Chapter 111: Technique II

The onlookers didn’t dare to gather near the hole because there were still remnants of the clashed energy near Amrit. They also didn’t dare to focus too much on the hole because they were still on the battlefield. After looking for a bit they concentrated on their own battle. Only the Rijal clan members who knew the person in the hole was Amrit were oozing killing intent.

Although this was war, if Amrit truly died here, it would bring down the morale of the clan and there was no telling what the powerhouses of the clan would do at the moment of anger. The already ongoing battle would be even more chaotic. As Prithvi and the other few cultivators were about to rush towards Amrit, the twitching of his body began to intensify. If someone near the hole was listening, they would be terrified of what they were hearing.

From the hole came a rough sound of someone laughing. It wasn’t that Amrit was twitching because he was on the deathbed, but he was laughing alone. His sound was getting hoarse and with blood all over his body and the tattered clothes, the scene was creepy as hell. Even Amyas who was relishing in his victory and was preparing to deliver his final blow to the defeated opponent was stunned. The hoarse laughter got a bit louder and the cultivators fighting nearby felt a chill on their back. They looked at the hole and shifted a bit further.

They didn’t know who it was but from the sound of laughter, it was definitely bad news. Only Amyas was standing there with a shocked face. The previously worried cultivators of the Rijal clan were breathing a sigh of relief. If Amrit had the energy to have such a creepy laugh, then there is probably not a life-threatening injury on him. And that was the truth. Although he was down pretty badly as he had taken the full blow of that attack that was enough to kill most of the late stage foundation building realm cultivators, Amrit’s body was also built differently.

Not just differently, it was specifically modeled to make it more effective on the battlefield. In mortal terms, his physique was inhumane, not special purely inhumane. As he was laughing, his body began to recover at an astonishing rate, the cuts and wounds that were bleeding previously had closed. What was even more surprising was that even the blood dripping on the ground was automatically entering his body through the wounds.

It was as if someone was rewinding the very time itself. Amyas wanted to attack Amrit with whatever aura he had left and finish him before he could recover even a bit but when he wanted to move his body he became shocked. Nothing on his body was accepting his command. He willed his body to move but it wasn’t willing to move even a step. He had a dreadful feeling, he knew it wasn’t just due to the backlash. As Amyas struggled to move his body, the laugh from Amrit became even more louder and creepier. After a moment, the laughter suddenly stopped.

Except for some bruises and tattered clothes, there was nothing on his body left indicating he had gone through such a gruesome battle. The skin was restored to the pristine jade-like color and Amrit slowly stood up from the hole. He stopped laughing because he realized it made him sound like some creepy third-rate villain. As the young master of the Rijal clan and inheritor of the Asura bloodline, such character was unbecoming of him. He brushed his hair with his hands and shook all the dirt and grime from his hair.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

He used his aura to isolate the dust clinging on his body and with a wave of his hands, his body became purified. He looked at Amyas, jumped out of the hole elegantly, and slowly walked towards him. He stood in front of Amyas and said “Thank you for that last attack. Although it was pretty brutal to take it head on, it also helped me to get some very much-needed insights. Thank you for helping me complete my first technique.”

Amyas wanted to say something but Amrit turned away from him and walked in a slow motion. As he was a few meters away from Amyas, he raised his hand and made a snap. With the snap, a gruesome view was unfolded. The body of Amyas was twitching wildly and the blood leaking from his pores began to crystallize and started making shapes of icicles. This wasn’t just on the outside, after a few seconds, large icicles began to appear all over his body. The blood-red icicles were the product of manipulation from Amrit.

On the last attack, Amrit had taken all of the damage head-on and in turn, used his aura to infiltrate the blood. This time he had succeeded and the technique that was on the verge of forming took a further step creating a complete fist technique. This time, the near-death situation had benefitted Amrit immensely. The technique that was based on infiltrating the opponent’s body went further crystalizing the blood into icicles and skewering the opponent all over their body with their own blood. Aside from the graphic and gory details, this attack was quite poetic in itself.

Since the attack was poetic Amrit decided to name it as ‘Bloody Retribution’. The first technique he created would be named as ‘Bloody Retribution’ and he felt that this attack would do justice to the name. This wasn’t any fist technique or something, this was just a technique inlaid with a defense-breaking and infiltrating mechanism. This could be used with body parts or even the weapons. In terms of versatility, it was one of the best techniques on the battlefield. Just a nick from the aura and the enemy could be destroyed from the inside out with just a snap of his fingers.

But this technique was only useful for himself as almost no cultivators could have such control over the blood attribute. In the case of Amrit, it was no longer controlling but commanding. There were very few presences in the cultivation world who could command the elements of nature themselves and everyone was at the peak of this world. When Amrit had comprehended this technique, he also got a glimpse of what the next technique could be but it was just a glimpse and he felt he needed to have a higher cultivation realm to realize that technique.

He didn’t know if he would continue with the techniques as there was a possibility there would be such techniques in the arsenal of his inheritance but he felt that the next technique he got a glimpse of could enhance his strength by a lot. Amrit then looked around the battlefield and saw a chaotic battle being fought. The higher-ups were not fighting seriously as if they were preserving their strength and his father and grandfather were still in stand-off with the cultivators.
