Loyalty Explains Comments - Dungeons and Monster Nodes

Pinned Comment (Melena): I will be deleting all comments about the fact that I'm a loli or that are inappropriate.

Comment: What are the rewards for completing a Dungeon a second time?

Melena: If you have already completed a Dungeon of a certain Level, completing the same Level of Dungeon only grants 100 experience and whatever items the Dungeon rewards. From then on, it does not give any rewards beyond the experience for killing the monsters inside.

Comment: Are there dragons in these Dungeons?

Comment: Is there any use for failure dungeons?

Melena: Monsters that refuse to die are usually great target dummies for Skills, though a better target would either be yourself for Skills that won't instantly kill you or an ally while you both increase your Skill Levels.

Comment: So no dungeon cores

Melena: Correct.

Comment: You're very active in the comments for a channel that gets the views you do.

Melena: I do wish to educate, even if I am not the best for the job. Answering questions related to what I have said both educates and increases my ability to do so.

Comment: Can you create a Dungeon without a Village or Monster Node?

Melena: I will not say no, but the complexity of enchantments that would be required is far beyond anything the Patron of Enchanting can do. You may be able to do it if you dedicated your entire Skill set to doing nothing but creating a Dungeon, but no one has done so, and I see very little reason to do so when Village Dungeons already exist. The only way it would be useful is if they could have monsters with a higher Level than 75.

Comment: Why are the bosses so much stronger than normal enemies?

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

Melena: Why the System does this is unknown, but it seems as if Dungeons are meant to be cleared by a group of roughly 6 people at the exact Level of the Dungeon. Doing so is difficult, but can be very effective for gaining experience.

Comment: When are you going to talk about Quests in general now that you've mentioned them so often?

Melena: I will talk about Quests in the Quests and Invasions video. The most common Quest is an invasion quest, despite how infrequent they are in the wider multiverse.

Comment: Can a normal dungeon feature already existing fictional scenes everyone knows

Melena: Yes, but only if they are close enough to the reality of the world before the System came. So, since your world had no Mana in it before the System came, any story involving Mana cannot be reproduced; most often, however, the historical event the System uses are from after the System comes to the world, presumably so it does not have to make up Levels and Skills appropriate for the Level of the Dungeon and because it can use something it has directly seen, rather than interpret events it did not.

Comment: From the announcement when a Monster Node is destroyed, it sounds like Monster Nodes are a finite resource. Is this the case?

Melena: Yes. A Monster Node cannot exist within roughly 407 feet of each other. When the Node is destroyed, it does not make that area usable again, causing Monster Nodes to eventually run out. They are significantly less useful than Village Dungeons as a source of experience, so it is rare a world lets them stick around for more than a few years after the System comes.

Comment: Can dungeon monster bodies be used for materials?

Melena: Yes. These materials are nowhere near as good as a standard metal, unless the monster was a golem of said metal, in which case they are equal, but crafters are capable of using parts of monsters as material.

Comment: Huh. How does equipment not get instantly destroyed if it's made from mundane steel?

Melena: The System often enhances the durability of the material when it is used in equipment, then it can be further enchanted to be harder to destroy. I talked about this more in-depth in my Equipment and Enchanting video. If that does not have enough detail for you, you can find our website in the description of this video to learn more.
