This went for a full ten rounds and the duo from the Visigoth clan didn’t even have time to avoid the flaming arrows or do anything else. Honestly, they didn’t even have time to recover from the minor injuries and shocks in their internal organs caused by the impact of explosions. They could recover the aura they had expended quickly but it was only if they didn’t keep spending it every second.
Now they were using a lot of aura to minimize the impact and sneak attacks that may come for them. Who knows if Kumari would add some sneak attack in the midst of explosions? Since they couldn’t see clearly due to shockwaves and the explosions, it was possible that Kumari could send some attacks towards them deceiving their divine sense after all as body path cultivators, they had weak divine sense compared to average cultivators of the qi path.
They had to be careful as they were under a lot of pressure and any slip-up could prove to be fatal. Kumari was thinking of using a sneak attack because she realized grinding them down with the flaming arrows alone could take a long time. And she couldn’t use her trump cards on these two as it would be a total waste. The stalemate went for another ten rounds and both sides were doing the exact same thing. The Visigoth duo defended and Kumari waved her hand, creating flaming arrows.
But this time Kumari changed her tactics, she only sent six arrows and kept one flame blob near her. The cauldron added more fire to the flame blob and it grew almost five times as large. Other six flaming arrows were constantly forming and being sent toward Alaric and Frideric who were busy punching those arrows and defending themselves against the explosions. Kumari slowly molded the large blob into a two-meter-long spear while sending six flaming arrows toward the Visigoth duo every two seconds.
This spear was somewhat peculiar. Kumari had already forged such a spear from the flames and the lethality was sufficient to incapacitate most of the cultivators in the foundation building realm. This time while sending the flaming arrows towards the Visigoth clan duo, she was slowly manipulating flames to make the spear as compact as she could. As the spear formed, she then began injecting the crimson hue into the tip. As the concentration of the crimson hue increased, the abstract characters in it became clearer.
These characters were constantly moving and unrecognizable but they were becoming clear to look at. This might have been the strongest attack she had conjured in a long time. Since she hadn’t pointed the spear at the duo, the lethality they felt was lesser and they both attributed it to the constant barrage of the flaming arrows.
As Kumari continued adding a crimson hue to the tip of the spear, it began to vibrate slowly and her control over it started waning. Her forehead was covered in sweat. It wasn’t the manipulation of fire but the crimson hue that was hard for her. Being an alchemist, her fire manipulation was close to mastery but the crimson hue was different. Even though it was like a part of her after being incorporated into the cauldron, it was still hard for her to control it fully.

She just increased the concentration on the tips and the lethality increased automatically but now as she increased the concentration on the tip of the spear, the lethality increased exponentially and so did the difficulty of controlling the spear. At some point, she felt the concentration of the crimson hue had reached the point of saturation not because it was the limit of the crimson hue but her divine sense wouldn’t be able to control it anymore.
She felt that if she could have increased the concentration of the crimson hue on the tip of the spear then it would go under a qualitative change but when she tried, she felt as if a great danger would befall her. Her sense of danger was ringing in her head like a fire alarm. She stopped increasing the concentration but didn’t stop sending the barrage of flaming arrows towards the duo. They had been going on for more than a minute and at this time the stalemate had continued for more than thirty turns.
The duo from the Visigoth clan were battered and bruised all over. Although the injuries had reached to their bones, it wasn’t anything grave but their aura was depleting rapidly. There wasn’t a skin on their body that wasn’t cracked a bit from the impact of the explosions and a little bit of fire. It was their luck that after exploding the crimson hue disappeared otherwise the accumulated damage to their soul would have been enough to make them vegetables. As they were getting constantly battered and tried new ways to get out of this stalemate they suddenly sensed an unprecedented danger.
They knew that they would be losing sooner or later if this stalemate continued, they also knew that they were only stalling for time, there were no grave injuries yet and if they could survive for ten minutes, the Thapa clan cultivators would arrive at their rescue. Since they hadn’t sustained serious injuries and no soul attacks, they were confident in stalling for a few minutes. They would sense danger every now and then, but it was only minimal as if their intuition was trying to warn them about a bit dangerous attack coming towards them.
But this time it was different, their intuition was telling them this was a fatal attack and it would be hard for them to survive. The surrounding was covered with the remnant of flames from the explosion, shockwaves erupting now and then only blurred their eyesight further. They also couldn’t use their divine sense wantonly because the crimson hue was capable of annihilating their divine sense. Although the bells in their head were ringing like crazy the flaming arrows never stopped for even a second.
They were confused as to where the attack was coming from or whether it was from Kumari. They even thought if the golden core formation realm cultivator had made a move near them so they were alerted by reflex. But they knew that they would have to put on some defense either way as they couldn’t leave their life to some chances. Both of them exhausted whatever their remaining was left and focused on their defense even to the point of ignoring the flaming arrows when they knew contact with their body by the crimson hue of the arrow would attack their soul.
But even with their defense, the ringing didn’t stop one bit. They could do nothing more as they didn’t know where the attack was coming from as the surroundings had turned into a flame world.
