Loyalty Explains Comments - Classes

Pinned Comment (Melena): I will be deleting all comments about the fact that I'm a loli or that are inappropriate.

Comment: Couldn't have included an example of a class structure?

Melena: The Class structures of the nine basic Classes, as well as an explanation of what each part of each one means, are on our website, linked in the description.

Comment: Can I change my Class?

Melena: Unless you count Class evolutions as changing your Class, then no. You cannot remove your Class and start anew. This has been tried and any "successes" resulted in the death of the Class holder. There are some theoretical tests you could perform, if you are willing to potentially sacrifice yourself for the advancement of knowledge, on our website; I do not recommend trying any of them, though, because they will almost definitely lead to your death.

Comment: Can I see my Class?

Melena: Some people actually visualize the inside of their soul when they access and/or create a soul armory. Their Class is visible to them when they do so.

Comment: Can you modify your Class while inside your soul armory?

Melena: People have tried and not even the three Class engineers have succeeded. I will not say it is impossible, just that it has not been done by the three people most skilled in meddling with Classes.

Comment: When should you get a Class?

Melena: As soon as possible.

Comment: The recent patch notes said that Class gain is now minorly affected by the user's self-image. What does this mean?

Melena: The nine basic Classes remain the same, but the Class Ideal is shifted as far as possible toward the user's image of themselves without changing the Class's name, potentially changing one or two of the Level rewards slightly and/or granting a different Skill than normal. Any Skill differences will similarly be very small, but enough to have a different name, if they happen.

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

Comment: Can you have a second Class?

Melena: No.

The One: Is it possible to trade Tokens? Neither my friends nor I have figured out how to do so. We have decided it would be best to give another of us all of our Class Evolution Tokens from invasions so they hit a The Class, then switch to me, then another of us, and repeat. Is this a useless endeavor, or can we actually accomplish this?

Melena: It is not possible. Additionally, there is only one recorded case of someone who reached a "The" Class without having used an Intentional Class Evolution Token as the final step. Unless you saved yours, it is unlikely to happen.

The One: Thank you.

Comment: What is the maximum Level?

Melena: There is no known maximum Level, but the highest Level reached was 108, an entire Level above when Level 90 invasion bosses, the highest Level monster, stops giving any experience. Currently, the highest Level someone alive holds is 105. The only way to surpass level 107 is to kill people with a level above 90. The person to reach 108 was a serial killer of great power and required a large group of Patrons to kill. I doubt even the So'Ejan of today could kill them alone, and he is the Patron of Duels.

Comment: how big of a change to class ideal can an intentional evolution give you?

Melena: As far as we can tell, the changes can be arbitrarily large, but the initial Class Ideal will still be used as the base, meaning going from a pure melee Class with zero uses for Mana from the Class to a purely Mana-using Class is extremely hard and requires a good enough image to be an actual image that grants Skills on its own.

Comment: What exactly does that device do?

Melena: Its exact inner workings are described on our website, but basically, it is tangible to non-condensed soul material to help form and shape the Class structure into a perfect ring as it should be. The sphere above the needle can temporarily hold an image, which you can use to build a detailed enough image to be a Class Ideal. The needle can then extract that image and ease the process of imprinting it into the soul material. Finally, the sphere can be used yet again to help stabilize the soul material when entering its original host by transferring the soul material through the orb first.
