Evelyn was starting to get used to this feeling. Even though things would go well on a side, the other part was apparently meant to go poor. She was too baffled to understand what was really going on. She was pretty worn out and fatigued herself. It was too much to handle at once. Everything had come to her like a wrecking ball. One after the other.
Can’t I just get a break from time to time? I just had the most atrocious experience since I came here and now I have to get back at fighting again? Thinking about it though, those statues were the real deal. I don’t yet know how I got there and what’s the meaning of it, but they looked damn scary and threatening. Even though I beat the first two, it didn’t appear that the others would be on the same level. It’s pretty cliche when you think about it. It’s always the most weak ones that get send first, until the real deals join the game.
She however wasn’t afraid this time around. A new companion had joined her. She quickly noticed her daemon. It was sleeping nevertheless. But it was the cutest thing, she thought. It didn’t really look evil or hideous at all, it was just her type. Would it be able to speak tho? And how sure was she that he really was a companion? She had to wait to find out these answers.
Back to earth, she noticed Shaiyla fighting with everything she had against a man while Kotlin was somehow keeping up with a woman. It would’ve appeared that those might’ve ambushed them and injured Tibius. Apparently his fame was known.
Eve was aware that her party couldn’t keep up so she had to step in. She hadn’t been seen yet tho but that didn’t matter cause they’d definitely sense her aura.
“Halt there! What’s going on here?” asked Eve.
“Oh my, she is here!” exclaimed Merian.
“Where was she hiding?” said Tomal.
“I don’t know who you guys are, but I’d suggest to get out of here if you don’t wanna get in serious trouble.” said Eve.
Shaiyla and Kotlin in the meantime had fallen back and reunited with Eve.
Stolen novel; please report.
“How admira— Wait, does she have a daemon on her shoulder?” asked Tomal.
“This is certainly getting interesting. I’m pretty sure the last time we saw one of those was thousands of years ago.” replied Merian. “Listen to us sweety. We don’t wanna waste our times and yours either. So why don’t you do us a favor and come with us willingly? It’s gonna be less painful, I assure you.”
“You first assault my friends, injure Tibius and now you credulously think I’m gonna follow the two of you? said Eve.
The both nodded.
“Then you’re just a bunch of fools.”
And she quickly ran towards them. She felt her acceleration grow faster and neither Tomal nor Merian saw that coming. Eve hit Tomal with her dagger, which she had pulled out in an instant, and then struck Merian as well. She repeated that same action two more times and when she felt satisfied, she backed off.
The enemies however started laughing.
“That’s pretty underwhelming, not gonna lie.” said Tomal.
“Yeah, I was expecting more from her.” replied Merian. “Not certainly of her to slack this much tho.”
“Well, the faster we bring her back, the faster we get our reward.”
“That’s what I like to hear.”
Tomal literally vanished and appeared in front of Eve, striking her so hard she couldn’t feel anything. He kept doing that multiple times, until Shaiyla joined in to help her.
Her attempt was futile however cause Merian just threw her away in a single hit.
Everything looked bad. She didn’t want it to end like this, but she was aware that she was in front of two of the most powerful opponents yet. She didn’t still give up though, she quickly dodged Tomal’s next attack and gathered all of her strength on her dagger and struck Tomal with everything she had.
If it hadn’t been noticeable before, Tomal looked really pissed now. He came to his sense and started spouting some words as loud as he could. Some energy started assembling around him and he appeared to be getting stronger and stronger.
Eve didn’t know what to do, she was left bemused. After not only a minute, Tomal summoned what looked a small ball and directed it towards Evelyn. It was the quickest thing she had ever seen and thus making her unable to dodge. Out of nowhere appeared Tibius and blocked the attack. The explosion making a giant smoke-screen.
After a while, Eve noticed Tibius basically lifeless and anger started filling her. From behind she could hear Shaiyla crying.
She knew Tomal had stepped a boundary he shouldn’t have. He had messed up. No matter how strong they were, she didn’t give a damn. Suddenly she arose, her eyes lit and the daemon on her side had finally woken up too. It didn’t look happy either.
“Do you really think that that’s gonna scare m—
Tomal tried saying something, but time had frozen.
