Chapter 136: Battle of the Bigwigs VII

The two Visigoths were in disarray because Alaric was covered in crimson-hued flame and Frideric was pushed away a few meters and broke his hand. They were only stalling for more time and Kumari was also playing along but who knew what came to her and she started using her full power.

Although the cultivation stage of both Alaric and Kumari was the same, the crimson-hued flame was really draining the aura from Alaric and wherever he wanted to attack, the cauldron would appear ahead of him as if it had its own consciousness. Not only that if they were not careful with the flame for even a moment, it would start attacking their soul creating a pain like nothing they had endured. So even if a bit of the flame clings to them, they had to use a lot of aura to completely eliminate it.

They had no other way because their soul power was less than average cultivators at their cultivation stage. If it was a qi path cultivator, their soul power would be somewhat decent but for body path cultivator, except for a few extraordinary cultivation techniques, every other technique leads to subpar soul power. If not for their defensive soul technique and aura being quite useful for protection, they would have already fallen here. Even though their defensive soul technique was subpar, the damage from the flames was only accumulative which would cause huge damage in the long run.

The fire spear created by Kumari was about two meters long and was fully solidified. There were no intricate designs on the flame spear but there were some abstract patterns forming on the tip of the spear. This was not intentional and Kumari didn’t know anything about it, she just manipulated the fire and compressed the crimson hue more on the tip of the spear. She waved her hand and the spear started spinning without making a sound as if it was just an illusion. The two Visigoths felt a sense of danger emanating from the spear and cold sweat started dripping from their back.

Previously Kumari had not used such a move and they didn’t know the Rijal clan had such martial arts. Kumari herself didn’t know the fire spear he had conjured could be so strong. She didn’t do anything but manipulate the flames to change their shape. If she had known such simple manipulation could bring so much power, she would have started battling from the start after all she had almost unlimited ammo. She waved her hands once again and changed the shape of the spear.

This time the spear changed into flaming arrows. Again she was just changing the shapes of the flame and adding a bit more of the crimson hue on the tip of the arrows but the abstract characters just appeared there increasing the lethality of the flame arrows. The three cultivators looking at the having fun playing with fire in the middle of the battlefield just felt more afraid. After changing to a few more shapes Kumari came to the conclusion that it was the crimson hue of the flames that was making the weapons she had conjured more dangerous.

Adding more of the crimson hue on the tip would cause some abstract patterns to emerge which added more lethality. She once again conjured a few more flame arrows and waved her hand which caused them to fly towards the three cultivators. They scrammed away to avoid being hit by the flame arrows and they succeeded. The arrows flew past them and went far on the horizon before getting out of control and exploding in mid-air.

She could have changed their trajectories using her divine sense and made them like homing arrows but she didn’t want to waste her soul power doing that plus she wanted to test the limit of the arrows. She wanted to know how far they would go without breaking apart and the exploding part was a complete surprise to her. The explosion was not just for show; it could do some serious damage to most of the cultivators in the foundation building realm. Everyone was being serious about this battle but she was acting like a kid who had found a new toy.

It was a change from her usual aloof behavior. There was even a slight smile on her face. After finding that the arrows would go as far as a couple hundred meters without exploding, she once again conjured a few arrows. As an alchemist who spends her time every day refining pills, her control over the manipulation of objects using divine sense was superb. The fire arrows were not any foreign objects, they were from her own qi so she was able to control around a dozen of them freely. But to be precise in the long-range, she couldn’t control more than two otherwise the trajectory would deviate a bit.

She waved her hand and a blob of crimson-hued flame came out of the cauldron and started splitting into six smaller blobs. The blobs started elongating and turned into flame arrows. She pushed the crimson-hued part into the tip of the arrows and the ethereal abstract patterns began to show once more emitting a dangerous aura. It took only two seconds for her to perform the move. She looked at the three cultivators and waved her hand once more. The three cultivators were terrified especially after seeing the explosion from the arrow.

At this moment they had forgotten that they were also at the late stage of the foundation building realm almost equal to Kumari. Watching her play around with that dangerous fire they felt they were some kids looking at the bully about to throw some firecrackers at them. The fire arrows flew straight towards them. The three of them had already scattered previously and barely had the time to regroup when around ten arrows flew toward them with hair-raising lethality. They once again used their best body movement arts to avoid the arrows.

They knew that to truly get away from the arrows they had to run a few hundred meters away from Kumari but they didn’t have that much time plus the fire arrows were way faster than them. It was only by moving in the zigzag fashion they were able to avoid the fire arrows at a close distance otherwise they would have already been hit. Kumari was trying her best to hit them but their reaction was superb as two were body path cultivators with fast reactions and another was a soul path cultivator who could detect even a small change in divine sense fluctuation.

Not only that her divine sense could do only limited movement in a short time when the distance increased. If the cultivators were only a few meters apart from her, she would have been able to hit them accurately but with distance, she also had to use the divine sense to keep the form of the flaming arrow intact.
