There are certain days where you just feel like you wanna lay in your bed and do nothing all day long apart from taking the longest nap ever. This may be an everyday feeling, but I'm saying that some specific days vividly emanate it.
That's how I felt when the old man engaged in the conversation. I just wanted it all to be a dream, and never think of it again. But obviously, things don't go as you want them to go; and I was left with the dilemma of what to do. Needless to say that I just had to face what was coming for me.
I was mostly disturbed because I didn't actually know what was coming for me, which is one scary thought. I knew I shouldn't had gone down that basement and yet it felt like it had to be done. I'm not saying I regret it, I just wished I could've over-thought all of the circumstances before going brainlessly in.
What if that room had always been there and if I perhaps had found it earlier I would've been transported here when I was actually younger. Was that time the actual destined time, or did I mess it up!?
I'm not sure either whom that person was; is he actually just a creature that found a way into our world? Wait, might that mean that there's actually a way into our world and vice versa. I think over-thinking anything isn't the right way to go about things. The old dude is still staring at me and patiently waiting for my response. He looks partly friendly and I honestly don't have any idea what else to do. Moreover, he had more than the time and means to kill me by now or whatever he could've wanted; so that's certainly something to take under consideration.
"Excuse me, do I know you?" finally asked Eve.
"I don't think so." replied the old man. "However, your visit has been longingly expected. I, by a fact, know that you may be drooling to get some answers and I'm afraid we don't have much time either. So I'll try to explain as much as I can and by the time I'll be done hopefully you will be able to understand what is going on."
"Wh--"
"The only thing I ask of you, is to endure the time I'll be talking." interrupted the old man. "I don't particularly like getting interrupted and I wanna get to the point as fast as I can. Then I'll answer everything else you might wanna know. If there will be anything."
"Sounds like a plan." responded Eve. "Can I have something to drink first though?"

"We unfortunately don't have water in here, but we got something close to it. I'll be right back."
He definitely looks like a good man, and there's where everyone fails. I shan't let my guard down. I got to find some sort of weapon and get the truth out of him in the right way. Something about him doesn't sound right. Perfect, that dagger will do.
"Here you go mis--"
Eve assaults the old man and forcefully makes him sit in the chair. She tries to find something to tie the man up so she can make her task easier. The old man keeps mumbling stuff but she's too focused on her quest to listen to him. She eventually finds a rope and while she's trying to tie the man up; on the blink of an eye she finds herself tied instead.
"What the hell are you doing" yelled the old man. "We don't have any precious time to waste, they can be here at any moment. You have to listen carefully."
"My name is Lirius." proceeded Lirius. "There's nothing else you need to know about me. If you ever feel in need of help, just make sure to tell others my name. It will ensure your safety for at least some days."
"Now advancing to the important stuff, " continued Lirius. "you are Evelyn, the next one. Most people will tell by your aura, that's however something that can be taken care off. You must go as soon as you can and meet my old friend Tibius. He'll teach you everything you need to know about your powers."
"Powers!?" exclaimed Eve.
"There's no time for that!" said Lirius "You have to know that your presence here is at risk, there'll be people hunting for you everywhere. You needn't be worried that much, your capabilities are far larger than anyone's here; but everyone knows you're new to this world so they'll trick you onto making mistakes and falling their prey."
"Till you master your powers, you shouldn't travel barehanded." continued Lirius. "I see you've been acquainted with the Dagger of Souls. This will help you be safe in the meantime. It's unique passive is that it can collect the soul of the person you kill with the dagger, becoming stronger and deadlier. It doesn't per se imprison the creature you kill in your dagger, it just captures their soul freeing the spirit. Some say that the dagger has other abilities which are unknown till now. The moment you touched the dagger the souls did reset to 0. You'll have to start from nothing. Your main quest right now is to find Tibius and he'll guide you further. Just watch out."
"This is definitely a lot to take in. I still have a lot of questions going on my mind. Why me? Who really am I?" asked Eve.
"I was certain you would ask tha--"
KNOCKS ON THE DOOR
"I knew it, they're here" said Lirius. "You have to leave Eve, RIGHT NOW!"
"They've sorrounded the place" responded Eve. "There's at least 5 of them, I can't."
SLAM
"Have you seen the gi-- She's here!" screamed the first one that entered. "GO GET HER!"
