Intermission part 2

Intermission part 2

It was finally Jack's turn and a blue humanoid with 3 eyes and gills on its neck with scales all over held Jack's arm and escorted him to the entrance.

He walked for a minute through halls and rooms as the sound of an audience got louder and louder as he only realized now that he would be watched live.

Jack thought It was going to be a more one-on-one interview in which he would be asked some small hard-hitting questions.

But now it was more towards a talk show with lots of lights and an audience who have to listen to bad jokes and get told when to laugh.

He felt nervous go into a situation he had no control of and could only guess what would go down once he got on the stage.

He walked until eventually he stood next to a large red and gold curtain that was closed in front of him, and he could now hear the sound of the crowds more clearly.

He could also hear the sound of feet moving around and the sound of equipment being moved as Jack had his face wiped down by a random alien.

Making it look more clean, put shockingly, had put a small layer of makeup on his face, most likely because aliens wore it when going on shows.

All it did was make his face look a bit better, and you couldn't tell he had anything on, but obviously, he wasn't happy with this, so I tried wiping it off.

However, the same alien stopped him, giving him a quick slap on his hand. I wish Jack was shocked but still tried again, but the alien slapped his hand again.

This led to a small slap fight between the two as Jack was a bit childish, mostly likely as a way to deal with his stress.

Another alien who was from the security team separated the two while another two aliens checked his suit and hair.

When everything seemed well, Jack only had to wait another minute as he slowly zoned everything around him out until it was just the sound of his breathing.

"All I got to do is be kind and not be too hostile and try to get through the questions as fast as I can, then I can get the information I need"-Jack

Jack was patted on his shoulder as an alien signed a count down from 5 to 1 using her hands and then pushed him lightly through the opening curtain.

As the darkness backstage retreated, Jack was, for a short moment, blinded by the lights as he walked forward while listening to the sound of clapping.

What he saw was a large open space that looked like a tv studio but was more futuristic with more

advanced cameras and a massive audience of aliens.

From what he could tell, there are at least a thousand people in the audience of all types of races he had never seen before and was awe-struck at the scene.

Some had fur others had scales, some had eyes, while others had claws and many more variations you could imagine and more.

Jack turned his head and saw a chair that was positioned next to a desk in which a female alien was sitting whilst smiling at him.

"Welcome candidate 10, please have a seat"-?

Jack was still shocked and moved slowly towards the seat, but he tried not to show it while he was wary of the host at the desk.

"Holy shit are those snakes?"-Jack

Jack didn't say it out loud as he looked at the tall and pink-skinned woman who had snakes as hair and smiled at him. This was, of course, Laxy.

Jack sat down and stared at the woman who quickly reached over to shake his hand, wishing he did and was surprised her hand felt normal and not scaly or ruff.

"It is a pleasure to meet you candidate 10. I'm laxy the host of this lovely show, and we have all been watching. Eagerly as you and your fellow candidates have created and watched your race survive"-Laxy

"Now I know you have many questions, so we will let you ask them first, and then we can get to ours, okay?"-Laxy

"Umm, okay, so how can I understand you and the same for them?"-Jack

Jack was wondering how Laxy and the audience understood and spoke English, but he could guess some type of translation device.

"Well, there are many ways from races being able to easily understand languages compared to other races. Some only need to have a small conversation to pick up the basics of their language and can normally be fluent in a few days."-Laxy

"While other races can simply read your mind and instinctually know the meaning of your words and other complicated body points that indicate what your intentions are."-Laxy

"And finally there is the language translator that most races in the universe use and has all know languages compiled into it even if they are from long extinct races"-Laxy

"That very impressive"-Jack

"Awe, well, it's just the combined might of multiple ranks 7 civilizations and other races contributions over the millennia"-Laxy

"Anything else"-Laxy

"Why do the games exist?" -Jack

"Ah, sorry, that is not something you or me will know, but just know it's for the greater good"-Laxy

That sadly didn't answer his main question and couldn't think of anything else right now, so he just decided to get on with the questions.

"I have nothing else to ask"-Jack

"Wow, really, are you sure we all thought you would be more curious, wasn't we?"-Laxy

As she said this, she was talking to the audience they all shouted out responses from wanting Jack to ask more questions to boo for wanting more from Jack.

"Yes, I'm sure I won't get the answers I seek here"-Jack

"Oooh, it seems you're planning as always glad you haven't let us down"-Laxy

Jack tried to stop the frown coming on his face as he thought.

"I have a plan?" -Jack
