel like burping, but not in front of Clover or Candy. I cover my mouth and burp quietly. Candy seems very tired. She yawns and gently falls on my lap. She struggles to get comfortable and falls asleep. I watch her as she is sleeping. She is quietly snoring. Clover is done picking out some radishes. She turns to me and Candy. She smiles and sits next to me.
“That’s a cute little sister you have there,” she says.
“I know. She’s quite the little chick ain't she?” I ask.
“Chick?” asks Clover.
I turn to Clover.
“I grew up in Australia. My human parents and I moved to Minnesota aftah’ my eighteenth birthday. Aftah’ a few years in Minnesota, I found Candy all alone in a park. She told me she was an orphan. So my human parents took her in as a membah’ of the family until we find her real parents. And I’ve been watchin’ ovah’ her evah’ since,” I say.
Clover nods. “Why are you here, Jake Grant?” asks Clover.
“I told you, to find the Eastah’ Bunny,” I answer.
Clover looks into my eyes. I let out a quiet sigh and gently move Candy onto the grass. She is still asleep. I stand on my feet and lower my head.
“To tell you the truth, I think I was called here,” I say.
Clover stands up on her feet.
“Of course, you were called here. You’re a Rabaca, like one of us,” she says.
I shake my head. “No. When I was little my human parents adopted me. When I turned eighteen, I lost my taste for food, but not vegetables. I could hear bettah’ than before, my nose could sense anyone a mile away, and I found this Golden Egg,” I say.
I pull the Golden Egg out of my pack back.
“I asked it to find this place for me. And it did. The real reason why I came here is so that I can find my real mom and dad and find out why they gave me up when I was little. And to find out if this is my home. And to…” I stop for a moment and sigh.
My rabbit ears and grunt quietly.
“I have so many questions. And I hope all of the answah’s will be here in this Realm,” I say.
Clover holds onto my paw.
“We’ll find the answers, together,” she says.
I turn to Clover. “Why are you helpin’ me?” I ask.
“If I didn’t then those Shadow Rabbits would have killed you,” says Clover.
“No I mean, why are you helpin’ me?” I point at her and then at myself.
“You are one of us now. And I feel that you found me. And that I found you,” says Clover.
I quietly chuckle. “Don’t tell me its fate?” I ask.
Clover smiles at me and nods. “Maybe, maybe not,” says Clover.
I gulp and chuckle. I feel a little tired. So I lay on my back and onto the grass. I cover my eyes with my arm and place my other arm on my tummy. Clover lies next to me. I move my arm off of my eyes and peek over at Clover. I smile and sit up. I sigh and took off my blue jacket. I place it on Candy to keep her warm because it is kind of chilly. We all are tired from walking.
I stare at Clover while she is sleeping. I lay next to her, place my arm on her shoulder, and stroked her ears with my other paw. She moves her head onto my furry chest and sighs. I sigh as I feel her warm furry body. She looks so comfortable right now. Candy struggles around and moves to my back. I turn to her and she stops struggling around and sighs. I smile and quietly chuckle. I lower my head onto the soft long grass and fall asleep with Clover and Candy.
