Seeing him like this Kumari went behind him and slapped his head “What are you doing? Interrupting our work and sitting here eating leftovers.” Punya looked at her like he was wronged and replied “When I came here there was not one of you. So I sent you a message and helped myself?” Keshab and Amrit could only sigh. They were used to this behavior. On the whole world, Punya probably respected food first and strength and others second.
Kumari could only retort in annoyance “I mean what is the emergency that you had to call us this early?” Punya looked at her like he realized why he came and replied “Oh that. There were some follow-up reports I got this morning so I wanted to discuss the matter with you.” Hearing this Keshab looked at Punya gravely “Has the matter become that serious?” Punya nodded and kept eating the leftovers.
Keshab was becoming red with anger as if he would erupt at once. Amrit looking at this could only sigh. He knew his father’s habit. He was meticulous and careful at every work he had done except for when it came to food. Sighing Amrit said, “Alright you guys talk I will prepare food in a jiffy.”
Since Amrit was preparing simple dishes for breakfast, it didn’t take him long to prepare breakfast for four. When he served dishes, Punya was about to finish the leftovers. Seeing the breakfast Punya’s face lit up. The supreme elders just sighed and admitted defeat seeing this. After breakfast, Punya got serious and started explaining things in detail. The supreme elders hearing the explanation had shocked expressions and they gradually calmed down.
Keshab sighed and said “It was to be expected. The clans had tolerated us for this long. With the big battle on the horizon, it would have swallowed us one way or the other. It is just a bit earlier than expected. If we had the time, we would have a great chance of surviving.” Keshab paused for a second and continued “It doesn’t matter. There is no one who will be untouched by this war. Even those rural villages would be forcibly conscripted when the time comes. It’s just that we would have a great chance of surviving if the war came to the city later.”
Hearing this Punya also nodded. They had finally gotten something good and then time ran out. Keshab paused for a moment as if he was thinking of something and said “Don’t tell these things to the elders. There is at least one spy from the elders and probably more from the deacons. Only inform the fifth elder first. If he has something to add, take his suggestion. Choose a few of the children from the clan who have good aptitude and send them outside with the fifth elder. He is the only one who can teach them correctly and can be trusted wholeheartedly. If he is there I can be assured of their safety and future generation. The preparations for the war have almost been finished on the array part. Even if we don’t win, I have prepared a nasty surprise for them.”
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Saying this Keshab stood up “It doesn’t matter if the foreign powers are involved. When the time comes we will give them a shock. But make your priorities straight, the children should survive, and the bloodline of our clan cannot end at our generation. I don’t want to be ashamed when I meet my ancestors. Even if they aren’t proud, at least I want to be able to look them in the eye.”
Keshab then went downstairs. Kumari also stood up and prepared to leave “If you need any pills contact me. Collect more herbs for the healing pills and the lesser blood essence restoration pills.” Punya nodded at her and looked at Amrit.
Amrit didn’t know what came into him but his blood just boiled, bloodlust emanated from him, and said to Punya “I won’t back down from the fight. Even if I died I will come back and haunt them as a ghost of the Rijal clan.” Punya was astonished by this reaction, he was going to ask Amrit to leave with the fifth elder and continue leading the clan but seeing the bloodlust emitted from his body, he knew Amrit wouldn’t listen.
This was the damn battle maniac personality of his mother passed down on him. When they were younger she was the same, emitting bloodlust just from hearing the word fight. It was unknown how much trouble they came into due to this habit. Punya just sighed and said “Alright but be careful. Increase your strength as much as you can.”
He stood up and left. After Punya left Amrit was surprised by his reaction. He knew he would not back down from the fight for the clan but this was not him. The bloodlust he emitted, wasn’t under his control. When he heard the fight for the clan, his blood began acting up as if he was going to the battlefield right that second. ‘This is probably my bloodline wanting to see a battlefield. This inheritance seems like a trouble’ he thought silently.
Although he never backed down from the fight in his previous life, this was not Earth, strength is the law here and there are beings here that can snuff out Amrit just by thought. He had to be careful. Thinking this he went down to the training chamber and started practicing the halberd and movement technique. Although he was improving, he still had a long way to go if he wanted to reach perfection realm in those moves.
He was confident he could kill average cultivators in the middle stages of the foundation building realm but above that, he had no confidence. If he breaks through, his strength would probably increase exponentially but he knew he would have to wait for some time, the time he was unable to afford the luxury of in the current situation. Amrit continued training as usual but today he found that it had become a little easier to train, although the realm of mastery didn’t improve much, his body-soul coordination had become more smooth.
He didn’t know the exact reason but could infer a little from his bloodline. It must have been due to the incoming battle. ‘Improving just for battlefield what a troublesome bloodline it was’ Amrit thought as he started killing beasts in the illusion array. What Amrit didn’t know was that half his life would be spent on the battlefield and the bloodline would once again shake the realms. The universe may have forgotten but it will once again be painted in blood.
