Leo woke up in a start and looked around on the desolate battlefield. He looked up and marveled at the destruction the Monarchs caused. Fragments of planets were everywhere with a lingering aura of Rot, Sword Intent, and Cursed Energy. He crawled over to Shade who was missing an arm looking down on himself he realized he too was missing both his legs. A burning feeling of shame burned on his face. This was war. Yet he was treating it like it was some outing with his partner. A feeling of rage welled up and he somehow stood up even without legs somehow defying the laws of gravity. Anytime a Monarch could descend on the battlefield and exterminate everyone. Even his own Monarch wasn’t different. The Sword Saint didn’t care about them clearly shown by the lingering Sword Intent in the stump of his legs.
The anger was as directed to the Monarchs as they were to himself. He was being selfish more preoccupied by his own pleasure and power than the greater good it was why the Void Emperor didn’t step in to help. He was displeased. The Emperor could have saved them but he was unwilling. Maybe he even thought that they were better off dead as he felt that he could get a new vessel. Leo groaned and wavered his body slowly topping over but suddenly his vision faded away to a desolate stone arena.
Leo slowly opened his eyes and he was sitting on the ground as his legs remained he looked up at the Emperor sitting on the ground in front of him. He grimaced and looked down not meeting the Emperors criticizing gaze. “Finally understood?” Leo didn’t talk wishing it would be over quicker. A piece of Energy raised up Leo’s chin to meet the Emperor’s eyes. “I said did you understand?” A faint sense of anger radiated off the Emperor. “I understand. I was selfish. I thought I could get away with not contributing fully with my Luck. I was just like the bastards I hated who never contributed and just treated war like an outing.” The anger faded away and was replaced by a dark gloomy feeling. The plain stone arena also changed mirroring the Emperor’s expression becoming a cloudy rainstorm.
Leo finally looked the Emperor directly in the eye and asked the question that’s been on his mind for as long as he was with him. “How strong are you truly? You feel unbelievably strong. For some reason I feel like you’re stronger than a Supremacy and why did you choose me as a vessel what is your goal?” The clouds parted but was replaced with a bloody desolate battlefield with shattered weapons all over and the Empower looked at Leo with a bloodthirsty look. “You’re right I’m not a Supremacy I’m a Peak Divine. And there is someone from the past who’s back and with her power no one will be able to stop her. I will finish what I started.” Leo’s mind swirled from the information overload. The Emperor continued:”There are ranks beyond Supremacy it goes from Supremacy to S-Grade and then to Demigod, God, Primordial, Divine and the final stage that has been only theorized Eternity. The monster from the past is named Shade and she’s a Peak Divine just not as strong as me.”

Leo took the news with a slight ripple in his heart. Just more grades to climb. The Emperor stood up and started reminiscing. He talked about how he rose to the top being the first person to surpass A-Grade then he just kept on climbing and his feats became common knowledge across all of existence and even all of non-existence. Suddenly Gods were appearing and at the time there were only 50 Primordials and 4 Divines including himself and Shade. Unfortunately the 2 other Divines were Half Step Divines and just had the power of a really really powerful Primordial not nearly as close as even a Low Stage Divine.
Shade wasn’t satisfied and aimed for Eternity. Eternity was when your Path became True Law and all of existence and non existence would follow it. Shade walked the Path of Darkness and if she was allowed to succeed to ascend she would plunge everything into Eternal Darkness a True one where even she would be swallowed by her Path and cause the complete destruction of everything. The Emperor couldn’t allow that to happen and confronted her when she was about to ascend. He then was able to seal his fellow Divine but realized that she would come back and he needed to be at the same place and time that she was in so that he could kill her once and for all.
The Emperor’s eyes opened and a longing pain resided in them. :“I sacrificed everything to get to you and I calculated correctly! We’re so close! If you rise to power quicker then Shade I can kill her once and for all! She’s at Low Primordial but her growth is no match for me she got a head start but we can still beat her!
Leo looked up and grimaced :”How strong are the strongest beings in the Multiverse now besides you and Shade.” The Emperor sighed:”Unfortunately back in the Era where we both resided I couldn’t seal Shade completely I resorted to a suicidal attempt and I broke off a piece of the Ladder Of Eternity in a final attempt to seal her in a endless Eternal meaningless existence. I failed and only managed to seal her for multiple Eras. But breaking Eternity doesn’t come with no backlash I made breaking into the higher grades considerably harder. As so the strongest are just Gods me and Shade aren’t restricted by these laws though.”
Shade opened her eyes. She felt it. Her clone died.
