Chapter 105: Death II

The Ming clan elder was standing there with a stupefied expression on his face. His expression gradually became horrified. The Visigoth clan member had already backed off a few meters and watched Amrit with a look of terror on his face. This was when the killing intent and bloodlust were not directed at him.

The surrounding foundation building cultivators also raised their heads to look for who was raising such a ruckus. They had just started battling. Although there were some casualties, there was no need to raise their killing intent to such a level. But soon they became engrossed in their own battle. They didn’t have the luxury to watch others.

What happened was when Amrit and the Visigoth clan member were starting to battle with techniques, Mahesh and the deacon were watching the Ming clan because this was the best time for sneak attacks. And with the soul attacks being intangible they wouldn’t be able to perceive it clearly without using their divine sense. Since Amrit didn’t have divine sense, it was very likely he would be hit with that soul attack.

And as they traded blows, the Ming clan cultivator suddenly launched the soul attack. Mahesh and the deacons were ready to intercept any attack from him but intercepting the soul attack was easier said than done. Even if the attack was defended by talismans or techniques, the soul attacks were elusive and couldn’t be completely defended.

The one on the way would be sure to bear the burnt. Mahesh and the deacon used their top speed and arrived between the Ming cultivator and Amrit and used all of their defense talisman and techniques. Since the Ming clan cultivator was at the middle stage of foundation building realm, his attack using most of the soul power was stronger than what the two of them could handle. At that time, the soul attack was breaching their barrier and Mahesh suddenly pushed the deacon to the side and took the brunt of that attack with his body.

Having just stepped into the foundation building realm, there was no way he would be able to survive even if the attack power had lessened a bit. Mahesh just looked at the deacon and uttered “Save the young master” before his mouth began foaming and his life force vanishing rapidly. The deacon was left on the ground in a daze. Amrit only knew that he was being protected from the soul attack when he heard the phrase “Save the young master”.

When the dust settled and he saw the body of Mahesh he was suddenly overcome with anger. Amrit knew the soul attack would be troublesome for him to handle but he still had the capacity to take that hit. But these two seniors from the clan had taken the full brunt of the sneak attack knowing they would be gravely injured even if they survived.

He didn’t know how to feel. Gratitude alone was not enough to show towards someone who had given their life just to spare him injuries. This was the reason his bloodlust and killing intent was oozing out uncontrollably. For an equivalent exchange only death would suffice. This cowardly way could only be answered when the head of the Ming clan cultivator is rolled down to the ground, blood seeping through his neck painting the dust in crimson red.

Amrit put his qi onto the halberd and the halberd started making a low hum. The two silver and gold colored ribbons were dancing in chaotic form. Enveloped by the bloodlust and killing intent, the ribbons were emitting silver and gold light intertwined by black and red creating a mesmerizing combination. It was a combination of beauty and lethality.

It seemed as if the halberd was excited about what was about to happen. Amrit twirled the halberd and leaped towards the Ming clan cultivator. Although the Ming clan elder was frozen he was still a middle stage foundation building cultivator. He hurriedly pulled out the defense talisman and injected qi into it.

The Ming clan was famous for the talisman so they had plenty on their stock. The talisman emitted a brown barrier encircling the Ming clan elder. Since he had the status of an elder, he had few high-tier talismans. The talisman he used was a second grade high tier defense talisman that could withstand the attack of late stage foundation building cultivator.

Although Amrit was not berserk, he was still filled with rage and started hitting the barrier with a halberd. There were no techniques involved. He didn’t use the heavenly halberd technique or the nine nether movement techniques, he was hitting the barrier with brute strength. Astonishingly the barrier began to form cracks after hitting a few times. The Ming clan elder was shocked, if he hadn’t used the talisman, he would have probably died from a few attacks.

He pulled a handful of talismans from his sleeves and threw them at Amrit. The talisman ranked from first grade to second grade, most of them were low-tier second grade. As the talismans were thrown, they changed into fireballs, water arrows, ice arrows, entangling vines and some were golden swords. When the attacks arrived near Amrit, the Ming clan cultivator used another talisman for defense similar to the previous one.

He was once again enveloped in a brown barrier. Amrit used his halberd and started parrying the attacks. His reflexes were insane; it was as if Amrit had already become a battle cultivator. He deflected most of the attacks from the talismans but few of them still hit him. It wasn’t because Amrit didn’t have good reflexes but because there were many talismans attacking at once so there was nowhere to avoid it.

Although most of the talismans that hit him were first grade, there were few second grades in the mix. He didn’t use any fancy defense techniques and decided to take them with his body. After the explosion of the talisman attacks finished, there were few scorch marks on his robe otherwise there wasn’t so much as a purple patch on his skin. The well-defined muscles were visible through the tattered robes. Not caring about his state, Amrit once again twirled the halberd and slashed at the brown barrier with all his might.

The Ming clan elder was shocked to see the talismans not doing any damage to Amrit. Even he wouldn’t be able to withstand those attacks. Amrit had already started hammering the barrier and after the first one turned to pieces, the second barrier soon followed the footsteps and started cracking all over. The Ming elder became afraid and pulled another talisman and pasted it on his body. Soon there was a small green whirlwind gathering around him. This was the effect of the movement talisman; the Ming clan elder was trying to flee. He knew there was no way he would be able to defend the attacks.
