Leo and Shade stood opposing each other in a circular arena both stood tall. It’s been a day and Leo was full healed up while Shade also regenerated her severed arm. Energy surged as Leo infused his body with Energy rushing forwards. Shade made no quick move instead drawing out her sword and slowly stepping forward. Leo closed the 100 meter gap almost instantly slashing his sword downwards in a ruthless arc. Shade parried effortlessly showcasing her insane sword skills.
Leo’s reaction was instant and he immediately attacked again but Shade was a tad bit quicker ramming the hill of her sword into Leo’s midsection driving him back. The Emperor remained silent quietly observing the battle unfold. Leo activated [Void Slash] and a black purplish diagonal blade appeared only a couple meters away from Shade.
Energy surged as Shade clothes transformed into a set of white angelic robes with a golden halo behind her. The halo took the form of a wheel and it turned causing a golden barrier to appear out of nowhere blocking the slash in its path. The earth cracked as attack and barrier took each other out. Leo stomped clearing the dust but before he could react an abyssal dark blade slashed towards his throat behind him.
Leo’s eyes widened and he activated his Bloodline Talent [Void Heart]. Void Heart had two properties one was absorption and one was interference. Void Heart disrupted Shade’s attack leaving Leo with milliseconds to dodge. He snapped his head back but it wasn’t enough. Leo grunted as he felt his throat get cut. He jumped back and shot out 5 Void Slashes aiming for Shade’s limbs and head.
Shade has transformed again into a bloodthirsty conquerer. Shade’s pure white angelic robes has transformed into a set of abyssal black robes with a dot of pure white on the chest. The wheel above her head changed into a rotting putrid wheel of Death. The wheel spun and Leo’s perception rocked sending 3 of the blades of course. Shade wretched her body back dodging all but one of the blades. The blade drew a deep cut across her chest as she forgo any type of caution. Charging straight at Leo Shade slashed. Surprised Leo tried stepping back but his perception rocked as the wheel turned he wasn’t dodging! He stepped straight into the attack!

Leo felt his chest tear as he took the heavy blow. Shade wasn’t backing off and activated her angelic form. Thousands of white spheres appeared in the air as Shade pointed her flaming white sword straight at Leo. The spheres shot at Leo with the speed of a bullet train. Leo activated Void Heart expending his energy even further. The nullification and disruption feature of the Talent showed its worth as Shade’s attacks disappeared just gone. Shade’s eyes grew as she saw what happened but she wasn’t deterred. Switching into her base form she charged slashing at Leo.
Leo smiled as he realized the tempo shifted he was on the attack now. Leo engaged slashing and parrying Shade. But Shade was a true Sword Saint her technique was just too great restraining his every move. Even worse Shade was ramping up the speed and Leo felt his attack growing more and more obsolete. Leo couldn’t let himself lose the fight and started expending energy to use [Void Slash]. Shade backed off and infused her body with Energy tilting her body so that the attacks just barely grazed her.
Shade smiled as she realized Leo’s energy reserves couldn’t be high while she didn’t use much Energy throughout the whole fight. Ultimately she still was holding back as she could activate her final form and end the battle. Leo felt his overuse of Energy catch up to him. Leo felt blood trickle out from his nose but he barely noticed it as Shade switched to her angelic form spinning the wheel again.
This time the wheel shot out a wave of cleansing holy fire swallowing Leo whole. Leo fought to hold onto conciseness but he was outmatched despite his advantages despite Shade being on the same level as him he was losing. Leo felt despair as Shade was in her demonic form and the click of the wheel spinning spent Leo’s mind spiraling. A lance of dark energy pierced Leo straight through sending him stumbling back. But before he could make a counter attack a right kick to his temple connected sending him to the ground.
Leo activated [Void Slash] as his already depleted reserves started to crumble. Leo was basically drawing on his life force at this point and anymore could have lasting effects and this was only a spar there was no need to go this far. But Leo’s heart disagreed while every bit of Leo’s rationality disagreed with the insane plan he had thought of Leo’s heart loved it. Leo’s power churned as he activated his [Bloodline Manual] mid-fight.
Shade bounced back looking curiously as she activated her final form melding the glory of an Empress with the sinister power of a ruthless Conqueror. Shade left nothing unused her reserves burning fast as she infused herself with Energy to further increasing her speed and reflexes to another level.
“That’s right! Give it all for your Path!”
The Emperor roared similarly and the second phase of their battle started.
